Had a lovely Mothers Day brunch at Roosevelt's this morning with my son. It was the first visit for both of us and we were excited to try it. We are fortunate that my son lives a cry the street so parking was not an issue. Now for the food! I tried the Eggs Benedict and my son had the Crab cakes Benedict. On mine there was spinach and tomato which I love and the eggs were perfect. I only wish that the spinach was wilted instead of placed raw. But overall it was delicious. My son enjoyed his crab cakes. They were about hockey puck size and full of crab meat. He said they were perfect. We enjoyed a Vietnamese iced coffee with a shot of vanilla vodka and a regular coffee with our meals. Service was great as was the ambiance. We only had a small wait as we got there when they opened. My family and I have always enjoyed Roosevelts on Cherry Street. They have good food, although the menu is very small and there's not much for a gluten-free person to eat. Then the city of Tulsa comes in and charges almost $10 for parking. This will change where my family and I eat. The restaurants on Cherry Street should get with the city of Tulsa I let them know the impact on their businesses. The food is not worth the extra $10 for parking and the aggravation of trying to get the app to pay for parking. I'll just go somewhere else. read more

Roosevelt's has a lovely ambience! Definitely was excited to try my first food in Tulsa after hearing about it from my friends and it looked promising upon entering. We had "chambongs" which are champagne flutes that are curved, so you tip it up and drink it quickly from the bottom of the stem. The mojito was not good, but the mezcal drink was good. Everything on the menu looked so good, but I had seen the pesto gnudi on the menu earlier, so I ordered it. It was not. Good. There was hardly any flavor, the roasted red peppers were cut into irregular strips that were too long and stringy, the parmesan seemed like it was definitely not fresh, and the gnudi seemed to be a frozen type that was then mushy when cooked. It was supposed to be pesto gnudi, and I had to dig to the bottom of the dish to find the pesto. There was a half inch of oil in the bottom of the bowl. The whole dish honestly seemed like reheated gnudi from a grocery store. Wish I could leave a better compliment! I will say the service was great! read more

Ok, so the service here isn't necessarily the friendliest, just sort of neutral, but they are definitely efficient and quick. One time when I came here, I was meeting a group of people, and I knew I was going to be late because I was coming from somewhere else, so everyone else had ordered by the time I got there. At some places, this might cause issues like everyone else finishing before that person's food gets there, confusion with splitting checks, who knows what... So I was surprised at how even though I probably ordered 10 or 15 minutes after everyone else in the group, my order got to the table not far behind the rest of the orders. I definitely appreciated that. Also while I'm here, I just have to talk about the awesome decorations this place does for the holiday season! I recently saw/ read somewhere how much they planned to spend on the decorations for 2019. I don't remember where I read this or what the amount was, I just remember that it was a lot. I've never been inside while it's all decked out like this, but if you're driving down Cherry Street around November/ December, you can't miss it even from the outside. It looks so pretty and festive that it makes me happy just to see it from the windows. Table seating wait maybe hour or more!!! I arrived at 11:45am and no parking on cherry street and only back door entrance open here. Luckily I found an open seat at the bar! Love the Christmas everywhere! Decorations galore! Bartender quick speedy service but the food wait was 45 minutes, small pub kitchen and this place was packed not an empty seat in the house. Seen over 50 choices of beer on tap. The tenderloin wrap was phenomenal, healthy and filling selection with tender cuts of meat and bacon and cheese, like a salad but a wrap! Starting out I want to say the Christmas Decorations on the interior are beautiful and amazing! That being said; no restaurant is worth a 1 3/4 hour wait. My wife and I went with friends at 5 pm, because they thought it would beat the rush. They were wrong. Just inside the entrance is a long corridor to the wait stand. It was standing room only. When we gave our name, we were told at least a 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait. There was nowhere to wait. The bar area was four people deep, and everywhere else was in the way of staff and patrons. I was ready to blow the popsicle stand. But my wife and her friend were adamant. We waited while alternating between the corridor and outside because it was hot inside and cold/windy outside. It was frustrating to see empty tables that were open for long periods because they were not bussed, and then when they were bussed, there was a long delay in seating. Very unstructured. When we did get seated; it took a long time for the wait staff to appear. Only for him to say, "He would be right back". The food and drinks were good. But standard, if a little upscale, bar food. The company was great. The decorations gorgeous, atmosphere fun; but beware they do not take reservations. The wait totally killed it for me. It didn't have to be such a long exercise. Before going, I would download the app DigitalPour to keep up with what they have on tap. It's a neat app that shows you how much is left in the keg, how much a pour will be, and what's next on the list to tap. If you're planning on going 5PM-8PM on a Friday or Saturday, be prepared to wait! We usually come to Roosevelts around 9PM after dinner and drinks elsewhere, so seating was immediate. For the holidays, they really deck the halls. The place is covered in tinsel and holly from the floor to the ceiling and every so often, they'll play a Christmas song like Elvis' Blue Christmas and a light show will play with the music! Such a fun experience. We were stoked to see Bourbon County on the tap list, so we knew we had to come. They have rare finds like that and a huge selection of local beers too. Very mixed bag, the wait was an hour and a half which was expected. The check in process was a mess with multiple lines trying to figure out what to do. A problem easily solved by a sign that said wait list or check in. We got the call and noticed about 30% of the seating was available and blood was boiling at this point. Finally found out what this is all about! I'd heard about Roosevelt's Christmas situation for four years. I've lived here, but have never had the chance to come during the season. Now I understand. Sign me up for a fishbowl cocktail with five of my best friends. Girlfriend and I decided we are going to work our way through the menu this holiday season and started off with the jelly of the month club cocktail which is absolutely spectacular and taste like Christmas punch in a glass with a hint of Christmas tree. Moved onto the cotton headed ninny muggins, which is really difficult to say out loud, especially after having a jelly of the month club, and this was one stiff and spicy margarita. We ordered food with the requisite vegetarian at the table and had brussels sprouts and french fries loaded and had to send them back twice because they kept putting bacon on them. Our server was distracted and busy, but not really into us in the food was only meh. Like honestly, they need that guy to come in and redo their menu but the drinks made up for it and I will be back for the holiday spirit and the delicious beverages. As it got cooler, they turned on the heaters which was great. Our server was great and attentive, really nice vibe there. We started with the shishito peppers, nicely blistered with a chilli aioli. The aioli was ok but peppers excellent, lots of seasoning and a huge order, did not even finish. I had the Hyde Park burger, perfectly medium rare, super tasty and good fries. My friend had the fish tacos and she really enjoyed them, came with 3 and side of cilantro rice. I also did a beer flight as they had over 90'on tap and all kinds of mixed drinks. We started off with the taco appetizers; both the Mahi Mahi tacos and the Roasted Portobello tacos. the Mahi Mahi were good, but the Portobello's were great. Even if you don't like mushrooms, you will definitely love these. The savory flavors were off the hook. Each appetizer come with three tacos so they could also be ordered as a meal (on the lighter side). I then had the Tenderloin Burger with a side salad. The burger was so large (house patty, topped with tenderloin, brie, arugula, crispy shallots, red wine aioli) I had to cut it in half; enough for another meal. The tenderloin was melt in your mouth perfectly cooked and the medium rare burger showed just the right amount of pink. The burger could have used more seasoning, but it was still cooked to perfection. One of my buds had The Hamilton Wrap (shaved tenderloin, bacon, hard boiled egg, crispy shallots,blue cheese dressing, mixed greens) which he says was "legit" and worth ordering again.
