As a person who is long time hard of hearing and very suspect of hearing specialists I have to say that VICTORY HEARING AND BALANCE is still THE BEST. First off, I loved Dr. Franklin. He was so helpful getting me into my first pair of truly usable hearing devices. He helped me get my first set and they were miraculous. I let 4 years go by without even a check-up. I finally made a recent appointment with Dr. Jill Davis a new practitioner at VHB. I was actually very sensitive an wary of the new staff. I feared I was gonna get told that my present aids are outdated and I need to spend 7k to replace them. But no, it went much more positively than that. I melted under the kindness and care of new staff at Victory Hearing and Balance. They told me that my aids were still state of the art except for non rechargeable batteries, I found out I can replace parts for reasonable fees and also there is an app that can locate lost devices! Look no further! My wife has suffered with troubled hearing for sometime now. Following the AC/DC concert in Houston early this year (we are in our 60s), the left ear in particular was pretty well done. She visited another audiologist and was told she needed an MRI. She then turned to Yelp and read the reviews on Dr. Franklin. My Wife and I met him and found it very interesting that he wanted to interview us both to get each other's perspective on my Wife's hearing and it made for very interesting and helpful dialogue. From this questionnaire and following the tests he conducted, she was diagnosed with issues in both ears for different reasons. Cannot thank him enough for the help he has provided for her. I found Victory Hearing and Balance through Yelp. Their great reviews motivated me to schedule an appointment. I have been wearing hearing aids for about ten years. Despite the correction provided my hearing loss was ever present and a constant issue in my life. Victory's reviews indicated a more sophisticated approach and success in helping people function in settings like restaurants, movies and other loud places where I have constantly struggled in the past. I found exactly what I was looking for in Jill Davis and Victory Hearing and Balance. My initial appointment included a great conversation regarding my hearing challenges. We then delved into extensive testing to analyze and measure my hearing loss. Once my issues were thoroughly measured and understood Jill suggested the best aid for my specific hearing loss. Once the aid's came in Jill did a great deal more analysis and testing to tune the devices to correct my hearing as well as it can be corrected. The net effect of all of this is that I now live without thought of my hearing loss. Since working with Jill, I have been in many environments where I struggled previously. Now I go to dinner, movies and other places where I previously struggled without a thought about my hearing loss. I simply can live and function like people without hearing loss. I wish I went to see Dr. Alan Franklin 5 years earlier. I went to see him because I was having trouble hearing my coworkers when they spoke to me. I was also having trouble understanding the TV. I tried to work with a different ENT, but they were very hard to work with. After I started going to Victory Hearing, everything went much smoother. Dr Franklin tested my hearing and fitted me with hearing aids. After the fitting, he ran extra tests to make sure they were working perfectly. I felt he went over and above to fine tune them. A few weeks later, I was having a little trouble with one of my accessories that connects my iPhone to my hearing aids. Dr Franklin was able to reconfigure that accessory so that now it works great. Be sure to ask about their practice of NOT billing your insurance for all of their charges. My Mom's insurance company said that they should not be doing that for some of their charges, but Dr. Franklin's staff said that we would have to pay them anyway. Just be sure to ask about their charges, before you make an appointment to be sure you want to have those extra charges that can't even go to your deductible. Doesn't seem quite "kosher" to me. read more

Dr. Franklin used a very sequential method of diagnosing, prescribing, and fitting/educating me for my first experience with hearing aids. He was careful to not overwhelm me with information and made sure my questions were answered. I have severe nerve deafness from birth. For my first 30 years the hearing aid technology could not help. That changed 30 years ago and I got my first aids. Over the years the technology has improved and I have benefited greatly. So I am an experienced and discerning user. Victory Hearing and Balance has been helpful for me, in general consultation and hearing testing. Safe noise levels are less than 85dB, and it's very easy to get exposed to much more than that, whether movie theaters, church, music venues, air travel, etc. Protect your hearing. A little while back, I brought my 90 year old grandmother to see Dr. Franklin. She doesn't speak a whole lot of English. Dr. Franklin was very patient and thorough when he tuned her hearing aids. Recently, I connected with Dr. Franklin and he delivered a very high quality of service and care beyond my expectation and belief. I can't say enough about my experience with Dr. Franklin and his staff at Victory. I had an initial consultation with another hearing aid group and it was a disappointing experience. They did not listen to what I wanted and just started "selling from the first minute". Dr. Franklin took the complete opposite approach! He was consultative from the first session truly wanting to understand by goals for my hearing. He took function and cosmetics into account and came up with a perfect solution. So important for someone that has never worn hearing aids. He also clearly has the highest level of truly medical certification. He's an MD in his field, where many others just get a certification and start selling hearing aids. The follow up since my initial appointment has been outstanding and I would recommend Dr. Franklin without hesitation, can't imagine a better experience.
