Sewn is an overpriced store selling used and antiquated clothes that will not honor returns. I came into Sewn searching for some cloth. The lady at the front desk was exceedingly helpful and even assisted me in selecting the correct type of fabric. I was shocked to see that the scrap fabric was grossly overpriced at $40, but after paying for the item, the shopkeeper stated I could bring back the fabric should I have any issues with it. A few days later, I came in to return the unused fabric, but a different shopkeeper was manning the cash register. This employee refused to refund me despite the receipt I produced. She stated that fabric was not returnable, which was never disclosed to me prior to purchase. Moreover, the previous employee who processed my transaction clearly stated I could return the fabric. Instead, I had to settle on store credit, which I begrudgingly spent on an overpriced vintage (aka used) button-up. Overall, I would not recommend Sewn for clothing or fabric. Sewn charges an unjustified premium and refuses to honor returns. read more

I came to Sewn looking for a pair of sunglasses because I forgot mine at home (nothing worse than being on a trip without sunglasses, especially when you're going to be outside most of the time). I didn't end up finding any sunglasses I liked here but did browse the racks of cute clothes! I ended up purchasing two beautiful blouses; one was cream colored with an intricate pattern along the neckline and the other was white with lace detailing on the bottom and the sleeves. Both tops were reasonably priced and very good quality; I've worn and washed them a few times now and they haven't morphed or changed. Very cute space with a wide array of reasonably priced vintage cloth, clothes, and patterns, plus a nice selection of tchotchkes. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Although they do not offer sewing/clothes making classes, the woman at the front was extremely helpful in recommending local businesses that do! I want this store in my back yard!!! The window displays are a bit odd, but step inside if you are a wardrobe curator! Lots of one of a kind vintage along with designers of small runs. Great vintage shoe collection as well. The owner has a great eye that runs on the colorful side. The jewelry runs the gamut of funky gauche, to Native American. This is a fantastic little store, tucked in with all the other fantastic little stores (and bars) on south Broadway. It's a small place, but is packed with fun items - plenty of clothing, including a ton of really cute dresses. They've also got hand painted purses and bags, fun pin cushions (including the ones that you wear on your wrist), bags, thimbles, jewelery... I was mostly browsing, but my sister was gift shopping. She found something for everyone in Sewn, and left with about $100 worth of stuff. The two women working here (the owners, I assume) were really friendly, and they do have fitting rooms so you can try on your handcrafted treasures before you commit to purchasing. If you're a crafty seamstress, they might have the stuff you need here - if not, they definitely have the stuff you want! read more

Lovely curated collection of vintage and vintage-inspired clothing (similar to Modcloth), but also lots of interesting knickknacks, postcards, jewelry, and dishes. Dresses are around $30 and blouses/skirts $20. Really nice pieces and you don't need to waste time searching through racks of filler clothing. read more

In the old Fancy Tiger space, Sewn is a great little spot for one-of-a-kind finds, as they repurpose vintage clothes, and add their own design ideas to them. Cool, unique, and reasonably priced. They also have some cute jewelry as well! I love all of their vintage buttons and fabrics. I wish I could bring lots of my old clothes here, to have some of the artists work their magic into even more special pieces! Can't wait to come back and see some of their new items every so often. I fell in love, love, LOOOOVE! Everything is handmade and "Sewn!" I bought a Saucy 80's, sexy red nightgown that was on their sale rack. I loved it, and Julia allowed me to try it on. It fit perfectly. The clothes is so pretty, I found a sapphire blue with cheetah pattern coat that was a pretty penny, but very stylish. Most of their clothing reminds me of the cat walk. I ended up purchasing a hot eye mask that you microwave and also a 1950's thermos that's red and very vintage. You can definitely purchase more for the buck. Lovely! read more

I always knew there must be other places besides JoAnn Fabrics to get fabric and sewing notions, I just had no idea where those places might be! Well, here is one, and it's fantastic. This store has so many great things for crafts that involve needles (and no, intravenous drugs don't count, but this place could be like a drug if you really get going!). So many things I've never tried, and am semi-intimidated to try, but they seem like they'd walk you through it with a smile. I didn't spend much time in here because I didn't have a specific project in mind, but when the time comes around again that I have time and money and want to do something cool, this place will definitely be my go-to. read more

What a fun, funky store for unique vintage meets modern clothing! Each piece is one of a kind. The designers/ owners use vintage fabric and clothing and their awesome powers of sewing and design to make all sorts of fun pieces. My daughter (18) found an awesome vintage sundress that had been lightly embroidered. I found two jackets and a pin-tuck shirt perfect for summer nights for me. LOVE this store! I think my curiosity got the best of me when walking by Sewn. I have to admit that the patterned yarn covering the tree trunk outside had me intrigued, let me walk in and see what this place is about I tell myself. The store is truly unique. It feels as though all the items they take in they add a Sewn touch my sewing on a cutsie design to each item. Looking at the tops, skirts, and odd other items it's definitely adorable. I don't know if it's necessarily my style. I think I would walk in here again on the off chance something spoke to me, just not a must visit for me. If this is your style, I say go for it. read more

On a recent trip to Denver we stumbled upon Sewn and were very happy we did. Our hostess was a delight, her fella who came to scoop her up at closing time was fantastic, too! We spent a couple hours (at least) trying on clothes and learning about cowboy boots. In the end I adopted 3 sweaters and 2 jackets by pearl, a great silkscreen tee and my little peppercorn got himself a pair of boots and a customized western shirt. The handmade vintage coats and jewelry are my favorite items. There is so much to look at and everything makes you smile. Terrible customer service, I received a $35 tshirt as a gift and tried to return it 3 days later with a receipt which was paid for in cash and was told they "do not do returns" very rudely.
