The service is quick and the staff is friendly while the atmosphere is lively, they also have lots of varieties of pizza which amazed me. I went in for the simple cheese slice just to know how they make their pizzas. My verdict on that is it's a pretty decent one, definitely not in the top slices of Williamsburg but definitely it's a late night spot to eat a slice. I love their Grandma pie but tonight I had a truly disappointing experience. I ordered through Uber Eats and my pizza was tampered with. A corner slice had been dislodged and was on top of the pizza. I said ok, it just got jostled. I went to move it back and noticed another corner slice was next to the missing corner slice, and the other corner had a middle slice. I tried contacting Uber, you have to wait 6-12 hours now. I called the restaurant and they assured me it wasn't them and they begged me not to write a bad review, literally first thing out of his mouth. He then told me to contact uber, I said I did, I just wanted a pizza. He said ok order directly through us by calling us and they would take care of me and have no problem, I asked "isn't that what I'm doing?" . They asked how I was paying, I said...you just said you would take care of me, he said no I have to charge you. He had already asked for a picture of the tampered with pizza that I was happy to send. He said Uber had to refund you but you can order through us and pay. I was also cut off by him and transferred to a manger that mansplained the same thing to me. The best ny style pizza l've had in a while. I ordered delivery this time and I didn't even care the pizza wasn't hot, it was that good. If you live nearby pick up yourself or eat there if you want it hot. My favorite was the classic cheese, but the pepperoni was also very good. Caesar slice was delicious and HUGE. I find that really stupid since they mainly sell pizza and one slice is $3. Not everyone has cash on them. The stools where you sit 100% need to be replaced. They're really uncomfortable and some of them are loose. I'm sure they can afford it with all the business they get. Someone was coming in for a mobile order every few minutes. You know those TV shows or movies that have that one scene with food that, as a kid, you remember watching and thinking "God that looks incredible?" That on its own was enough for a whole meal, and the thought of it still makes me salivate. However, albeit smaller, the square pie Grandma slice truly healed part of my soul. Between two people: shared the Sicilian Slice ($3.50), Vegetable Slice ($5), ad Chicken Roll ($8). Items are placed in the oven while you pay and are out within 10 minutes. First off - the Sicilian slice has an "upside down" approach, as the sauce is placed over the cheese. Not too much difference in taste from a normal Sicilian slice, but easy to eat and a nice tang from the tomatoes. Chicken roll is a thick slab of cheese and chicken inside a rough dough. Incredibly dense; could have used more sauce, but the value is fantastic as the chicken is really stuffed in there. Vegetable slice is on a thin crust and packed with peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, and cheese. Solid all around slice that needed nothing extra. A bit cramped inside, yet there are stools available near the windows, as well as a makeshift structure for outdoor seating. So SO glad that Rosa's is finally getting the recognition it deserves as the outstanding Italian eatery it has been for all these years. When I saw the commercial with Wayne & Garth for Uber eats, I was like "YEAH BABY!"... I was 10 years old in 1975 when Rosa's launched its first location in Maspeth (Queens), NY and it immediately dominated the pizzeria-on-every-block-main-street it opened on. I have tried almost everything they offer over the years, and I love it all... But my favorites are: 1) The Sicilian slice with the sauce on top RULES, crispy on the outside and an airy pillow on the inside. 2) The absolute best calzones anywhere are made with their outstanding dough, and a hole is pinched on top to allow the steam to vent out. 3) Rosa's is the only place I would EVER order spaghetti and meatballs. As an Italian with pretty decent cooking skills (who KNOWS how to make that dish) -- I still enjoyed every bite every time. 4) All the specialty slices from the round pies are great, but the penne, ravioli, taco and caesar salad are the best to me. First time in New York and we found this pizza place a couple blocks from the bar we were in. I loved that they were open late. The pizza was so flavorful and delicious, we even had to come back the next day. However the service was so unpleasant as our first visit. The cashier was nice but not the young man that served us our pizza kind of rude. He seemed to be bothered because I asked him to put one of my slices to go and instead of putting it in a box like everyone else's he put mine in a paper bag. The family behind the classic slice shop with several locations in Queens just opened a new Brooklyn location on a nice stretch of Metropolitan Ave right near Milk Bar and Court Street Grocers. The slices run the gamut from classic to pretty out there with stuff like ziti and ravioli slices, and they're all executed really well. You gotta get the upside down grandma though, one of those really good Sicilian slices with the sauce on top. They're still in the process of renovating, so it's going to be an even nicer spot soon, but you can still stop in already now for a great slice or two. read more

Great pizza! I was on the hunt for good late night pizza and actually left another spot because of how dry and stale the pizza looked. Happened across this place and literally as I walked in the door a steaming fresh pie was being placed out. I got a Buffalo chicken, grandma and margherita slice. Yes, here's the update. They made us wait 30 minutes for a fresh pie, which is fine. The only issue is, they just re-heated old pizza and made us wait 30 minutes for it when there was little to no foot traffic in the store at the time. If the owner has it, he can review the camera's, it is very apparent what occurred. We were told we were receiving fresh pizza which is why we had no issue with a longer wait. In the end, they lied to us and discriminated against us due to the color of our skin. Racism doesn't have to be overt in order for it to exist in Alessandro's shop. He denied what happened without even knowing what occurred and without being present. This tells me the pizza shop owner of Rosa's pizza condones the racism and would rather deny it than actually address it. He questioned the truth of my review and said it should be removed in order to hide the racism that exists in his shop. Why would you want people to have this type of experience at your store? Why would I lie and makeup a story of racism? It doesn't feel good. It wasn't warranted. It wasn't enjoyable and I do not get anything out of spending time writing an untruthful review. We will not be returning for obvious reasons. In addition, my partner and I had very bad stomachaches from the old, stale orange-ish cheese that was supposed to be from a fresh pie.
