Very expensive and good quality service. Everyone was very nice, they are friendly and efficient. Equipment was great. But the bill - wow. $287 for an eye exam. And nearly $800 for lenses alone. I went elsewhere to another place, also 5 stars and highly recommended on Yelp, and ordered the exact same lenses for $560. So, if money is of no concern, this is an excellent place, and I would give it 5 stars. If you care about cost, I recommend considering other well-recommended places, and that is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 - I thought it way overpriced. read more

Really wanted to like this place. Ya'll gave it high reviews but I had a much different experience. Had two pair of glasses made and ultimately sent them both back. They blamed the lab and sent the lenses back to the lab once for a do over. Came back better but still blurry at the edges and with "ghosting" which I've never had in any pair of glasses in 30 years of wearing Rx lenses. I sent those back and got a refund minus a hefty "restocking fee." I was told that "perhaps your expectations are too high." In summary: if you EXPECT to have a working pair of glasses, you'll be disappointed. If you expect to pay too much and get a lousy product; I guess these are your guys. For my money; I went to another shop and they nailed it on the first try. Love my new glasses - paid less and they are of excellent quality. I had a lot of needless runaround, lost money and frustration here. Maybe my case was a one-off fluke. She attentive, a good listener when discussing eye concerns, and is thoughtful about what she does. Her staff is great too. I hadn't had an eye exam for ~4 years, but then my new puppy chewed up my eyeglasses on a Friday evening. A quick search showed RRVS was open the very next day (a Saturday!) and was on my new vision insurance list, so I made an appointment online with no fuss, and within 24 hours I was getting fitted for a new Rx and new frames. The exam was thorough yet painless, and the staff worked with me to stay within my budget on glasses and frames, which were delivered early. As if that wasn't impressive enough, I just had to replace a lens due to a chip in my field of vision (after yet *another* dog-related incident, if you can believe it!). RRVS ordered me a new lens for a reasonable fee and when it arrived, they popped it in and off I went in under five minutes. Conclusion: If you want top-notch customer service, a pleasant atmosphere, efficient help during convenient hours, and all at a reasonable price, then go no further: RRVS is your best bet. read more

On a Saturday late afternoon, recently, I suddenly realized that the eye problem symptoms that had begun for me about a year earlier ** now added up to all the symptoms of narrow angle glaucoma. I'm "a senior" and I had not been to an eye doctor for a long time. Moreover, I had a family history of Glaucoma. Narrow angle glaucoma is a serious disorder, and all the eye clinics were closed until Monday, of course. I was nearly "straight jacket" material, with the prospect of having to wait 36 hours just to make an appointment. I needed a simple (now days) intra optic pressure ("IOP") measurement fast. So I looked for the nearest practitioner who could provide one, and fortunately for me that turned out to be Dr. Ali. When I found her web site I was relieved to see that one could make an appointment, even as a new patient, online (!), and that she had time just after noon on Monday. That was some relief: that was sooner than I expected to get that pressure reading (and bad news, or relief). Plus Dr. Ali accepts Medicare to cover eye disease diagnosis and treatment. (Medicare does not, of course, cover ""visual acuity" exams or correction.) I had no idea, yet, how fortunate I was, to have the sequence of events lead me to her office. Came Monday and my visit with her, the eye pressure was not a problem, and I had not yet developed glaucoma, and so the question was left as to what WAS the problem. I was expecting little else out of the visit besides ruling out glaucoma, but this is where my good fortune became evident at having chosen Dr. Ali. I was to learn that optometrists are now qualified to diagnose and treat a variety of common-but-serious problems such as glaucoma and dry eye, and Dr. Ali seems well versed in both glaucoma and dry eye (I have extreme dry eye due to the ** incident I detailed below). Dr. Ali undertook to help me further with trying to assess just what WAS going on. She did a retinal check (with dilation), and has an instrument to make a retinal scan, to have a bench mark (picture record) to keep track of that aspect of eye health. Moreover she did a test with fluorescein dye to assess the eye surface integrity, something I had not expected she would be able to do. This is important to assess possible dry eye damage. I became concerned that I was taking so much of her time on such an initial visit, but she explained that her schedule was light just then, and to her credit she spent the time helping me and calming my concerns. She explained that I had corneal edema. We decided that it is likely due to the combination of my severe dry eye and the unusual regimen I must keep up with in dealing with it (sometimes introducing eye contamination despite my extreme care), plus my aging eyes. She prescribed an over-the-counter treatment as a first try for treating the edema, which was (I have subsequently read)apparently the right, conservative treatment, rather than going for prescription steroids right away. The treatment is helping, and when I read about it, it seems highly liked by persons in the "dry-eye community" for help with such occasional problems. Dr. Ali talked at length and with authority about dry eye care, something I know quite a bit about what with 25 years of experience and reading. It turns out (I hope she will not mind my saying) that she too has personal experience with that, and that is a help as well, as that in turn means she can address concerns over the condition with authority. She was sensitive to my needs for concern with cost of treatment at every turn. She seemed frank and honest about the prospects for treatment and the long term outcome. She made me very glad to have such a practitioner so conveniently located close to me. I will not have a problem with repeat visits whenever necessary, and OH what a relief THAT is! To boot, her office staff were competent and friendly. What with my nerves and other problems and my concerns over cost, etc., this episode could have been yet another trauma. I was, and am, ever so grateful it went so well. That is all to Dr. Ali's credit. I am writing at length about the experience in hope that others will gain from her care. There is certainly a very good chance for that. ** I have a hard time deciding to go to "the doctor", and especially an eye doctor, because of a very traumatic experience I had in 1993, wherein an ophthalmologist/surgeon did the wrong(medical necessity) surgery on my eyes, ruining the health of my eyes in the process and making it impossible for me to have the surgery I needed then, and still desperately need. I actually woke up during the surgery when I somehow realized he was doing the wrong surgery, and thus I suffer PTSD to boot (search "surgical awakening"). I'd be warning you against that person to be sure were he not deceased. read more
