I was very impressed, and I can't find any negatives, so five stars. I've heard they have good wings here, but I just had wings yesterday, and with the bitter cold I was in a pierogi mood, and I've heard those are good as well. Street parking, which is a problem with all the snow so be careful, but also a good sized parking lot out back. It's in an old house, and it feels like a neighborhood bar. Woody, warm, some TVs with games playing. Plenty of tables, and another room in the back so more room than you might think. Plus, it looks like you can go upstairs. I think the bartender was by himself, so I tried to make it a little easier on him. But he was doing a good job keeping up, with food and drinks. Super friendly and helpful. There's a lot of interesting stuff on the menu, but I knew I wanted pierogi, and then I saw the garlic green beans and went for them. I'm glad I did. They came out perfectly cooked, not overdone, with garlic, lemon juice, and some blue cheese dressing on the side. Very good. The pierogies were excellent. I don't think they make them here, but they fry them up well here, with onions, mushrooms, and sour cream on the side. Very, very good comfort food. All for like $12 total. I only got four pierogi, but they were big and there were plenty of green beans. Get more pierogi if you're hungry. But seriously, even with a substantial tip I was out of there for well under $20 and full. Definitely will be back. read more

Not handicap accessible. Asked if they could unlock the back exit door and was told "they don't have a key and it's a building owner thing." Gresso's is a cozy little dive bar that happens to serve the best perogies I have ever had - seriously - these are 5 star perogies! Wednesday is wing night, and they are deeply discounted and very delicious. I had the buffalo on m visit. They were cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside, nice and juicy with just the right amount of heat. Gresso's has the touch tunes juke box, and when we were there it played consistently, which is nice! The place looks like it could have been a house at one time. There are several "rooms" which add a bit of privacy if you're have a get together or a small party. If you're in the area Gresso's is definitely worth a stop. read more

Very cool place, very cool building! We were looking for a new place to try out with some friends. This is a place that has been on our list to try so we have it a shot. The building is a super cool big old house. The stairs as you come in a really cool. There is a ton of seating. Several different spaces. They even have a great looking, big patio we will have to try when it's warmer outside. We decided to sit in the bar. They were really busy. I guess they had a private party upstairs that was way bigger than planned. Despite that, we still got gos service. She didn't forget about us. We ordered a few apps for the table to share. Both were really good. One was the fried banana peppers. Haven't seen those many places. Love those. They were really good. The other was the pork waffle fries. Wow. Great combo and delicious! My friend and I couldn't decide between the pierogies and the Ruben. So we each got one and shared. But we're really good. I would get both again. My husband and other friend both got burgers and they both really enjoyed them. We will definitely go back. They had so many things on the menu we wanted to try. read more

Gresso's is an old house turned (dive) bar. They have lots of TV's and sports memorabilia. The bar area boasts two projector screens on either side with TV's in the middle. If you're planning to watch a game at the bar, I'd recommend getting here early as the space is somewhat limited. However, if you have a group, there are a few rooms with larger gathering spaces to watch games, as well as an outdoor patio area when the weather is warm. They have a full menu, but we tried the fried banana peppers and mozzarella sticks. The banana peppers were pretty spicy, but it might have also just been the Gresso's sauce (think spicy ranch). The mozzarella sticks were really good -- highly recommended. After seeing the other reviews, I'll definitely be trying the pizza next time! Of note, there is small parking lot out back which can be helpful you can't find street parking. read more

My favorite part about Gresso's is that they are dog friendly. There are several outdoor tables with a decent amount of space in between for you to bring your dog. There is also a little porch area to sit up on that can be closed off where your dog can run around if there are not too many patrons. We ended up doing this with our puppy. He was estactic to run around while we ate. You can tell the staff loves animals too. Everyone was excited to see him. They even have dog plates on the menu so that you can let your pet enjoy a meal with you. They have chicken and beef options. I tried their pieorgis and the ruben sandwich. Both were decent. The ruben was a little dry but had good flavor. I went to catch up with a friend. The staff didn't mind that we took our time and enjoyed the atmosphere and the company. read more

The best service I've had in a bar possibly ever. I was going to a concert at The Big Room and wanted to grab some food beforehand, so I started walking and found Gresso's. It's definitely a bar/pub type of environment when you get inside. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, TVs for games, and the staff was so genuinely kind for my entire visit. They mentioned that they have specials throughout the week. On Mondays, they have $6.99 build your own burgers. On Wednesdays, they have $0.75c wings. Was in town for 40th wedding anniversary, came to see Pens on 15th (lose ugh) Then was going to check out Gresso's during Steeler game. Best Steeler bar not located in PA., was like I died and went to Valhalla! Mountaineer burger was great! Crowd was awesome. Beating Ravens was cherry on top! The food is phenomenal here. Little pricy but Fresh & Tasty! From their Pizza, to the wings. They have some Loaded pork sweet potato WAFFLE fries that's a must try for loaded fry fans. The best sized mozzarella sticks I've ever seen with the best seasoned marinara ever. Very good Philly cheese steak with what I call spiral fries!My goodness this place was a great find for me and my family. My wife, daughter, son in law to be had supper here last night, April 30, 2025. Weather was nice and we had a new nice table outside. Bucket of lites, on ice, thumbs up. Smash burger and chips were as advertised, pretty good. Son in law to be had crispy hot chicken sandwich and his meal was as ordered and enjoyable. Daughter had buffalo chicken wrap and she enjoyed her meal too. The bad: wife waited long time for a french dip, now a sandwich was delivered but that's were things turned south, she expected a traditional french dip and no au jus was delivered with meal, I went inside to find no one behind the bar. Waitress was outside taking additional orders and I some how passed her, but a nice gentleman asked if I needed anything, he was the one who delivered a small cup of au jus. The rest of the table was already done with their food by that time. My wife waited until after the bill was paid and we were on our way home, when I found out she was delivered a sandwich with what appeared to be corned beef and onions? Mystery meat did not suit her very well. We asked about Ohio Valley nights and those have been put on hold while the NEW management attempts to bring the restaurant up to their standards. I guess we will see. One waitress, one manager covering the whole place is a poor way to start. read more

Ok--we got their pizza delivered by a third party platform. Order was on time and the driver was very nice. The order was technically correct ... however, the food was just flat out BAD. The pizza crust/Dough was completely inedible. Super dry, overcooked and legitimately hard as rock. Idk how someone lets this leave their kitchen. We've ordered from here before and it's never been amazing, but this is another story! The most appalling aspect of last night's trip was the filth present in the building. I'm talking about serious dirt and grime. Quick little review as I didn't eat there. One day I will come back and eat. I had a little time between baseball games and wanted a quick drink. Glad I picked here. The bartender, Jenny, was great. Good quick conversation, but she seems to enjoy her job and was getting something done non-stop. Love dive type bars, and this doesn't disappoint. It is in an old house. I didn't get a chance to ask about the history of the house, but I have a feeling it has a long history. Also need to investigate the entirety of the building. The perogi appetizer was really well executed. Just enough butter, onions, and mushrooms to complement the perogi. The perogis had the perfect amount of stuffing and were not over cooked. The burger was a good choice. Nicely seasoned, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and the bacon was cooked perfectly crisp. I would recommend this patio to anyone who likes to take their dog. read more

Great game atmosphere with multiple TVS, full sound, and interactive commentary over the speakers throughout the game. Gresso's is a classic German Village / Brewery District spot that every sports fan most likely knows about! It's a well-known Steelers bar, but as a browns fan, I still manage to have a good time when I go! We've watched many football and hockey games at Gresso's, and can always count on them to have a good game day atmosphere. They have a classic beer selection, coors, bud and Miller are the ones you'll see in a majority of patron's hands, and they have a handful of craft beer selections as well. Their pierogies are their #1 dish, no contest. Their burgers are solid, but truly nothing compares to a good Pittsburgh style pierogi which they have absolutely mastered. Visit gresso's on a warm-ish day and you can enjoy the front patio, where things can get rowdy during a game! They play cornhole which is always a blast, and there's ample seating and you're about guaranteed to have a good view of whatever you're there to watch. If you're looking for a reasonable bill, good food, a GREAT time and to support a long-standing columbus spot, Gresso's should be next on your list! read more

However, the bar manager (older female who has been drunk every time I've been in) didn't like my hard rock music that I paid for on Touch Tunes and deleted 3 songs halfway through. I've been to Gresso's once or twice before and had a decent experience. I decided to host a surprise birthday party there this past Saturday 12/7 - I went in-person to Gresso's during the week to make the reservation for 20-25 people - the nice bartender filled out a reservation sheet, confirmed my group could be there at 8pm, and stated to find a staffmember when I got there on 12/7 to figure out where we could place our party. We showed up around 7:30pm on 12/7 to set up for the party to locked doors and no lights. Completely closed and I never got a phone call beforehand (or after for that matter) to let me know they would be closed. We had to scramble and find a new location to host within a half hour before the birthday person of honor arrived. It was very frustrating and I never got a follow up call or apology either. I've tried to call the number multiple times (before the party and the day of the event) just to get a busy signal every time. Was really looking forward to hosting our event there! :( read more

Sorry for this lengthy review but I had to make it clear why Gresso's is losing my business. Sadly, I dont know what to say about Gresso's anymore, other then, go for drinks & the game only & avoid the food! I used to recommend this spot all the time, I will never again until they salvage their ship from the ocean floor! Today I ordered The Village Burger requested to be cooked medium & added a fried egg. The bun was dry or stale, the "sauteed" onions were slimy, undercooked, & had no flavor of being sauteed at all, the fried egg was so overdone that the poor yolk had fallen out of it & was laid back ontop of it (thats a 1st for me), but worst of all the burger patty was so overcooked it was impossible to swallow without a swig of liquid & borderline inedible! I mean my patty must have been accidentally forgotten on the griddle for an hour... Unfortunately that didn't seem to be the case, this was the daily trend I witnessed. I'm sad to say that both the gentleman across the table from me (medium rare) & lady next to me (medium) had the same dry, dust in your mouth patty that I had experienced! Every cook knows a juicy made-to-order patty defines any burger ("burger 101"), so needless to say, I am highly concerned. This comes after our appetizer of "famous perogies" showed up very soggy & undercooked! The exact opposite! I should mention in fairness that our chicken tenders were delicious, crispy, & drenched in Carolina Gold BBQ (easily the star of our meal) mmm! *** Gresso's defense , I was informed by our server (who did a fair job) that the entire restaurant's guests all came & ordered at the same time! However, I have reason to believe this is untrue, as most of the restaurant was full when we arrived & I saw no more than one or two tables sit for lunch within 30 min after us. Furthermore, our server gave us this as an excuse for the very long wait time of an hour to get our meal ( one can bet our burgers were on the grill that entire hour), not for the very poor quality of the food being served! In my opinion, when you sign up to work as a line cook on a busy weekend such as a "March Madness" one, you should know that you're going to be challenged & very busy most of the time, no excuses! read more

We went here about a month or so ago and the male bartender was a younger guy probably in his early to mid 20s and he was so rude ...ignored us for like 30 minutes until the owner or manager whoever finally came up and asked us if we had been helped. I mean here is being all nice to all the other patrons who were younger and my husband and I are in our 50s and certainly do not deserve to be treated like outcasts or something. We probably won't be coming back for a long time if we ever do come back as we have never had a really good experience here and this rude bartender was the last nail in the coffin! read more
