The infamous cider mule: RUN, DO NOT WALK TO GET THIS
    Brenna G.

Okay, first, let us talk about how adorable this place is: I am all about the outside of the building, they did great with the vibes and when you walk in, this place is cute, chill and welcomes everybody, what more could you ask for?! Y'all, it's 2022, let's support local already, you will not regret coming here, sign yourself up for a fun, perfect night!! I assure you will leave with a smile on your face. The decorations are unique and fun. The bartenders did amazing on making my cocktails, as you know they can be a hit or miss. The cider mule they made for me is definitely my top five favorite drink in Columbus, especially after living here for eight years!

Street parking, which is a problem with all the snow so be careful, but also a good sized parking lot out back. It's in an old house, and it feels like a neighborhood bar. Woody, warm, some TVs with games playing. Plenty of tables, and another room in the back so more room than you might think. Plus, it looks like you can go upstairs. I think the bartender was by himself, so I tried to make it a little easier on him. But he was doing a good job keeping up, with food and drinks. Super friendly and helpful. There's a lot of interesting stuff on the menu, but I knew I wanted pierogi, and then I saw the garlic green beans and went for them. I'm glad I did. They came out perfectly cooked, not overdone, with garlic, lemon juice, and some blue cheese dressing on the side. Very good. The pierogies were excellent. I don't think they make them here, but they fry them up well here, with onions, mushrooms, and sour cream on the side. Very, very good comfort food. All for like $12 total. I only got four pierogi, but they were big and there were plenty of green beans. Get more pierogi if you're hungry. But seriously, even with a substantial tip I was out of there for well under $20 and full. Definitely will be back.

Kind, personable, and genuinely warm exactly the kind of energy that makes a meal feel like more than just a meal. The burger was everything it needed to be no gimmicks, no shortcuts, just a beautifully made sandwich that delivers on every level. The fries? Equally on point. Honestly, I have no notes. None. The beauty of a Saturday afternoon is there were sports on and TVs hanging on the walls. That made the wait easy. Boy do they know their stuff bc it was pretty much one hour to the minute when they called our name and escorted us to our table. We sat in a booth and took in on the collection of various items around the bar that have been gathered through the years and had some laughs at some of it. It was almost like a fun game of eye spy! They came to take our drink order and by the time they returned we were ready to order. We chatted for a bit and our food came out in what seemed to be a good time. I ordered the Patty Melt with onion straws. My husband got the Thurman Burger. We were surprised by its size when they came carrying it out to our table. Believe it or not he ate every single bite. Said it was delicious. Mine was equally as delicious. Maybe not quite as big but that was fine by me. I actually quite enjoyed that they served the 1000 island on the side. It made it way easier to eat. The cheese was nice and gooey. Just perfect. The onion straws were good too. I shared those with my husband. They were actually just as good on their own as they were dipped in any kind of sauce. That's big coming from me bc I love dipping! We got a box for our leftovers and headed out happy with a great first time experience here.

Over the years ordering has gone from calling and placing the order with someone from the restaurant, to just going online and doing it. It's so simple and easy! One of the things that keeps us coming back again and again is the convenience. Over a 15 year time span, I think they have messed up our order maybe 3 times. Not a bad record considering how busy they are all the time. Also, our food is always ready when we arrive. We never have to wait on it and the waitress checks the order before we leave. As for the food, it's always consistently delicious. Their wings, pizzas, subs, quesadillas, burgers, dumpster fries, all fantastic. We always have leftovers and we are never disappointed with our visit. We avoid eating inside mainly because this location, like pretty much every Rooster's location, is always packed. It's a small restaurant with limited tables, so there is usually a wait time. And the parking here is atrocious. They have a small lot for about seven cars and if you miss out on those spots, you have to drive around looking for street parking. Not ideal! As for my hubby and I, we will continue to order from them every Friday, probably until the end of time. The pros far outweigh the cons, so if you are in the mood for delicious food and a lively atmosphere, this is the place to visit!!

It was the perfect spot for a relaxed, drawn-out dinner where we could enjoy drinks, take our time, and really soak it all in. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which set the tone for the night. Everyone ordered cocktails (I've heard the espresso martini is one of their best, even though coffee isn't really my thing), and honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the drink menu. We started with the Meze, which included house-made falafel, tzatziki, hummus, sun-dried tomato couscous, assorted vegetables, and naan--everything was fresh and so flavorful. They also brought out complimentary focaccia right away, which was such a nice touch. For my main, I ordered the seasonal scallops, and I also tried the chicken thighs with fig, goat cheese, asparagus, parmigiano reggiano, and couscous--both were absolutely amazing. I'd go back in a heartbeat just to try more of the menu. We were there for about 2-3 hours, and at no point did we feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing the staff. The entire experience felt thoughtful, welcoming, and just really special. Highly recommend The Sycamore for your next date night or girls' dinner!

Service: I sat at the bar, and the service was excellent. The waitress was friendly, prompt, and attentive throughout my visit. At one point, while the bartender was helping other customers, she noticed I needed napkins and brought them over without me having to ask. It's little things like that that make a difference. Atmosphere: The ambiance was really nice. There were TVs throughout the restaurant, making it a great place to relax and catch a game. I would thereby say they are not truly ADA accessible oe friendly as one would hope. But as I said we had made the reservation and figured we'd make the best of it. Some of our appetizers got lost and were so late they took them off the bill. Some of our appetizers arrived cool or cold upon arrival, but we were so hungry we ate them. Plus it wasn't like anyone came back to check on us, or ask how was everything or refills. It wasn't until I went back to the bar and asked for refills that we were even visited again. I know our server was also seeming to be the bartender too. I don't think we'll be back and never with any handicapped friends who can't sit at a high top table. I would say the hopes were high but the experience was almost a total dud. Those who got the chicken Alfredo liked it and it was hot. After spending over $220 for the 7 people I paid for with only 1 alcoholic beverage and mostly burgers and appetizers. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere.
