I have a 103 year old house in Oldtown Orange. I have many trees on my property and root blockages are a manger problem. I have 125 of clay piping to the city sewer line. GUSTAVO recommended a camera inspection and I could see major growth at many pipe joints. Although, it was expensive i decided to replace the original clay piping with new seamlessly joined ABS commercial grade sewer pipe that was installed with only holes dug about every 40-50 feet WITHOUT trenching the the full length. With very specialized equipment the clay pipe was hydraulically crushed and the new pipe was pulled through the pulverized clay debris simultaneously. It took two days and the Hooter-Man workers were skilled and very friendly. That was the best solution for me, however it was most costly. Hydro jetting, pipe relining, and just snaking were also recommenced as alternatives. read more

Called Rooter Man OC for Rooter service, was quoted $49.99, should have known better. The plumber that came out presented well, but tried upselling me to Hydro Jet service (16-times more than originally quoted before even trying to use the snake. When that didn't work, I was told I need to replace my "figure 5 plumbing" (36 times the original quote). In the end Rooter Man OC didn't get the job done so I called another rooter who got it done properly in about 25-20 minutes for $200. You can draw your own conclusions about whether the issue was expertise or integrity, but either way I do not recommend Rooter Man OC. read more

I've been having some issues with my kitchen where nothing was going down and everything was backing up... I thought dumping Drano would solve the issue as it worked in previous years but not this time. I saw the ad for $49 draining service from RooterMan and gave them a call to take advantage of this special. Rodrigo came within an hour and attempted to snake to drain but that wasn't the issue. Needless to say, there were so many issues that our "inspector" never mentioned or even "inspected." The pipes were not CA coded, doing half butt job just to get by caused so many years of issues that it finally broke. Rodrigo explained everything in details and went above and beyond to resolve the issues and not to mention he took care of other miscellaneous issues since he was just a nice job. Septic tank pumping. Add ons and shady business practices. I agree with some of the comments here questioning the validity of the positive reviews - at least based on our experience. The person taking our phone appointment explained prices for 1,000 gallon and for 1,500 gallon tanks. We had ALWAYS paid the 1,000 gallon price with other companies so we expected our tank was 1,000 gallons. The service guy who showed up was Sako. The tank opening is precisely 31' to the curb. The first "add on" Saki charged was adding a 35' hose to the 50' house that comes with the service. It was bewildering how it was necessary to use an 85' hose to reach a tank 31' away. Next to our surprise he claimed we had a 1,500 gallon tank and charged us a rate that was $200 more for a total of $625.00!!! The highest we had ever paid before over 20 years was $375! When asked how he measured 1,500 gallons he said he had a bubble measure on his tank. But that was after he pumped out the tank. He did not show us the level before he started pumping so there was no way to verify. He had been to other location(s) before our house in the afternoon. In short, there was no way to verify what he was saying. When I complained to the company I was told they would remove the extra house charge. That was a no brainer considering it was easily proven not to have been needed. They refused to budge on the 1,500 gallon price based on the bubble level excuse. When I explained that the bubble level was nonsense in light of Sako not showing us the bubble level before he started. I was told that was a good idea and they would ask Sako to do that with future customers. Finally, Sako said there were solids at the bottom of the tank that he could remove for an extra $1,900. Talk about "ups" and "extras". Felt like a total scam. Bottom line is we will never use this company again and strongly advise others not to use them as well. read more

So in one day the my 118 year old sewer main line backed up. After not being able to clear on our own we called (on a Sunday) and they were out relatively quickly. After another attempt at clearing and a camera used to just be able to locate topically where the issue is it was decided the line was, most likely, broken and would need digging up and repair. While the price did seem a bit surprising I authorized and the line was, indeed, broken right where they located it. I did ask for further attempt at routering down line and camera did show the rest of the line was giving up the ghost so a complete trenchless repipe was advised. The combined total for all service was, to me, actually very on line with an appropriate amount for the scope of total service and I now have a complete, new sewer line. Harry N. Was extremely friendly, explanatory, and respectful of the property. We just did a walk through of the finished job and and glad this will not be an issue for me down the road. I know any home service repair/techs will always run the gamut of reviews because you can't please everyone and usually the majority of people who leave reviews were unhappy about something (satisfied customers are just happy and tend to forget to review...I'm a nurse...this happens in healthcare all the time) my experience was great.
