A overpriced Denny's or I Hop not a enjoyable experience eating in a hallway. Tables are never cleaned, water from a jug. They don't make change. Food ok but overpriced. Fast food with a little kick. This is the first time we'd been here and I have to say we were very impressed. I didn't mind ordering my food at the counter and have a staff member bing it to our table. I had the chicken cordon bleu and the two others had the salmon, my chicken was cooked perfectly and it was only 16.50 the salmon was 19.00 and 14.00 for a bottle of wine was also very reasonable. Do yourself a huge favor and eat here! We got takeout tonight and every bite was phenomenal. We got the roasted garlic chicken, crab cakes and clam chowder. I don't know what sauce on the chicken was but WOW. The crab cakes were made with real crab, and mostly crab meat. I was so full I couldn't dig in to the chowder but it was just as delicious as everything else. I look forward to finishing that tomorrow. I'm so happy we have a restaurant that has food that tastes like fine dining but is very reasonably priced. The portions are perfect. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. read more

Absolutely delicious! Super cute and tasty food. My salad was tasty and the chicken was a wonderful addition. My fried got a Reuben that she reported as yummy! We both cleaned our plates! We didn't have room for dessert but got it anyway. I got the crepes, she got the brûlée. Both were yummy, but the brûlée was the favorite! Definitely going back! read more

I just moved here from Illinois a week ago and was looking for a great neighborhood place and I think I found it!!! I like that they have a little menu and focus on quality! My wife and I tried Roots Eatery for the first time. Boy was it disappointing. My wife had the Green Chili-Pork Mac and Cheese. It was creamy, however, it lacked flavor. Her food was hot. I had the evening special which was Scallops with a fig sauce. I choose the "smashed potatoes" and asparagus. My potatoes were ice cold, and my asparagus was undercooked. My wife told me to send it back but I did not. My scallops ranged from 1/2" thick to 1" thick. Of course, when you have such different sizes it is impossible to cook them all the same. The thin scallops were cooked well. The thicker scallops were undercooked and hard to eat. I paid $25 for scallops that were undercooked with a fig sauce that was so sweet it overpowered the dish. The food lacked flavor ( a little salt and pepper go a long way). read more

This place was such an amazing surprise. It is truly a delicious hole in the wall restaurant. The food we had was unbelievably delicious and I can confidently say this may be the best food in Maricopa! We had the bacon fig bruschetta, fried calamari, new England clam chowder, beef filet, mushroom risotto, and chicken parm. Each bite was better than the last and we just kept saying "wow". We can't wait to come back to try more of the menu and we HIGHLY recommend Roots Eatery to anyone looking for some absolutely delectable food! read more

Our expectations of Roots was set very high due to media circulation. 1. This is not a full service restaurant with waitress that is available for request during meal. Order is placed at front desk and brought to your table which you will have to remove your dishes and place at table near entrance after meal is done. 2. Food was very good, we had a springtime salad followed by pulled pork pork nachos on pork rinds and short ribs. Nachos were pleasant change from traditional nachos. Short Ribs were also very good and cooked perfectly. Now that we know how the restaurant operates our next experience will be much better. read more

1st time eating at Roots Eatery and I have to say I was very impressed. I read reviews before trying it and, as anticipated, it was a small and unassuming eating environment. Understand before trying it that soda comes by the can and is stored in a refrigerator by the counter, but I recommend you don't let that deter you. The food my wife and I ordered was excellent (seared Atlantic salmon, fish & chips, and pesto mushroom bruschetta). The serving size for the salmon was appropriate (i.e. a good portion unless you like overeating as I'm prone to do) while the fish & chips was a very large portion. I had smashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts with my salmon and while the potatoes were good, the Brussel sprouts were out of this world! I tried my wife's fish and chips and while I'm generally not a fan of F&C, I would totally order it in the future. The staff was exceedingly friendly and accommodating and I walked away with the sense that this is just a small Ma & Pa restaurant that takes its craft and business seriously. I have an inclination to call it a hole in the wall place because it's tucked away and easy to miss, but that might make some think it's dingy. Far from it, the interior was clean and bright and had a sense of small town dining. A true gem that I will be eating at again soon. read more

It is a small place with a few outdoor and several tables inside. It has a down to earth vibe. The omelette of the days was delicious the hash browns were good. My daughter had a chicken salad that was very good and fresh ingredients. The staff was kind and quick. It is a nice option for Maricopa you should check it out. read more

The cooking process here is very thought out and cared about which you can tell in the flavor and methods of preparation in the meals. I had the chicken cordon bleu which was beautifully tender and crispy while having a gooey center. They added a grilled lemon on the side which, if you squeezed the juice onto the chicken, cuts through the savoriness in a subtle, calculated fashion. Aside from an amazing meal, they also had fantastic service and a professional singer in the back which my girlfriend and I were jamming out to. 5/5, will definitely go again. read more
