Wow, I wish all medical appointments went as well as my appt at Doublecreek Eye Care did earlier. I'm a male in my 40s and had lasik back in 2012 and have noticed my night vision has slowly been getting worse over the past few years. I went to an eye appt elsewhere in 2021 and they told me they couldn't do anything for me but I've noticed my night vision declined further since then so I made the appt. The staff are super friendly as is Dr Carroll. He is very informative and talked to me not only about my vision now but also how it will continue changing as I get older along with some advice around those subjects. He also was funny which was a bit unexpected but very much appreciated. I ended up buying glasses and am very happy with the way they took care of me. I'll definitely not be going anywhere else for my eye appts in the future. read more

I used to see Dr. Carroll when he worked at Tech Ridge Vision. Dr. Carroll takes the time to make sure I am getting the correct prescription that I will be happy with for the year. I have very bad vision and now also need multi focus which is hard to get my vision just right. Dr. Carroll gives me samples to try for awhile before ordering a years supply. Such amazing people! It felt very personal and they all took the time to get to know me as well as personalize my care. They told me exactly what what I needed and letting me know what I didn't so I would not pay for things I'm not going to benefit from. I went back weeks later to pick up my glasses without an appointment and the wonderful woman at the front desk recognized me and addressed me by name. read more

My experience was horrible start to finish. The doctor used an ableist microaggression before he even landed in his chair, after only exchanging names. I was so caught off guard that I couldn't speak up for myself to ask him to slow down the lens comparisons so I could visually process them. I didn't exactly feel empowered to challenge the person who was in a position to decide how much attention he wanted to pay to giving me a glasses prescription that works for me. The person in the glasses shop part of the place wasn't wearing her mask properly and then after I was done with the whole ordeal and decided to order my actual glasses elsewhere, I discovered that the prescription I was given lacked the pupil distance that is necessary for any company to process the prescription. Insurance only allows for one eye exam a year, and I didn't even get a usable prescription from this one. They said they only measure the pupil distance when you order glasses from their tiny selection and offered to do it if I come back in and pay them more money. I don't normally post negative reviews that could damage someone's business, but this is completely unacceptable. read more

She found me the perfect pair of frames that were way out of my norm! And I love them! Dr.Carroll is the best optometrist I have ever had. He is passionate in what he does and is very informative. Dr. Carrol gets my highest recommendation! He always takes the time to show you the inner workings of your eye and gives you the straight up technical facts and explains them to you. He has an enthusiasm about the human eye that draws you into the technical details. Some might be a bit uneasy about viewing the inner workings of your individual eyes but I am totally engrossed to view and understand the analysis! He obviously loves what he does and he does what he does to the highest standards! If I ever move away from the Round Rock area I would still make the drive! Dr. Carroll helped my boyfriend with a tear in his cornea a few years ago and he was so helpful and genuinely caring. He came in on his day off before a vacation he was going on to help my boyfriend with his follow up. My boyfriend and I came back the following year to get our annual checkup and had the same great care from him. We forgot to make an appointment last year and realized he had opened his own practice and I researched where his new location was because I wasn't interested in seeing anyone else. He and his staff are so pleasant and wonderful. They are very helpful and knowledgeable, especially since I don't wear glasses they were helpful at all my options my insurance covered. Dr. Carroll is like no other eye doctor I've ever been to. He's been working on my since he was at a previous clinic and I followed him. I'm a very difficult patient. I have better than perfect distance vision but need readers but I'm too lazy to keep up with reading glasses. He took on the challenge of getting me in contacts. Huge challenge to put someone in contacts for reading, without blowing out your distance vision. Being pre-diabetic he was also very vigilant on keeping up with my eye health. He always greets you with the nicest smile and loves to spend time with you and his goal is to make you see correctly. It's not only him, his office staff is amazing and one of them came with him from his previous practice. He's in Round Rock..I live in Bastrop. That tells you how much I think of him and his patience, kindness and ability to work with such a difficult patient. I've never met anyone like him. You will love him and his staff! read more
