I highly recommend SharpeVision for lasik surgery! My pre consultation appointment, the surgery, and the follow-up appointment went incredibly smooth. It was overall a great experience. I've been wearing contacts for over 15 years, so I was a bit nervous but also excited to have better vision. The team explained every detail and I felt comfortable/taken care of! read more

The worst treatment I have ever received. First, they didn't tell me they were going to dilate my eyes but did so, without my consensus, and then left me to drive myself home, in broad daylight, after the visit. Needless to say I was basically blind in that bright afternoon sunlight on the drive home almost causing an accident when I couldn't see well enough to avoid swerving into a center median while turning. Second, I was never notified the exorbitant cost of the dilation on checkout and only noticed it on the single bill I finally received several months later. Third, I told them I could not receive postal mail but they insisted I give them a postal mailbox anyway. They never sent me a bill electronically, only through the postal mail, and then they added late fees when I did not pay the bill but I never received. I only received the paper bill by happenstance. Fourth, I was told I would receive a glasses and contact prescription but at check out they only had a glasses prescription and they required me to pay $75 extra if I wanted that. Later, when discussing the exhorbitant bill with the billing department, they only credited me $70 even though my credit card statements showed I paid $75. Fifth, the glasses prescription I was provided was rejected by two different online providers as being an invalid prescription. Moreover, when I went to a brick and mortar shop to get contact and glasses prescriptions they verified that the prescription was nowhere near accurate and was unusable. Sixth, the building department was completely unhelpful. They gladly removed a charge here but then added it over here so the final amount was still the same. They didn't seem to care that the service was poor, the prescription was invalid, my safety was put in jeopardy for really anything else. There is nothing good that I can say about this shop and, personally, I will never go back to them and trust them with my vision. read more

Everything went great until it didn't. If you are considering RLE surgery, do your research. It's not what they promised or delivered. The surgery went fine and my eyes healed perfectly BUT I started experiencing blurry vision at all distances shortly thereafter. I was in the office about every two weeks for about 5-1/2 months after surgery. I was told to use 3 different eye drops by 3 different Dr's/techs. None of which did anything to correct the problem. My left eye is so blurry it feels like I have something in it all day long. To make matters worse, parts of my vision that were good before are now blurry. I can read text that I wasn't able to before without readers, however, it's like double vision and I can't see anything with any detail. When I finally got to see Dr Lancaster close to the 6 month mark, he told me my only option was to have one of the multi-focal lenses replaced with a mono focal lens, which he originally talked me out of prior to the surgery - oh and here is the best part - I was going to have to pay for the surgery because it had been six months!! So much for lifetime guarantee. Oh, and the BS they tell you about being to make any necessary corrections to the lenses, if necessary, after the surgery was not true. They never even offered that as a solution. They even sent me to an outside retina specialist who confirmed the blurry vision had nothing to do with my retina. I called three times trying to speak to someone about those results and no one would return my call. Its been over 2 months and crickets. I have been trying to get my medical records from them so I can go somewhere else to get my eyes fixed, but so far they have failed to give them to me. I spoke to someone who said they would email them, they didn't. I've left several messages because they don't answer the phone and I have received zero call backs. If you are willing to spend the 12k for this surgery, I suggest finding someone else because, in this case, you don't get what you pay for. read more

Sharpevision was an excellent provider for my Lasik surgery. If I had known how easy and caring the experience would be from start to finish, I would have done it much sooner. The outcome has been such a quality of life improvement. Every staff member -- front office, nurses, doctors, and finally my surgeon -- all exceeded my expectations for their professionalism, kindness, information, and support. If you're considering corrective surgery, I highly recommend a consultation to meet them; they welcomed all my questions and made recommendations based on my vision health, needs, and goals. read more

If you are LOOKing into getting Lasik surgery, LOOK NO FURTHER! I came in a month ago and had a consultation with Dr. Forrest and Melissa. Both were incredible! So sweet, patient, and down-to-earth, I was sold instantly with just them alone. In addition to the great staff, SharpeVision has beautiful interior decor, clean facilities, and state of the art equipment. The only thing you may be hesitant about would be the pricing. Luckily, if you receive a consult from somewhere else, and receive a lower quote, they WILL price match! I had my procedure just yesterday, and WOW. I am so impressed, there aren't enough words to describe how amazing SharpeVision is! Dr. Lancaster was my ophthalmologist who performed the procedure. On the day of my surgery, he came in with all the answers I needed, and described the procedure in detail. The procedure only took about 14 minutes, and as soon as I was done, I was able to walk out of the office seeing more than I did before! Literally, everything the staff went over (ie: rest for 4-5 hours post-procedure, stinging, difficulty opening eyes, halos, light sensitivity, pain, etc) happened, but since they described everything in detail, my anxiety was eased tremendously. Lastly, even though SharpeVision is closed on the weekends, they make special arrangements for their patients to come in on Saturday (post-op). Other offices I had my consult with make you WAIT until the next business day! NOTE: With covid in place, your guests cannot accompany you as they did before. Prior to covid, they had this awesome window where your guests can watch the whole procedure. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. However, if you are a social media junkie like myself, I had the whole thing recorded and posted to my story THE SAME DAY. read more

I asked for lasek and got PRK. I asked for both eyes to be for clear long distance and when I came out they said they gave me one eye distance and the other one for up close. They do not listen to what you want. read more

My husband pushed me to get laser eye correction after a service at SharpeVision Modern LASIK. I have a high prescription and did not think I would qualify or that it would be too pricey of a procedure. I was very pleased with the options and the pricing was better than I had expected under the circumstances. I had the PRK service, which went very smoothly. I did not experience any pain or discomfort during the procedure and it was quick. The staff is very friendly and maintains consistent communication and transparency. The establishment is clean, Swanky, and inviting. I would definitely recommend for anyone considering laser eye correction! read more

SharpeVision Modern Lasik - Waiting area - Optometrists Near Me - Austin, Texas

I found Sharpe Vision via a Google search. It was easy to setup an initial consultation online. Services were more affordable than an alternative I had found. Friendly staff. Testimonial: I found myself resorting to vision surgery because my contacts prescription is very strong and I could no longer find a company to make my lenses. I came to Sharpe Vision and was met with the most caring people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Dr. Forrest assured me they could help, and Dr. Lancaster was very reassuring as well. The day of my surgery I was well prepared for what was going to happen, and Rocky, Melissa, and Jesse made sure I was comfortable. I adore these people and how much they care for their patients, it honestly shows. I'm now 1 week post surgery, and my vision is drastically improved! I went from having a glimmer of hope with nearsightedness including astigmatism (-13 in both eyes [I could see clearly without glasses or contacts between 1"- 6" in front of my face and everything was blurry to give you an idea of how bad my vision was]), to 20/20 vision! I am so happy they were able to help me, and I think they can help you too. read more

SharpeVision Modern Lasik - A happy, grateful patient! - Optometrists Near Me - Austin, Texas

I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Lancaster and his team at SharpeVision. I've always been weird about my eyes and they took into consideration my extreme anxiety about the procedure throughout the whole process. They did everything to ensure I was comfortable and explained every single step along the way. The confidence and care Dr. Lancaster provided exceeded my expectations. He even gives you his direct number to call or text about anything. Couldn't be happier with my 20/15 vision! read more

I came into Sharpe vision for a consultation about a month and a half ago to see if I qualified for lasik. McKenzie walked me through everything that would happen and looked at my eyes prior to the optometrist coming into look at everything and answer any questions that I might have. I qualified for lasik and ICL but wanted to continue to do research. The staff didn't pressure me into buying into any services the day I came in for my consultation, I went to a couple other places but was still super impressed by the staff as well as the equipment that's onsite at the office. On the day of surgery Dr.Blechman checks on your vision prior to Dr. Lancaster coming into explain the whole procedure. It was a quick 7 minute procedure but the staff ensures you are comfortable! I'm happy to finally be able to see more clearly after such a long time with contacts and glasses! Highly recommend sharpemodern vision for their expertise and staff! read more

I would recommend Dr. Lancaster and Dr. Pham 5x over. My experience with their care was by and large nothing short of exceptional. Dr. Lancaster made me feel like a valued patient and I felt that my treatment was important to him. The office staff and medical assistant were equally amazing. Even better, I now have 20/20 vision and can see clear as day without any astigmatism! Life changing experience at an affordable price. TYSM for the experience! read more

Perfect 2020 vision now! I actually have better than 2020 vision post lasik, 2015! The free consultation was very informative and covered any questions I had and more. I learned I was a good candidate for lasik and what factors make up a good lasik candidate. The surgery itself was super quick, roughly 2 minutes in total of actual surgery (1 minute or so per eye). Dr. Lancaster talked me through every step; roughly 30 seconds each was to measure the eye and then 30 seconds for the lasik. Post surgery, my eyes were irritated (this is normal and to be expected) and then 5ish hours post surgery, I could see nearly perfectly without any aid (just a bit of dry eye). A month post surgery, I have no complaints. Every now and then (maybe once a week?) I do need to use artificial tears, but again, this was told to me and they said it should continue to improve over time. I've hyped up the smooth and easy surgery to family and friends, especially those with extreme vision limits (such as -5; my prescription was -1.35 and even then, the change was stellar). My only wish is that I did lasik sooner! Goodbye glasses and contacts. Thank you very much Sharpe Vision! read more

I got my surgery on Sep 22nd of this year, and am soooo happy with the results! The whole staff was amazing!! Doctor Lancaster was voted one the best surgeons in Austin for a reason! :) During the initial free consultation, the staff was very kind and answered all my questions. We scheduled the surgery for the next month. The day of surgery I was nervous, but both the staff and Dr. Lancaster made me feel at ease, and they answered my remaining questions. The surgery itself was quick, roughly 5 minutes. During the surgery, the doctor explained each machine he would be using, and would count down on the laser time, which helped ease my nerves. They provided great after-care instructions. I won't lie, 1 hour after the surgery, the pain was a little intense, but their comfort drops worked their magic. After taking a nice long nap, I woke up with perfect vision! I would do this procedure all over again with SharpeVision. One of the best choices I've made! read more

Procedure: PRK Date of surgery: 4/7/21 Date of this review: 5/30/21 (~7 weeks post surgery). First off, I want say, this review is absolutely genuine and from my heart. I am absolutely grateful and blessed I found this place and Dr Lancaster. After I got the go-ahead from my ophthalmologist (due to potential glaucoma I have been on watch for past 7+ years), I went ahead and had 4 different consultations for Lasik/PRK, and NONE of other 3 places were as patient or more comforting than here with SharpeVision. I confess, I am one of those patients that will ask a MILLION questions... and why wouldn't I, when I wanted to be absolutely sure I knew exactly what to expect and everything. After all, these are my eyes, and to me, sight is the most important sense. Other doctors/offices were either rushing me, or they almost talked down to me, or didn't give me a good feeling when I asked specific questions about the procedure. NOT HERE.... Dr Forest was extremely patient and treated me with respect, and answered ALL my questions and made me feel at ease. Then I wanted to meet with the Dr Lancaster (the surgeon), and asked if that would be ok. Yes, it is. And they allowed me to meet with him on 1:1, and same thing as with Dr Forest -- Nothing but respect, patience, and answered everything with honesty. I even sent some emails to Dr Lancaster (pre and post surgery), and he personally replied as well. My PRK surgery was on 4/7/21 -- no issues at all, was fairly quick, and was painless. During surgery Dr Lancaster talked me through everything that was about to happen (so no surprises), which I really appreciated. Absolutely everything that they told me what to expect during that first few days and week post surgery happened (it was very comforting knowing it all beforehand). 1 month after my surgery, I met again with Dr Forest, and she informed me my vision was 20/15 (better than 20/20), and that I could even see more improvements in the next 3-6 months, which is mind-blowing to me, since at this point I am already I am seeing things so CRISP, and CLEAR.... it is amazing to say the least. After having wore glasses/contacts for the past (almost) 30 years, it is such a blessing to be able to be glasses/contacts FREE now. Dr Lancaster, if you are reading this review, I want to personally thank you, Dr Forest (and rest of your team) from bottom of my heart. Because of YOU doctor, I am able to type this review now without wearing glasses. Every single day I think about how happy I am without glasses and that I am grateful I did this surgery with you. I have already recommend you / SharpeVision to a coworker of mine who is considering Lasik/PRK, and he is already scheduled for his Lasik in a few weeks :) THANK YOU DOCTOR!!! read more

If you've ever considered lasik or PRK... DO IT! I'm SO ECSTATIC over my vision, the clarity, the sharpness, the DETAIL of trees and leaves and seeing far away, headaches from vision issues are GONE! I'm over the moon and HIGHLY recommend this! I interviewed 12 different laser eye surgery clinics in the Austin and surrounding area and narrowed it down to two: Sharpevision won me over with availability on scheduling and even price matched the quote I got from my second choice clinic. So I recommend Sharpe for friendliness, life time warranty on your eyes, cleanliness and being organized! Also the actual procedure lasts up to one minute per eye and you don't feel anything so be brave, get over the fear of something near your eye and DO IT you won't ever regret it. I appreciate my doctors patience as I kept calling and worrying about my long PRK healing time for my left eye (my second time having PRK done since 2005 so for me it was long but it doesn't happen to everyone), as soon as I got the Omega eye drops she recommended my healing sped up! read more

Unfortunately, I had gone to another different place for my lasik surgery and the experience was not good (I was immediately taken to surgery without enough time for the anti-anxiety meds to kick in). The staff here was so nice and calming. To say I was having major anxiety is an understatement. Let me start by saying all the staffs here were extremely helpful during my visit! They really provided me with a wonderful experience. It has been three weeks since my LASIK surgery, and I am seeing 20/20! To be honest, I was frightened when I first came for consultation, and I didn't even know if I want to have something done to my eyes. I saw stories about people who have been suffering endlessly because of LASIK, therefore, naturally I was afraid something bad would happen to me. But Laura and Dr.Forest are very knowledgeable, all questions and concerns were answered. After the consultation, even to my surprise, I decided to have the surgery done only 2 days after. I wouldn't mind to do it again. :) read more

I had such a great experience here at SharpeVision Modern Lasik. I went in for a consultation, and scheduled my lasik appointment for the following week. The day of my surgery, all of the employees were very helpful in calming me down, explaining the procedure, and the post operation care. The doctors that examined my eyes were extremely professional and caring to my needs and concerns. The surgery was very fast, painless, and surprisingly easy. So happy with the process and the professionalism of the entire staff. Highly recommend!!! read more

Lasik has been on my mind for at least the past 5 years, so as a gift to myself, I finally decided to do it this year. I read countless reviews from other practices and settled on doing my first consultation at Sharpe. First off McKenzie at the front desk was amazing throughout the initial process and so on. The Drs were thorough in their examinations and on surgery day, walked me through the process as it was happening to help calm my nerves. It went amazingly quick and after a couple hours of slight discomfort, I was able to see normally. Post op 1 day, my vision is becoming clearer/sharper and I can drive without contacts, so I'm excited to see how things progress from here! I wish I hadn't waited so many years. read more

Had my LASIK surgery in August, currently have 20/15 vision, which is AMAZING! Highly recommend for the following reasons: Clean and modern facility, KIND and professional staff, (they even offer flavored Topo Chico at your first visit!) They give you a full eye exam at no cost, I actually found out one of my eyes contact and glasses prescription was wrong by my old eye doctor, TIERED pricing (I visited 3 LASIK doctors and none of them compared in service, pricing or cleanliness) Payment plans avail (I paid upfront because pricing was so good!) and EASY scheduling. I was able to see as soon as the procedure was over, napped, used my drops and was able to drive myself and shop the next day. Life changing from -5 prescription to perfect vision. I had worn glasses since I was 3 years old until I was 16 years old and from there I wore both glasses and contacts until I was 23. I was tired of the hassle and struggle of wearing contacts and glasses. The dry eyes, the blurry vision from the contacts shifting around, not being able to swim without seeing, my glasses fogging up every time I went from a hot to cold temperature change (opening the oven, walking from outside in the winter to a heated room). I was tired of it! So what did I do? I decided to look into LASIK eye surgery. I had my FREE consultation done at SharpeVision modern LASIK. WOW! Their facilities are immaculate. The Modern LASIK in the company name definitely fits their clinic! I was even offered complimentary wine but I decided to go with hot chocolate made from their huge Starbucks machine in the lobby! The consultation was a very thorough dilated eye exam where all of my questions and concerns were answered by an understanding and caring staff. They helped me sign up for financing to pay for my procedure which only took 10 minutes and set me up for my surgery. The day of my surgery I was very nervous! I trusted Dr. Sharpe and the up to date technology they had but it's still my eyes and of course I was imagining the worst that could happen to me. The staff and valium helped with my nerves immensely. The procedure was quick, smooth and I only experienced a little bit of discomfort for a few hours after. Once that discomfort went away, I could see! I had never known what having good vision was like until I had my LASIK eye surgery done! it was way better than wearing contacts and glasses. It took me a while to adjust to my new amazing vision. I would go to bed thinking I still had my contacts in my eyes, gruntingly get up out of my comfy bed to go take them out, and halfway to the bathroom I'd realize, "Wait! Theres no contacts in my eyes! I had my surgery done! I can see! What?!". I'm so glad I had my surgery done. One of the best investments I did for myself! I recommend SharpeVision modern LASIK to all of my friends and family... and to you! read more

This LONG review comes to you from someone who has been told for the last 8 years by a myriad of optometrists that LASIK was just not going to happen for me. So let me tell you, I have not been able to SEE for 23 YEARS. I'm 31, so that's most of my adolescent and adult life. Dr. Sharpe and his team fixed that in 24 hours. I am a super high anxiety, Type A person for the most part, so besides the fact that every eye doctor thought my eyeballs were shameful (too blind, too bumpy and too scarred from sleeping in my contacts), I couldn't imagine someone going near my eye with a laser. My vision is a -4.75 and -5.50, meaning that if I was in Nightmare on Elm Street and someone stood right in front of me and I had no glasses, I'd be Freddy's first victim. I can't see anything past my hand in front of my face and even that's blurry but I still wasn't sold on LASIK. My husband met Dr. Sharpe during the Summer Cinema at Central Market, meaning he was already good enough to withstand being baked in an oven to watch a 30 year old movie just to meet people. He turned out to genuinely be the nicest guy ever and isn't really selling anything. He wants to help you SEE. I happened to be down the street from the office and popped in for an impromptu consultation-completely FREE. You spend 90 minutes with the team (Rocky, Dr. Patel, Heather and Laura) getting measured, checked and double checked. In between, you have your choice of Starbucks tea and coffee (or hot water and lemon if that's your thing). The whole practice is comfortable with (possibly faux) animal skin dentist chairs and Restoration Hardware couches and plenty of reading material. I had my eyes done the very next day. Dr. Sharpe had given me a booklet to explain but also went over it again that morning. He gives you another eye test just to make sure he's solid on how far he can push your vision. I told him about my anxiety and was rewarded with medication. I didn't even really need it; Dr. Sharpe could lead you blindfolded across an active volcano and you'd be totally confident and calm. Between him and Rocky, it was a contest on who could numb my eyes the best, which was great for me. The actual procedure was not more than two minutes for both eyes. I sat up and looked at the clock. And waved at my husband in the lobby. And saw the cars pass by on Burnet. Minutes before that, I had wrecked a crash tray because I couldn't see it or what was on it. I prepped for the pain of a thousand burning suns afterwards. Dr. Sharpe and Rocky gave me my first round of drops and a home supply of "comfort" drops, which were numbing drops with artificial tears. I used them at the worst burning, right before my nap, which felt more like when you get soap in your eyes and don't want to open them. I napped for 3 hours and woke up seeing EVERYTHING. Pain free, I might add. Follow up was the next morning and I drove myself in sunglasses, purely because I could. Dr. Sharpe does another eye test and I was seeing 20/10 less than 24 hours out. That two steps better than 20/20. If I thought my eyeballs would survive the snot bubble tears withheld, I would have cried until they asked me to leave. I hugged everyone there like they were my family. After that much trust, they truly are. I have asked around with friends and other places are just dabbling in LASIK. They rent their tools (Dr. Sharpe owns his) and can charge up to $6000 for a unmediated, sterile, short experience that leaves you wondering what you really DID pay for. Dr. Sharpe's pricing is about average but he runs specials all the time. You get way more comfort and peace of mind here because everyone is focused on getting you the best result. I also got to donate my old frames to the Lions Club, which is where I refer my family as the school social worker right around the corner from the practice. I'm still in shock about the world I see around me. It's sharp and clear and most of all, RIGHT THERE. So ask me anything. I'll wear the t-shirt and mug and everything. This has completely changed my life in just a few short days. So don't listen to the naysayers; go get checked. It's a fair bit of money but it's one of the best investments you'll make. read more

Holy! What can I say?! LASIK has been on my mind for YEARS, after finally saying enough with my glasses and contacts I knew SharpeVision was the right place for me! From my consultation to the actual procedure, everything was flawless. Makenzie made all of my testing fun and informative, Dr. Blechman super sweet and took her time answering any questions. Day of my procedure Dr. Lancaster was very friendly, explaining everything that was happening as he was doing them after letting him know I was a "checklist" type of person so I could mentally notate which portion of the procedure we were on and "how much longer" it would take. Dr. Lancaster even reached out later same day to ensure I was doing ok and to let me know if I had any questions or concerns I could reach out. 10/10 fully recommend! read more

Every. single. person in this office went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and knew what was going on at all times. From my consultation to financing to post-op if I ever had any questions or concerns they were more than happy to help and extremely knowledgeable. Day of surgery was amazing. Not a super important detail but they let you pick the music in the room that plays during the procedure and this was honestly such a big part of calming my nerves. The entire experience was enjoyable. I was never stressed or unsure or in the dark of what to expect. The actual surgeon who performed the lasik even texted me the evening of the surgery to check in and make sure everything was going okay once I got home. Thank you so much for taking such great care of me! I recommend this place 10000000 times! The staff is amazing and knowledgeable!

My prescription was -5.25 ("I need my glasses to find my glasses" bad) and I'd run out of contacts. It was time. I chose this place because of Yelp, and because the other place I called couldn't even fit me in for a consult for another two weeks-- I needed this to happen fast, while I still had my courage. I called on a Monday, had a consultation on Wednesday, and had 20/15 vision by Saturday afternoon. Best decision of my life. Nobody was more scared of LASIK than I was. Truth. I've got a thing about eyes, a serious serious thing. Blood draws? Surgery? Natural childbirth? Snakes? Spiders? No big. Touch my eye? Oh HELLLLLL no. I was completely panicked even going in for the consult, and you can't imagine what a basket case I was the day of the surgery. The staff was unbelievably calming, soothing, infinitely reassuring, and super friendly. From the first phone contact on, it felt like every single person there truly cared about my comfort, and I say this as someone who isn't easily placated. Nobody ever seemed frustrated by my anxiety or skittishness, and everyone there was amazing. The procedure itself only took a couple minutes, and Dr. Sharpe -- wow. He was like Valium in human form (not in a "he's boring" way-- he's not! I mean in a "the most calming human being I have ever met in my entire life" way). I went home, took a nap, felt a little stinging, but within six hours of the surgery the discomfort was gone and it was like I just naturally had amazing vision. Nearly a month later, I have some haloing at night, and my eyes still need drops a couple times a day. TOTALLY WORTH IT. read more
