Professional, Caring and Compassionate Eye Care…read more I want to commend Dr. Tijerina and the entire staff at Texan Eye on Starwood Drive in Cedar Park for the excellent care I received. I developed a swollen, infected eye that was causing me significant discomfort. When I contacted the practice, they responded promptly and arranged an appointment with Dr. Tijerina. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the professionalism and courtesy of everyone I encountered. The front office staff were welcoming and efficient, the nurses were attentive and caring, and Dr. Tijerina was professional, compassionate, and genuinely concerned about my condition. The entire experience gave me confidence that my care was being taken seriously. It is refreshing to encounter a medical practice where professionalism is combined with genuine compassion for the patient. I commend the entire team for their dedication, courtesy, and commitment to quality patient care. I wholeheartedly recommend Texan Eye and Dr. Tijerina to anyone seeking professional, responsive, and compassionate eye care in the Cedar Park and greater Austin area.

She told me Dr Wong was very good at spending time with his patients. She was right. He explained very thoroughly my options and what he suggested based upon my situation. This gave me confidence in my decision. Surgery was better than expected, mainly because his pre-op person did a great job explaining what to expect and being coached and encouraged by Dr Wong all thru the procedure. It's not easy going thru this but his consistent encouragement makes it 100% better. All the staff are professional, friendly and on it. I've already recommended them to friends. Come see for yourself.

It was so welcoming which is nice when you're about to have eye surgery. Dr. Wong answered any and all questions I had regarding lasik. He took his time during all of my appointments. When his staff went through the pricing and procedure, she went through it all so clearly I didn't have too many questions after it. I can't say enough about my experience here! During surgery, Dr. Wong narrated every little detail which was comforting so that I didn't have anxiety lying there for 20 minutes not knowing what was going on. Do your research on who you think is best for you but I will say out of all the places I reached out to, this place was by far the best!!!

This place is huge. Lots of employees, techs and doctors and specialists and laser Center, you name…read moreit they do it!!!! I felt it was a good experience. They're very organized and even the doctors come out and call for their patient which I was extremely impressed by!!!! I would nearly guarantee you that is a typical!! So if it looks like a team and smells like a team and quacks like a team it is a team! They have an app and so you can complete the majority of your paperwork other than the Hyppa consent before you go for your appointment and save yourself about 20 minutes worth of paper. That's what I did. It wasn't difficult. When I called for the appointment they told me they would send me a link and they did indeed. We arrived about 10 minutes early and waited probably a total of 20 minutes before I was called back by one of the techs. He went over with me verbally- my symptoms and my concerns. We did some testing with advanced equipment-it seems like it gets more able every year.... and I'm sure it measured my I took photos of my corny is etc. etc. it also did the refractory testing and although you still had to answer one or two or three or one..... it was minimal and that's always my least favorite part. He also put the drops in my eyes so that they would dilate as I hadn't had a dilated exam in quite some time and my baby cataracts are bothering me quite a bit. After the machine he put me in an exam room and let me know that we were waiting for an actual room where I would eventually see the doctor and that he would come and retrieve me which he did. It might've been a 10 minute wait if that, it wasn't bad at all. He then brought me back out to the waiting room so that another gentleman could call me in on the other end of the building. He took me to another machine which was some kind of advanced photography of my ophthalmic system. I felt bad for him because he was squirming all over stooping to get these pictures, turns out that a patient's family member had borrowed his chair for the family members exam so that they could sit down during it which left him hanging in the wind. I asked him if he was OK and he advised that he just had done a huge work out yesterday and so his calves and thighs were really sore so when he had to squat it made him squirm. He was very nice and professional and always had a smile on his face. After that exam I was taken into an office to await my appointment with Chelsea Devitt. I believe she is an optometrist. She introduced herself along with the person that was going to record all of her comments right into my record. I find all this high-tech awesome and love they are not wasting paper!!! After a brief introduction she advised me she would be doing the exam and then would review everything with me when she was done but that she would be talking throughout so that the person at the computer could document everything. I agreed and she proceeded. She gave me a very thorough eye exam and even went and got her headgear so she would have the brightest light available to check out the lattice work on my retina's which I had had laser treatment for when I was a preteen. It was kind of neat that the text did all the preliminary so that she could focus on the clinical aspect. When done we did have a discussion and we talked about my cataracts and I told her that they indeed were bothering me substantially but that if they didn't meet Medicare criteria I would wait because I was not going to pay out-of-pocket to have them removed. She said they are nearly at the point And that at this time next year she sure they would be eligible for surgery. She understood that considering I pay for insurance that I didn't want to also have to pay out of pocket for the removal. I appreciated that she didn't push or question that. She then asked me if I wanted a written prescription, which I did and she then gave me directions on how to get back to the front and dismissed me. I got out to the reception area with no problem. I was totally shocked when they asked me if I wanted a written prescription because it would be $45. I have never had to pay separately for a prescription in my entire life. I know they build my insurance for the exam and I guess at all the other places I went it was included. I did want it in case I wanted to get new glasses as my other prescription was expired so I did pay the $45. They printed the rx out and gave it to me. We set an appointment for next year at this time which I may or may not have to change but why not. I was very impressed and was shocked to determine that I had been in there for two hours. I would definitely recommend it and I am glad that I am reestablished with a local optometrist and someone that can take care of my Cataracs when they are ready!!!!

Patient Experience Feedback - Cedar Park Location…read more I wanted to share feedback regarding our experience at the Cedar Park office today. My 14-year-old son has a stye that has not been improving, so we scheduled an appointment to have his eye evaluated. There appears to have been a scheduling miscommunication, and when we arrived, we were informed that his appointment was actually scheduled for Friday rather than today. I understand that scheduling mistakes can happen, and I was not expecting the office to create an immediate physician appointment if none was available. What was disappointing was how the situation was handled once we were there. I explained that my concern was simply whether my son's eye appeared serious enough that we should seek urgent or emergency care. I asked whether a nurse or other clinical staff member might be able to briefly assess the situation or provide guidance. The response was repeatedly that there was no doctor available, no nurse available, and that the office could not advise us whether emergency care was appropriate. What made this particularly frustrating was that the interaction felt focused entirely on what the office could not do, without any effort to help us determine an appropriate next step. Even if the office was unable to evaluate him without an appointment, a more patient-centered response--such as explaining what symptoms would warrant urgent care, helping identify another available appointment, or offering another reasonable option--would have made a significant difference. I had rearranged my work schedule to bring my son in, so the scheduling confusion was already inconvenient. The lack of helpful guidance at the front desk made the overall experience unnecessarily frustrating. I am sharing this because I believe the issue was less about appointment availability and more about communication and patient care. I hope the office can use this feedback to help front-desk staff respond more constructively when a patient arrives with a clinical concern but cannot immediately be seen.

Everything went great until it didn't. If you are considering RLE surgery, do your research. It's…read morenot what they promised or delivered. The surgery went fine and my eyes healed perfectly BUT I started experiencing blurry vision at all distances shortly thereafter. I was in the office about every two weeks for about 5-1/2 months after surgery. I was told to use 3 different eye drops by 3 different Dr's/techs. None of which did anything to correct the problem. My left eye is so blurry it feels like I have something in it all day long. To make matters worse, parts of my vision that were good before are now blurry. I can read text that I wasn't able to before without readers, however, it's like double vision and I can't see anything with any detail. When I finally got to see Dr Lancaster close to the 6 month mark, he told me my only option was to have one of the multi-focal lenses replaced with a mono focal lens, which he originally talked me out of prior to the surgery - oh and here is the best part - I was going to have to pay for the surgery because it had been six months!! So much for lifetime guarantee. Oh, and the BS they tell you about being to make any necessary corrections to the lenses, if necessary, after the surgery was not true. They never even offered that as a solution. They even sent me to an outside retina specialist who confirmed the blurry vision had nothing to do with my retina. I called three times trying to speak to someone about those results and no one would return my call. Its been over 2 months and crickets. I have been trying to get my medical records from them so I can go somewhere else to get my eyes fixed, but so far they have failed to give them to me. I spoke to someone who said they would email them, they didn't. I've left several messages because they don't answer the phone and I have received zero call backs. If you are willing to spend the 12k for this surgery, I suggest finding someone else because, in this case, you don't get what you pay for.
