Great boneless wings! Came here on a break from wedding festivities for dinner, and the hot garlic, boneless wings did not disappoint. This is also one of my sister and brother-in-law's favorite hangouts, I've been here for drinks before, but this was my first time for food. Service has always been friendly and good. This is a good place to stop in if you want wings and you live in the German/Merion Village area. It's just a go to place for us to watch the games and have some wings, but not our favorite. I have encountered a few times some bad choices in wing sauces. Sometimes it has seemed that they are dried out once they are served. Everyone has been friendly and good service (nothing special or bad). I'm not sure if German Village is a perfect match for a casual wings and beer type place like Rooster's, but I suppose it works either way. It's hard to quantify the existence of Rooster's without comparing it to local heavyweight BW3, but either way I think it does an A-OK job of holding its own. The menu here is nothing fancy, just a standard selection of fried chicken products, sandwiches, salads, fries, etc. Most of the nuances that make Rooster's stand out are subtle, but they're appreciated nonetheless. The Reuben sub is pretty huge and is great if you like Rubens, but I'd recommend sticking with the chicken fingers if I were you. Get it done up with the medium buffalo sauce if you know what's good for you- it's tangy, spicy, and perfectly halfway between mouth-scorching and just right. Steer clear of the teriyaki, however- it's a greasy mess and doesn't taste very good at all. The ambiance here is more like a campus bar than a place like Lindey's or Club 185, making Rooster's a decent place to stop for lunch if you're new to the area and don't feel like dealing with the trendy vibes most of the other restaurants in the area are rife with. It's easy to feel at home amongst the wood paneling and the heavily lacquered furniture, but I'd try to avoid getting drunk and falling over in the street here. They don't take kindly to that in German Village, after all. read more

This place reminds me of Hooters without the girls in orange spandex. The walls are lined with light-colored wood, there are TVs everywhere, and they specialize in wings. If you like Hooters, then you'll like Roosters. If you don't like Hooters...well, you're a bit of a snob. The wings are delicious. Really big, meaty wings with tons of sauce and tons of breading, just the way I like them. The fries are tasty too. The service was kinda crappy, but I don't really expect great service from wing joints. The beer list isn't anything to write home about, but, again, wing place. This location is quaint and cute. If you are looking to watch a big game, get there early as the place is fairly small. Prices are great, food is great & they have plenty of TV's for the game. The German Village location is unique and I like it best. All total I've probably been to 20 of their various locations over the years including the original in Springboro. This store is more like a small neighborhood bar but with young attentive waitresses, delicious wings, and a relaxed ambience. The selection of draft beer at All Roosters needs improvement (Dan), therefore, I deducted one star. Yes, the parking is bad and can be a challenge depending upon the time of day/night. Also, you might have to drive around some and/or walk a couple of blocks from where you parked, but welcome to everywhere in German Village. read more

Roosters is the "good ol' neighborhood bar" of german village. Although it doesn't have the olde world charm of other eateries in the area, it's a good change from the usual german village cuisine. Prices aren't bad, for two people it was about $24. The menu is small but has variety. Their individual size pizzas had a good thin crispy crust. And the sub we had was tasty and filling. The place was over-run by softballers from berliner, so service was a bit slow and impersonal. Otherwise our experience was a good one. read more

Great wings every time. Add a bunch of flat-screen TVs and beer and you've got the perfect game-watching venue. The wings are a good size and the sauces are legit. Not the greatest beer selection, but they've got the usuals. Great service and hasn't been too crowded the times I've gone. I've never been to the other locations, but seems like this one has more of a neighborhood feel. I think they have 50 cent wings on Mondays too. read more

I enjoy Roosters and I have had a good experience with most locations, but this one has the rudest staff. After several tries I am fed up! I usually order take out. Every time I go in the get the food the girls working up front are rude and act like I am an annoyance. Today, they gave me the wrong order. When I called to let them know, they acted like it was my mistake and were more concerned about me bringing back the order than about giving me the wrong order in the first place! Friendly, Cheap, greasy, good, beer! Basically sums it up. Service here is always great. The only time you can expect a wait is game time, so if you're planning on watching her set up camp early. I love me some chicken wings, though here I think the tenders outshine the other methods of consuming poultry. The quality of chicken is light years beyond BW3s (and I do like b-dubs). Obviously not frozen or anything crazy like that. Sauces are good, but BW3s has better sauce, or at least a better variety. Fried mushrooms are a must every time we go here. Their happy hour is pretty decent too: 2.75 draghts (domestic, of course). Two 4 piece tenders, fried mushrooms, and 3 22oz beers is about 25 bucks during happy hour. I live within walking distance so this joint has a special place in my heart, but prior to being local I definitely made the drive more than once. My only disappointment is the size of the boneless wings. They used to be massive and now they're closer to what BW3s offers, though noticeably larger. I'm not saying there's a relation to this occurance and BW3s closing down the street but... well... I don't know how to finish that sentence. Beer selection is on the paltry side, but I wouldn't really appreciate a nice craft porter while my tongue is blistering, nose running, and eyes watering from Super Killer wings. Yes, the Super Killer is insanely hot so I'd start of with the, um... er... "Donkey" flavored wings to break you in. Caveat to my review: I have never had anything here but the variety of wings. No burgers, pizzas or anything like that, but honestly, why would you? I wouldn't go to Olive garden and get a steak. Very quiet neighborhood, but the parking is very limited with a maybe 8 parking spot parking lot and then a street (which was also pretty packed), I'd be pressed if it was a busy day. But the food was amazing and fresh and flavorful. I'd have to say every other roosters I've been to is fighting to deliver food as exceptional as this one. We get Cajun grilled chicken salads for takeout a lot from here. It's usually quick and a good value. However, lately the quality control has been missing the mark. Tonight we called in a salad order around 6:45 pm, and they said the typical 20 minutes. We walk over at 7:10pm. The cashier says our salads aren't quite ready so we pay. They bring out lots of takeout orders over the next 15 minutes but not ours. By 7:30, I said I you sure you have our order back there? The runner goes back for about the 5th time and says she can't find it. So the cashier instructs the runner to have the kitchen make new Cajun grilled chicken salad for us. About 20 minutes later, out come "our" salads -- plain and without the dressing we ordered. We noticed right away. She apologized and goes back to the kitchen. 4-5 minutes later she comes back with a little tub of the correct dressing and says, "sorry, I forgot to tell them Cajun so you'll have to have the plain." So we left about an hour after placing our takeout order and with the wrong salad. But I got a free toothpick. read more

So I guess this place is known for their wings, however I do not partake in the consumption of animal flesh so my review will based on the options for my vegetarian brothers and sisters. And there is not much, and what they do have is subpar. Stay away from the vegetarian burger, I think it is a microwaved boca burger. The veggie sub might be your best bet, but you can easily make that at home and for way less money. It was sort of a trial and error process, but now have a standard order that's pretty good, but still can't compete with great wing. Hot Garlic - all drumsticks. Everything else I've tried has been bad. But stick with this and you'll satisfy your wings craving. But the place is never packed, pretty quick and friendly enough. My friends make fun of me because I love this place so much - like "cater my wedding" love it. Wings can be done a million ways and everyone has their own preference so it's useless to say they're the best. BUT in the breaded category - yep they're the best. They're huge! Always extra saucy. Flavor list isn't small but also not overwhelming. The standard levels of heat are all great, and the Carolina Gold and Chipotle are 2 of my favorites that many other popular wing stops are missing. Continuing in the chicken zone... the boneless wings are really good size - not "chunked" or shaped from a tube, and the chicken fingers WHOA also huge. 2 fingers can be a meal. The pizzas are personal size, but very good. Each topped with a wing BONUS! The apps list are all awesome hangover snacks while you're waiting for your bloody mary to arrive. The dumpster sauce served with fries & wedges is special to the house and has a great zest. Tuesdays are $1 night for the featured app of the week - all great options! Now moving onto the most important part of why I love Roosters, especially the German Village location - GAMEDAYYY!!! IMO the best spot of anywhere to watch sports. If I'm going to be bound down anywhere for 4+ hours pounding beers, they better be on special and they always are! - cheap. And keep the apps coming during your long hours of Keno - you can afford both because everything is SO AFFORDABLE! (and remember, good too). All of the above I'm ranting about is available for easy carryout too from all locations. I probably take it home weekly outside of football season. Be aware though, the German Village location is tiny. Though more intimate than the others, which is why it tends to be so much more interactive for games. Ordered pick up, servers answering the phone could use some refresher training. Please help me understand how your facility gets the order wrong after being rude? Anyway I ordered dumpster wings with fried chicken only to get grilled chicken. Normally I would let it go and eat because I was tired after a very long day. The part that gets my goat is they tried to shift the blame because I ordered but my BF picked up and said said everything was there so he approved.. I said Ok, given that it was grilled not fried I can even roll with that but why is the grilled chicken breast dry and I asked them to go lite on the jalapenos. I am pretty sure I could expect decent food not dried hamster food pellets on top if I did request grilled chicken. This chicken breast was so dry it literally crumbled in my mouth on the first bite...WTH?? They said they would replace it if I bought it back tonight..how inconvenient. After working from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm my expectation is for them to freaking get it right. I would have even let that ride until I bit into my spicy garlic wings. I had to look at the box because there was barely any sauce and it taste just like regular fried chicken wings. All together I spent $48.00 bucks and wished I just cooked myself. read more

A nice German Village eatery and watering hole. Yeah, part of a chain, but this Roosters is always fun and (more importantly I think) predictable. Good bar food (great burgers, fries, onion rings, deep fried mushrooms, etc.) and Coors light on tap. Not my first choice of beers, but by the end of the second pitcher, who cares? Maybe we were there on a bad night, but I will never go back... I had the grilled chicken strips with medium sauce and a greek salad. The boyfriend had a dozen chicken wings with medium sauce. The salad was made from all canned veggies (not that big of a deal) but the chicken and hot sauce were some of the worst either of us have ever had. I can eat just about anything, but I couldn't finish these. The atmosphere was awful... young, drunk kids singing the backstreet boys, while the waitresses ignored us. And when I asked what beer they had, the waitress said "I don't know. What do you want? We need a list, huh?" Just a weird/bad experience all together. read more

Found this place on yelp we were at the children's hospital it's only few minutes from there. The good was really good. Five people in our party all were satisfied with the food and service. I live in the community near this restaurant and time after time when I order from this location there is ALWAYS a listening problem as there is in most of this country and they consistently give me the incorrect items in my order I've also been skipped in line multiple times because the take out is conducted at the front door which is less than desirable especially with customers coming in and exiting out while customers are attempting to check and pay for orders since there's not an option for zero stars I had to give them one but if they don't start to listen to customers as they order they might as well close the doors. My suggestion is go to any other location besides this German Village location! read more
