After nearly two decades, this is STILL the absolute highlight of my yearly health routine--and honestly, it just keeps getting better. This place is truly something special. From the moment you walk in, it feels elevated, polished, and genuinely luxurious in a way that's hard to find. Jan and Joseph are the heart and soul of the experience--consistently incredible, warm, attentive, and just on another level when it comes to care and expertise. They make you feel valued every single visit. Dr. Patel is simply exceptional. The level of detail, professionalism, and trust is unmatched. The entire team delivers a rare combination of high-end service and personal touch that makes this practice stand out as completely unique. If you're looking for premium, top-tier eye care that feels both luxurious and genuinely caring--this is it. I recommend them to absolutely everyone. read more

This place came recommended by my son's eye doctor. Really excellent service. My son was treated like a king! He loves his new glasses (okay it took a few days) and the staff made sure to pay extra attention to the fit and give some knowledge on how to take care of the glasses and how to put the straps on and all that jazz. Prices were reasonable actually and less than what I was expecting and they have some nice styles in the kids section. read more

Jackman Eye - First pair of glasses!! - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Austin, Texas

I went to Jackman Eye for almost 30 years. 3 years ago, they left my insurance network and did not inform me. I was confused about the increased cost, but I did not have time to look into it until recently. Then it turns out that they submitted my claims for the last two years (as out of network)...then stopped this year (with no advance notice). They have made multiple mistakes, and told me something different each time I talked to them, and it took me hours to figure out what the problem was. They were very rude about it. They also try and up sell you expensive extras that you don't need... read more

Lots of attention to details in this clinic and the people are wonderful. Strongly recommend.

Everyone I met at Jackman Eye was a consummate professional from the welcoming receptionist to the friendly technician who put me through the eye exam paces. When Dr. Tekell arrived to my room, she put me at ease immediately. Her warmth was only outmatched by her subject matter expertise. Who knew that my dry eyes were not something I just have to live with? She laid out a research-backed treatment plan that seems to be working. She also said that my vision is pretty much unchanged, so told me not to bother replacing my glasses this year. Gotta love that honesty and lack of upselling! I'm so glad to have found my go-to optometry practice! read more

We had a fantastic experience working with Jackman Eye to get glasses for our 2-year-old (not the easiest customer!). They were incredibly patient and understanding, and went the extra mile to help make it as positive of an experience as possible. Thank you so much! read more

THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST. If you need an incredible optometrist, that has unique, quality of not just service, but the staff is not just good they are supreme. I have been seeing Dr. Tekell for well over 4 years, at another optometrist office she worked at. She has always been pleasant, sweet, and very friendly and personable. She makes you fee I am SO glad she switched to Jackman. The 5 star service is what I got. Jan was extremely accommodating being that I was two hours early for my appointment (had it mixed up with another one) I was able to get seen within seconds. Valentine is so perfect for this office. He provides such a bright and welcoming spirit to the team. I seriously could not have imagined a better person to per me up given that I am NOT a morning person. :P Tony, Tony, Tony!!! THIS GUY was ever so knowledgeable about everything eyes. This man has it down. He took his time with me allowing me to kind of browse and see what I liked first. Then he said my favorite word... SALE. A cool special waas going on with select frames where they covered half the balance on the frame. I was like.... Um you had me at SALE. I tried on about 10-15 pair, doing a whole entire fashion show for the fellow customers. :D I found these amazing Dolce & Gabbana cat eye Petroleum and Gold. YAS honey. Cant wait until they come in. Even once the appointment was over Tony still showed me sunglasses (that are to die for) and you can just tell he really loves what he does. And this is the type of place that deserves to be recognized! LOVE YOU GUYS. SEE YA SOON. Thank you for making me feel like family. read more

Been coming to this practice since about 2012-2013 when it was Texas State Optical and Dr. Jackman was my eye doc. He was an awesome doctor, and the practice has kept me as a patient because Dr. Tekell has also been amazing. I had Lasik in 2014, so I only go once a year for a check up to make sure nothing has changed. They are always warm and welcoming, and Dr. Tekell takes the time to explain what's going on, answer my questions, and give me advice on best practices to keep my eyes happy and healthy. Always easy to schedule, and I've never had to wait for a PA or the doc. read more

Wow! All I can say is I love this place! I have always had a great experience- but something about the new location is magical. Dr. T is so kind, I have never had a doctor listen to my concerns like she does. She doesn't judge anybody and welcomes you with open arms to receive treatment! Eyes are important! Please go see them if you need optometry care! Thank you again Dr. T you helped change my life! Also- TONY IN OPTICAL IS 10/10 needs a raise. Carries the place on his back over there. He single handed my made the glasses I adored affordable. Love him! read more

Joseph was incredibly awesome and helpful. He was not only polite but also went above and beyond to get me the information I needed. What stood out was how he never seemed annoyed by my questions, which you'd think would be normal, but sadly, it's not something you can take for granted these days. I don't usually write reviews, but Joseph truly stood out. Fantastic job! read more

Never getting my eyes checked elsewhere! As a UT student who is originally from DFW, it's been a hassle to constantly have to wait to go back home for a checkup, in addition to finding the best value for contact lenses. I recently ran out of contacts and had no time to make the 3-hour trek back to Dallas, so I made a last-minute appointment with Jackman Eye. The lady who answered the phone was extremely friendly and helped me set up my appointment with ease. She explained the entire process to me and even let me choose who I wanted to see. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the entire staff and was called into my appointment within 5 minutes, right as I finished the (unbelievably short) paperwork! Dr. Tekell is undoubtedly the BEST optometrist I've had. She was impeccably patient, kind, explained what was going on during every step of the checkup, thoroughly answered all of my questions without making me feel stupid, and even offered me insight that helped me understand optometry. Bonus points for having amazing style! The checkup was the most comprehensive one I've experienced and made me feel confident in my eye health assessment and prescription accuracy. Joseph made the checkout process a breeze and got me out of the door in under 5 minutes without pressuring me about anything. Last but not least, Jackman Eye provided me with unbeatable prices for my checkup and contact lenses! THIS is what the eye checkup experience should be like. Jackman Eye is the GOLD STANDARD for optometry. read more

I have been going to Jackman Eye for years and years, and they always exceed my expectations. Dr. Tekell is so expert and friendly, always taking time to answer questions, engage in conversation, and ensure the best corrections for my aging eyes. This week, I brought my 93-year-old tiny-faced and hard-to-fit mom to their optical shop to find her a new pair of glasses (her first in over 10 years). Tony did for Mom what he's always done for me: found a number of candidates (we didn't have to hunt ourselves), including the perfect frames that were actual adult (not kids) frames, great color for her, and perfect complement to her face shape. We were there for nearly 2 hours and added a new very happy customer as we left. Thank you, y'all rock! read more

Great doctors and the staff are very helpful. I totally recommend the company. The location is a prim spot in town.

Dr. Tekell and the doctors & staff of Jackman Eye are so excellent and beyond the typical experience at the eye doctor. I've been a patient of Dr. Tekell for several years and have always enjoyed the warm, caring experience she & her staff provide. Her expertise is exceptional and when I had an emergency eye situation that took several months to resolve, it became critical. I credit Dr. Tekell, Dr. Satrio and the staff at Jackman Eye for literally saving my vision. Dr. Tekell also has a stellar referral network for specialists, in the event you need one. This is really important because many of those high level specialists will not take you without a referral! You are in good hands with this practice. I also love their optical department. Tony & the team really know their glasses! read more

Wow this optometric office is so friendly. Dr. Tekell gives such a thorough exam and really helped me with my right eye not focusing well. Explained how prism in my glasses could help and showed me in office how it would feel. The technician Ashley was so nice and fast! Jan at the front desk is always so friendly and updated my information quickly. Walking over to the optical boutique was nice to just focus on glasses. Tony is so friendly and warm as soon as I walked in. It felt boutique and curated to specific eyewear brands. I would really recommend this place. read more

I've been coming here for years, long before Dr Tekell started, and it was my go-to place. After my last doctor finally left the business I took a year and tried to find another optometrist trying two others without success (yes, they're both reviewed here on Yelp.) As I was running out of vision coverage due to a job change and it had been a while since I'd had an exam, I made one again here at Jackman and Dr Tekell performed that. Okay, she's young, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but let me be clear: she's good and she's professional. She gave me a thorough exam, stopping whenever I wasn't clear about something or had a question. She went over the "photo" of my eye explaining what the different colors, lines and shades meant as well as describing what trouble items might look like. And then she explained in response to my query, why lasik probably isn't a good idea for me. Let that last piece sink in a little bit: when was the last time in 21st Century America did you ever hear of a health professional recommend against having a procedure done? That's right: never. We closed with a very clear review of how my prescription changed and what Dr Tekell recommended and I left with no questions. At this point I'm really glad she's young as she'll outlive me, and I'll never have to search for another optometrist again (God, I hope she doesn't move...) Wow, sounds like a great experience, why not five stars? I'm glad you asked: I think five stars means really just can't get better. I give Dr Tekell five stars but the totality of the visit was four. Not that there were problems but the front desk check in was not as smooth as it should have been, and the tech who initially helped me and did some intake with minor tests clearly was unsure about what she was doing. Clean that up, and you've probably got closer to a five star rating, but in totality it was not there. Should you go? Yes. Will you like Dr Tekell as much as me? Well, only if you're into competent, current professionals who take their work seriously. See ya! (no pun intended...) read more

Service from every single file staff member, and especially Dr. Tekell is magnificent and very personal! Dr. Tekell is my eye doctor forever and her staff are a true team, they act like family. Highly recommend! read more

When I first moved here 10 years ago, I decided to visit Dr. Jackman and I have never shopped anywhere else. For a good reason. The late Dr. Jackman is no longer with us, but his legacy lives on with the staff that have been there for years and Dr. Huser, the new owner is taking great care of patients. I love working with Tony who helps me pick out new glass frame as well as fashionable sunglasses every year. All the staff are wonderful, pleasant to work with, knowledgeable and never pushy about sales. I have been anywhere else, but I'm sure as long as they are in business, I will continue to shop here as long as I have optical needs. Be sure to attend trunk shows when they host them because you can get great savings! read more

If first impressions are everything then I know all I need to know about this place after my first visit this morning! Staff is warm and attentive. Dr. Satrio was professional and caring, willing to engage in conversation about test results, provide definitions, and ensure comprehension throughout the exam. At their lense center Tony is an absolute delight. Tony showed great care, was knowledgeable about the products, and guided me to the frame that suited my personality and made me feel confident when wearing them. read more

I was referred here by an ophthalmologist to buy my 2 year old's glasses. We were lucky to have Tony help fit him and it was a wonderful experience. Since then I bring my older son to get his eyes examined. A year later I have now started getting my glasses here as well. Tony makes you feel like part of the family. It's worth the drive from Round Rock. read more

Ask how much before you begin. I have 2 insurances and previously (over 5 years) I only paid a copay. Now the prices have gone up and insurance is not covering contact lense prescription. Doctors are nice and so is staff. Eye exam is painless and seems thorough. The check out lady did end up removing the additional $60 charge that was tacked on without my notice. But still sucks to go in for what you think is a covered annual exam with no eye concerns and get a $70 bill. (Since I did not ask for a contact lense prescription.. only the annual exam) There is a bit of a hustle to get you to buy photos of your eyes, glasses and other non covered expenses. I loved Dr. Jackman and I think these ladies are doing a good job but I miss him. read more

From the front desk staff to the person who did the preliminary tests to Dr. Raley to the person at the check-out desk, every single person at Jackman Eye is friendly, knowledgable, and helpful! I was in and out in under an hour, which included a contact lens exam. Dr. Raley made a suggestion to save money using my vision insurance. Overall, it was a terrific experience, and I highly suggest Jackman Eye to anyone needing an eye exam, contact lens, or glasses! read more

I came back here to get an updated prescription and to replace my scratched lenses around June 20, 2018, while I was briefly back in Texas to prepare a house for new tenant rental. This place is still excellent and I have not yet found another eye exam/glasses place like it. Tony is still my absolute favorite guy. He took excellent care of me, and got my new glasses ordered and just the entire experience was just fabulous. I don't know why anyone said Tony harassed them, but I know whoever that was obviously doesn't appreciate good customer service when it's right there in front of them. Tony Tucker is excellent at his job. If what he's been doing to me every time is harassment, then I guess he can "harass" me anytime. I won't be filing any complaints. I feel like a celebrity every time I come here. I think I'll always stop by here the next time I'm in Texas, just to have a conversation because that is what is always interesting! read more

HIGHLY recommend Jackman Eye. Very impressed with their response time, appointment availability / hours and their diligence in assisting their patients. I have been very pleased with the care and service provided by all of the doctors and each staff member I have interacted with at Jackman Eye. Jackman Eye is the best! I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the doctors and team there. I have had multiple appointments with Dr. Huser and she is always very professional, knowledgable, and extremely pleasant. She spends a lot of time with each of her patients and makes you fell like you are a VPI. They don't make you wait and take forever to get you in and out either. Their operation is very efficient and friendly. Tony is fantastic and so helpful when trying to select my new frames and lenses. He was completely transparent when it came to helping me find the best deal for me and how best to utilize my vision plan benefits. Thank you so much Jackman Eye for taking such great care of my eyes! read more

I have been going to Jackman Eye for over 20 years and when Dr. Jackman left, I felt a little lost to see my childhood Optometrist retire, but Dr. Tekell has been been taking care of me for a few years now and I can honestly say I will not even entertain the idea of going elsewhere. Last year, Joseph fitted me with my absolute favorite pair of eyeglasses that I have ever had, and today, I had the pleasure of working with Stephanie on a really amazing pair of sunglasses. Both Opticians were patient, handled my questions with confidence and care, and told me the honest truth about what did (and didn't) look good on my face. Thank you to Dr. Tekell, Joseph, and Stephanie! read more

This is a super awesome office!! From the first phone call to the last see ya later, everyone is really nice and so helpful and great with glasses selection and fitting. I love Dr Tekell. She is smart, thorough, caring, really listens and she is so patient. I never feel hurried and really trust her expertise. I used to see Dr. Jackman, so when he passed away I was a little bit leery about who I would see next but even though these are big shoes to fill these ladies rock!! Seriously!!!Highly recommended from this patient and RN. read more

It is rare these days to find an optometrist's office that has professional staff that are great at their jobs from the moment you walk in the door until the moment you leave. That is exactly what I found here. The ladies at the counter where you check in were busy with other patients when I walked in, but I was greeted by an optician who took my name, and checked me in for my appointment. I was a new patient, so there was a little bit of paperwork to fill out, but as soon as I was finished I was taken back to the pre-screening area. The tech, Tasha, was great. She guided me through the process. I tend to get really nervous when it comes to the NCT (the machine that puffs air in your eyes), but they don't even use one here! Just the pen that feels like it's touching the edge of your eyelashes. After that I saw Dr. Tekell. What a great doctor! I am a complicated patient. I have small cataracts, my eyes are extremely dry because my tear production is minimal at best, and I have to wear large, rigid contact lenses. Dr. Tekell fit me for some new contacts, explained my cataracts to me, was kind, understanding, all while being very professional. She is a great addition to the practice. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! read more

We were truly SHOCKED at the recent Eye Exam's visit on 12/21/2017 and we will be SAD and NOT be back with this office due the recent billing policy changes. I have 2 kids having the SAME annual eye exams with Dr. Huser, but were done at different months of 2017. The bill charged for my son ($250 per Eye Exam only) and my daughter ($424 per Eye Exam only). The recent policy changes were NOT presented at the time of visit, therefore we were NOT aware of the changes. We truly LOVE Dr. Jackman, Dr. Huser and the wonderful staffs. We strongly believe the excessive pricing changes within a few months for the SAME eye exam procedure for the SAME family members within the SAME year were ridiculously. We respect the office policy, but this should be discussed and agreed upon prior the service started. We hope Dr. Huser review this feedback and consider the immediate policy changes should be communicated clearly and agreed upon with the customers at the time of service to avoid the SHOCKING charges. read more

I am over 65 and had all kinds of eye problems since I was 13, had RK (went bad), gone through all kinds of glasses, hard lenses and now scleral lenses which really require expertise.
