So disappointed. They served me cold roasted chicken. The gravy is nice. The NY strip is okay. It's expensive but for me, it's not worth the price. Their kids menu is also plain, just kraft mac n cheese. I gave 2 because I love their pizookie, it's not sweet it's just right. But anything else it's not worth it. read more

My husband and I went here for a date night, away from the kids. We wanted something a little nicer than a chain restaurant. I saw reviews of Roots Eatery on Facebook pages and thought we had to try! We were thrilled with the choice! I got New England Clam Chowder and fillet with broccolinni and puree. It was delicious, full of flavor and unique. My husband copied me and had the fillet as well. We LOVE this restaurant. Pay attention to the hours (closed M/T, but open the rest of the week for lunch, then closes, and opens back up for dinner). Amazing choices. Everything is cooked FRESH using the best ingredients. Staff is personable, and the food is DELICIOUS (and we go out a LOT). Been probably 5 times in less than a month, and have never had a bad meal. We LOVE the brunch on Saturday & Sunday (the biscuits and gravy are to die for). Tonight we enjoyed the $20 bottle of wine and bruschetta board with goat cheese and strawberries. After that we also enjoyed the Mushroom ravioli, the scallops, Mac & cheese and the Chicken Marsala. Nice folks there always making sure you're enjoying your meal. We really love it. First trip to Roots Eatery was on Sunday right as they opened. They need an "Open" sign to let people know they are actually open. We were the only ones in the restaurant. I ordered the the Breakfast Sandwich with scrambled eggs and the bacon. It was good, not great. The hollandaise needs work. It just tasted like butter and egg yolks. Yes I know this is basically what it is but it need some acid like lemon juice to brighten the flavors. We also ordered the OG Eggs Benny, again good but small portion compared to other restaurants. Crispy hashbrowns were pretty good. The employees were just standing around talking loudly. Asking each other if they liked Mexican Candy. They need to fix their front door and then maybe they could get rid of the fly strips hanging around the restaurant. One was right above where they place the food for service. I know this would not pass the health inspection. We will give it another try after they have been open a little longer. read more

The set up is a little weird. It threw us off, ordering at the counter instead of with a server, but no biggie. The space is small, but nice. I ordered the 6oz filet with smashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts, as did my mother in law. My husband and his dad ordered the crab cakes and the kiddos ordered the chicken tenders with fries. My steak.... it was like hamburger meat. It looked pre-chewed. It was flavorless. My mother in law's steak was perfectly cooked. We took the steak back and the chef and servers all looked shocked. They immediately apologized and replaced it. In addition to that, the chef gave us a coupon for 10% off our next meal and personally apologized again. The replacement steak was tender and juicy! The sides were soooo tasty. The crab cakes got the thumbs up from the menfolk, and my father in law is from Maryland so that's impressive! We then ordered every dessert but thr bread pudding. They were all delicious! Despite the masticated steak issue, we'll be back. They went above and beyond to fix the problem and we truly appreciate that. Great little eatery! read more

If you love Weekends as much as me, BRUNCH is my favorite meal of the week. This new Roots Eatery in Maricopa has such delicious food. Been here for dinner twice and had to come back and try their bloody Mary for brunch. Totally made my weekend. This is done right extra thick bacon with blue cheese stuffed olives, celery, banana peppers the flavor is over the top. And it's huge. Amazing comfort food. We were excited to give this place a try and they didn't disappoint! So glad we have a new restaurant here in town. Kudos to the ownership to attempt a startup during a pandemic. #supportlocalbusiness I had the short ribs and they were cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were smooth and also delicious. My wife had the salmon and was also very pleased with the portion and the flavor. We did try the clam chowder and although not overwhelmed, the flavor was ok. Finished the meal with the banana bread dessert and it was very good too. We're looking forward to trying the other items on the menu. The staff was attentive and friendly. I've never had take out steak before and I was NOT disappointed it was delish! I'm picky, I'm a foodie, and I love eating in new restaurants. It's hard to eat a good steak even in a restaurant but when I called and asked what was recommended I went for it. Yum yum! I have lived here in Maricopa for just over 3yrs now. Finally gave this place a shot since I usually cook at home. I'm sad to say that the food wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Friendly staff but they were very distracted and they were not that busy. I have never paid and tipped prior to receiving my food at a sit down restaurant before. No silverware, salt or pepper or any other condiments on the tables and to get those I had to ask multiple times. The decor was nice but it was very squishy in there. I hope to go there again someday and be able to give a better review on my experience. read more

We have been coming to this Gem and love the season changing menu. Food was amazing! We had heard from various people in Maricopa to give Roots a try... so we finally did. We walked in and there was only 1 table available, we knew it was going to be good. My husband had the omelet and hash browns, I had the chicken and waffles. Food was brought to our table no more that 10 min after we ordered it. Food was fresh and hot, the chicken was cooked perfectly, not dry at all. We sat near the kitchen so we could see the other food that was ordered. Hamburgers and sandwiches looked so good as well. The other people who were eating seemed to be regulars who were bringing newbies in. The staff was amazing and we were treated as soon as we walked in. Sorry I wasn't planning on writing a review so I don't have any pictures. read more
