I've been using Kerbey Lane Vision and Dr. Ross for more than a decade. I have a lot of astigmatism. For the last several years, the contact prescription he provided hasn't fully corrected my astigmatism. The person in charge of fitting contacts tried many brands of contact lenses in order to improve my acuity. There was never any improvement. I just settled for not seeing that great with my contact lenses (things were kind of blurry), and I wore glasses when I really wanted to see things clearly (like visiting museums and driving at night).
I finally switched things up and made an appointment with a different highly rated optometrist in Austin. The new optometrist assured me that he could fully correct my vision in contacts. He told me that with my level of astigmatism, it is super important to get the correct axis for the prescription. I doubted him, but had him do an eye exam. Guess what! My new contact prescription is awesome! I can see so clearly now when driving and running at the lake.
I can't believe I lived with a sub par contact prescription for so long. If you have a lot of astigmatism or a complicated contact lens prescription, don't make the same mistake I did and settle for Kerbey Lane Vision. Go see another optometrist who will get your prescription perfect and help you see clearly.
P.S. After many years with Dr. Ross (and because of my experience), my husband also visited a new eye doctor (a different one than I saw). When he filled the new prescription at his regular glasses store, the person noted that his prescription from the new doctor was reversed from the one he had been given by Dr. Ross (right eye and left eye). Now, my husband sees better in his new glasses because his prescription is correct. So consider getting a second opinion on your glasses prescription as well as your contacts. read more
