This is THE place for all your rockabilly/goth clothes. Yes, it's more expensive than hot topic but this isn't hot topic. It's a locally owned store and the inventory constantly rotates. I wish I could afford to shop here more often. We drop in from time to time to look and occasionally buy. The staff here are really nice and don't mind browsing at all. My daughter got 14 eye docs from here a few years back because I can't think of a better place for docs. This was her first pair ever and she loves them. They have an entire wall of options. The down side is they don't have kids clothes. They have toddlers and adults but I imagine it's hard to find kid sizes in this anyway. read more

Recently purchased a pair of Demonia boots but the zipper was defective. Returned to the store within 48 hours to exchange for a new pair of boots only to be offered a "repair to the zipper" by the sales associates mom in the back of the store... I kid you not, this was a legitimate offer to rectify this situation in their eyes. Unless your "mom" is a bootmaker, which I doubt, no, offering to "fix" a pair of $140 boots is unacceptable. When I asked to get an exchange from the retailer (Demonia), the store manager told me it would take a few days to speak to a representative and there wasn't really a solution to the problem just "we will wait and see what they say". Obviously I was upset that I purchased a defective boot but I understand things happen and wasn't upset until the sales associates started to gaslight me saying "they tried to help me" and making me feel like I was the asshole for wanting a product to not be defective and not trusting someone's mom to fix it. I did receive a refund but on my way out the sales associate needed to chime in one last time saying "good luck buying them online, you'll probably suffer the same fate"... gee thanks for the vote of confidence! I'm sure Demonia would love to hear how little you value their merchandise seeing as how FashioNation sells a ton of these boots. I wonder if they're selling knockoffs or returns that are defective and have been "fixed by mom in the back"... They also have a very strict 14 day return policy and can't even guarantee that they can exchange without jumping through hoops and making YOU, the customer, feel like shit in the process. After this past year, I was looking forward to treating myself with a cool pair of boots and also wanted to support a local business. I have never in my life been treated so poorly by an entire staff claiming to be inclusive. Fuck this place. read more

I've been going to FashioNation for around 25 years. I'm not even sure how many pairs of steal toed Docs, Steel capped Undergrounds and other brands of boots I have bought here. Granted I don't buy Docs anymore because their quality is trash and they are super trendy, but there are plenty of other legit boots to buy at this iconic store. They've got boots, braces, all kinds of laces and colors. They carry a lot of clothing brands you'd have to order online and pay overseas shipping charges to get otherwise. The customer service is great and they make each customer feel welcome and special. Come support this Denver Institution because they are a diamond in the rough when it comes to quality products, great customer service and unique punk, skinhead, goth, rockabilly etc clothing and paraphernalia! read more

I wish I could say more about the Babysitter's side of the business, but I'm missing one vital ingredient, a baby. As for FasioNation, they have remained relative throughout the years. They buck the cheaply made, expensive, trends of the moment in favor of high quality consistency. FashioNation isn't the cheapest shop in town, but you truly get what you pay for. It's also a good place to go if you are looking for something, without knowing exactly what it is. On a semi related/unrelated topic, I bought some rather expensive platform boots with a real heel. They were meant for casual wear, clubbing, etc. At the time if was racing SuperSport on highly modified Honda F3 600. My daily driver was a Honda CBR 1100 Blackbird that would occasionally find it way onto the track. My track suit included a pair of Alpinestars boots. Armor aside, the platform boots outshined my Alpinestars simply because I could lock into my pegs using the heel. My coach would give a look of disappointment. While you could see the scuff marks when boots hit pavement, they held strong and never busted a stitch. My Blackbird was dubbed Hailey's Commet as when I took it to the ground with the pegs and muffler sparking, you could be sure I was wearing my FashiNation boots. A note on vinyal boots, they may look great, tucked away behind display glass, but one wrong steep and you will have a scratch for life. Some boots ship with a unibody soul. In my experience, they are primarily empty space. Flick the soul with your fingernail. If it sounds hollow, it probably is. My boot heels consist of visibly stacked blocs of rubber. If I needed another pair, i would go back to FashioNation. Their selection always surprises me. Definitely worth a look if you're anywhere near their shop. read more

I had a nostalgic trip down memory lane when I brought my daughter here to look for some clothes and boots. She had a particular look in mind and I knew just where to bring her. I shopped at the old store on 13th way back in the day along with Imi Jimi but haven't been in years. Walking into the store was like stepping back into my youth and I almost got a little teary seeing another Mom there with her daughter shopping for boots. It felt like a Hallmark commercial or an SNL skit (in all the best ways) about introducing your kids to places that help them own their looks and be comfortable in who they are. My daughter got a pair of sky-high boots, a couple of tops and a spiked collar. The staff was super sweet to her and made her day treating her like a person instead of some weirdo 6th grader who wants to wear bizarre clothes. That's a pretty big deal for her these days. read more

This is one of those stores that you drive by and go "hmm I wonder what they have ". So after a tip from a friend that they may have shoes I'd like I raced there at my earliest convenience only to my dismay that they were out of my size. But further shopping I found that they had a plethora of other shoe options that interested me. I haven't seen so many different styles of Dr. Martens in my life. FashioNation! One of my most favorite clothing stores ever! I have went here since the early 1990's. Fresh out of high school and into college! Back then they were located on 13th but since then they have now relocated to Broadway. The shop is as great as ever! There is a great selection of goth, punk and rockabilly clothing to select from. The ladies section is super cute with the blouses and skirts. FashioNation is best known for their wide, diverse selection of shoes. They have always been a great outlet for Doc Martens and that still holds true! I have bought many pairs of shoes in my day here and still have all those pairs of great shoes. The accessory section is as great as ever as well! Back when the place was on 13th, Babysitter's Nightmare was at a different entrance and I am not entirely sure if I ever went in there since I don't have children and don't plan to. Now Babysitter's Nightmare is located in the back room of the store where the accessories are and I got a good opportunity to look at this selection of merchandise well for the first time. The clothing is quite clever, fun and unique in it's logos for kids. Definitely not kids clothes that you find anywhere and is perfect if you know you will be having a punk, goth or glam child in your home. I bought a great crescent moon and bat sweater and some really cool rockabilly styled button down shirts. Yes, FashioNation still is amazing. This last visitation brought back very fond memories and obviously I will be back whenever I am in Denver without a single moment of hesitation. It is the last clothing store that is still around from back in those heyday 90's that I went to. Reminiscing can be fun, a bit bitter sweet but I have every intention of forging new memories with FashioNation! read more

This is one of my favorite places to shop! I come in often enough for the staff to recognize me and they're always so friendly. The prices are high, but absolutely worth it. So far, I've bought a belt, a pair of Demonias, and a couple smaller accessories, and they're all still in pretty great condition, even after a couple months of semi-frequent outdoor use. I bring my friends in all the time, either as return shoppers or to introduce them to the store! One of them (didn't catch names) offered a number of different options in styles and sizes and was so patient while I tried them all on. Love this place. First time in, excited and thrilled to see all the creepers and Docs lining the wall. Cool clothes, hair color, kids gear, all geared for freaks! The wall of fame had all the photos of the band members I grew up loving, that had visited the shop. That's worth checking out. Paul, the owner is the real deal, in the business for decades. He knows his stuff. I felt welcomed, just wanted to hang out. I did not buy anything because I was in a bit of a rush but will be back or check them out online. The staff was so kind and there was a ton of gorgeous pieces but as a very petite person i was not able to find much in the way of clothing or shoes that fit me. i am not sure if that is an issue of smaller sizes just selling out quickly but it was quite disheartening to see that their clothing was not very size inclusive in my range but also the plus size range. definitely a store for straight sizes only. read more
