I would call Roosevelt Coffee a hidden gem since it's so tucked away, but it seems like everyone knows about it. Roosevelt Coffee is in a commercial area that doesn't get much foot traffic unless you're intentionally coming here. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. When I entered there was a large seating area with thoughtful outlets all around. Wifi available. Staff is friendly and quick. I ordered their Orange Creamsicle Latte ($7.75) and a prepackaged toffee Mulas Munchies Cookie ($6). Omgosh what an expensive cookie. Had I known I wouldn't have gotten it. The Orange Creamsicle Latte was good but the balance is a little off. I would like it more creamy it's called an orange creamsicle. I was able to get a seat, but it was a chair without a surface. I still overall really like the ambiance here. It has a nice busy get work done energy while still being fairly quiet.
I've had this place bookmarked for a long time. While recently running errands, I stopped in on a weekday late morning and was supremely disappointed. This place is located in a large business plaza with tons of parking. The interior has a lot of seating but when I arrived around 10:30am every single seat was taken (around 40 people were laptopping away); it was packed! This thwarted my plans to relax and enjoy coffee and pastry before driving home. I hesitantly decided to order to take home: a hot vanilla latte plus two items from their pastry case - a blueberry muffin and an almond croissant. The latte was blistering hot and needed the 20 minute drive home to cool down enough to drink. It lacked vanilla taste and just tasted burnt; thanks but I can get that at Starbucks. The cost of this child-sized cup was as much as most places charge for a large. When I opened the bag for my pastries, I was surprised to see instead of a blueberry muffin I was given a cinnamon roll with no icing - just sprinkled with lots and lots of cinnamon sugar. How can you mistake this for a blueberry muffin? She even repeated my order and I even directly pointed to it. The roll was fresh but with each bite, cinnamon sugar sprayed all over. After two bites and showering the table with tiny bits of sugary cinnamon, it got tossed. The almond croissant was the absolute worst pastry I've ever had. It was an embarrassment. The texture and flavor was like eating sand - unbelievably dry, crumbly, and flavorless. One expects an almond croissant to have frangipane or almond paste inside. This croissant was cut lengthwise in half and had a minuscule amount of some sort of tasteless cream spread between the halves; I couldn't even see it but knew from the moistness that something was there. I can't convey how truly awful this pastry was. The only good thing I can say was that the two women working here were nice even though they made a terrible latte and don't know what a blueberry muffin is.
This place is so good, but wow can it be pricey! First off, love the vibe of the space - lots of seating inside with some additional tables out front, and a nice selection of board games to play with as well. Per the barista's recommendation I tried the black sesame matcha - with oat milk, this drink costs $9.75. Pretty expensive for a matcha if you ask me, but wow was it good lol. The black sesame had a delicious nutty flavor with a great sweetness level overall! Would love to come back here as a once in a while treat.
I can't think of a coffee shop that feels more Irvine-coded. Pulling up in the private lot, I found plenty of parking behind every other white Tesla Y. In fact, it probably made finding my car it a bit easier because of it. Once entering the main shop on the right (see picture) the demographic leans more toward UCI students with laptop plugs galore, Korean mom's meeting up with pre-school children coloring in the corner, and your coaches for the local HS sports teams taking a quick break to refill their 2nd or 3rd cup of coffee. In terms of coffee, I tend to lean on the traditionalist side and like my drinks more coffee forward. This time I ordered a cortado that was just the perfect amount of espresso forward accompanied by milk that did not taste overly warmed/steamed. It may be a simple drink, but Roosevelt did it well. For those who aren't as pompous as me about my orders, I was still very impressed by the Asian and Asian-American takes on traditional drinks and pastries. Count me in as a fan. Outside the coffee, one of the tell-tale signs of a good shop is the baristas. Every time I come in I feel like the shop is run by not just some of the friendliest staff, but just the friendliest people I have encountered in the county in general. Overall, between the quality of the food, the prices, the staff, and the general warm environment it would be hard not to add Roosevelt Coffee to my coffeeshop rotation.
Love that they have kombucha on the tap from fermentation farm. Very busy place. Lots of people sit here for hours to do work and study. Ambiance is open and clean. Music is not too loud so you can focus. The service is nice. Only took off star because all flavored drinks are using syrup not puree. Otherwise, it would be 5 star
Drinks aren't the cheapest but not as pricey as LA. The seasonal drinks are priced around 7 dollars. I tried the banana oat Matcha latte less sweet and really enjoyed the strong earthy taste of the Matcha. The banana flavor, though was more subtle, but I liked how it wasn't overly sweet. They do have quite a variety of pastries and even bagels with cream cheese. They had run out of the spinach, mushroom danish when I had gotten there, but I did try the garlic knot, which was five dollars and very crispy when warmed up enjoyed it with my Matcha. They have plenty of chairs and seating even a couple of tables outside I liked the availability of outlets against the wall. This is a very decent place to work or study from although I wouldn't say it's the quietest place to take a meeting if you're working from home it is even a great place to catch up with friends.
Really enjoyed this place! I had the iced matcha, and my friend got the iced latte--both were fresh, smooth, and delicious. The café has a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and quick service. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!
Great cafe in the Irvine area! It's located in a small business-center location. Super easy parking, spacious inside with plenty of outlets, and there is a good amount of seating inside (outside has only a few tables). I love the Black Sesame latte - have tried many before and the quality of the black sesame paste is the best I've had. Great quality espresso too but not the best I've had. Also tried the cinnamon morning bun pastry - was really good. They have a small but well rounded selection of both sweet and savory pastries/breads from their business partner Goodtown Doughnuts (great business move). Service is really good. They have long lines but move fast without sacrificing quality. I love how they have a clean area to put your dishes when you're done - it's clearly labeled next to the trash and recycling. I'll be back in the future! They seem to have other great coffee/matcha flavors so I'm excited to try more of them.
Best coffee ever--seriously, get the sesame latte! It's unique and so good, definitely the highlight. I will say, don't expect the friendliest service. It's more of a grab-your-coffee-and-go or sit-and-study type of place rather than a super welcoming vibe. That said, it's a great spot if you're looking to buy quality coffee beans or just need a chill place to study. I rated it 3/5 due to terrible customer service. An Asian girl helped us with colored hair and she gave us attitude when ordering and didn't greet us. I really wanted to give 5 star due to the coffee but service is poor.
I was SUPER excited to try this place, but I'm unsure if I would go back. The place is really nice, lots of seating and tables. The workers are also very friendly and attentive. I resisted the temptation of their exotic flavored drinks like orange creamsicle and key lime, and instead got an iced vanilla latte. It was just okay, the beans tasted a bit burnt and overall not the best. The drinks are on the pricey side as well, but not crazy expensive. Overall, nice place, I just may not go again.
Delicious black sesame latte! I recommend no alterations, though Oatmilk is a must! Servers explain what decreasing sweetness is just less of the umami black sesame. Great suggestion! I'll listen next time :) great place to work, meet and greet, or have a quick coffee with friends. The movie this week was fantasia!
Hidden back in the office buildings is a gem! Don't go by too fast, you might miss it! There is ample parking and simple signage. I love the vibe & the laid back atmosphere. The barista's are SO friendly and have great recommendations. The Geisha pour over was recommended and it did not disappoint. Perfect temperature and you can taste the time that goes into this art! Smooth flavor, no burnt taste, and no need for any condiments! My friend got the almond croissant...I politely declined to try it as it looked so good that I would've wolfed it down. Already making excuses to go back!
There must be something in the coffee... Inside a business complex is a coffee shop with a sleek, modern feel inside. The line was going out the door on a Saturday Morning, and the inside was bustling. I believe this is one of the few new roasters in the area, so the traffic was expected. The Black Sesame latte was delicious. At first there wasn't much flavor, but duh, you gotta mix it up a bit...and after that the flavor came through in spades. Real roasted black sesame flooded my taste buds. Service is great, fast, and efficient. No complaints here!

Came here to cowork with a colleague because we'd both had been wanting to try this place. This coffee shop is tucked amongst a business complex, with plenty of parking spots. On the inside, there's quite a handful of seating options ranging from high tables to low tables. They seem pretty popular as a getting work done type of coffee shop. Someone even had their whole desktop there! I got the banana latte with oat milk and it was alright. I couldn't taste the banana very much, and it tasted a bit like a regular latte to me. Orders are taken at the front, and they call your name once it's ready, which took about 5 minutes. They also have outside seating, but on a hot day, everyone was pretty much inside. This spot is great for a quick pick me up, but if you're looking to get work done, you'd have to be lucky to get a seat. read more

Bookmark it! The perfect coffee shop to study, work or just hang out! It is spacious and clean! My ginger bread latte was delicious and not too sweet. I did ask for half sweet and it was perfect! I love their banana latte, I've tried 2 others but always come back to this one. They play great music while getting your work done. It can be quite busy with less open seats so I'd go right when they open. Their croissants are delicious, especially the jalapeño cheddar one. read more

This is my fave coffee spot in OC! This place has the most full flavored coffees and their offerings are all so unique and delicious. I used to order their sesame latter but I heard that is discontinued due to the supplier discontinuing the flavor which is very unfortunate, but they have other great flavors to compensate for the loss! Haha I always come here to work on my laptop and find the atmosphere great for getting a coffee with a friend, reading a book, or working. They have clean tables, outlets, and great internet service. Their service is always great and the staff is so nice that they even try to learn customer's names! read more

Had some time to burn before a meeting so we tried Roosevelt coffee and it was awesome! I had a flat white and my wife had a latte and spinach croissant. Everything tasted very awesome, I really enjoyed my coffee! The staff were super friendly and the shop was very clean and welcoming. If we lived closer I would definitely come back!! I'm a banana lover so you bet I had to try their Banana Oat Latte Iced. Coffee was settled not bitter at all, so smooth, oat milk was creamy and then you get your hint of banana flavor with the cinnamon sprinkled on top. Great mix Roosevelt Coffee. The croissant was flaky in the outside and layered buttery fluffy in the inside. Delicious! I wished I lived closer to this coffee shop because you bet I would be here daily for my morning coffee before work. Service with a smile. Thank you for a great experience. read more

This is in response to customer named "Fati". This customer brought her dog in the cafe and then had the audacity to lie to management and say it was her service dog when there was no service vest on the dog. The dog then started barking and disrupting the environment of the cafe. She also took up a booth that had a sign that said "Reserved for groups of 2 or more" and did not even order from Roosevelt Coffee; the customer had a starbucks cup in her hand. The manager who came to talk to the customer was very courteous and calm while talking to the customer. There was no sense of rudeness from the manager however "Fati" herself was very rude to the workers and the manager. Anyways, I recommend the Lavender Latte, it's super good! read more

Roosevelt Coffee was such a pleasant find! We tried the pineapple sparkler and the seasonal orange creamsicle matcha. The creamsicle was definitely a creative concept (you can get it as either a latte with espresso or a matcha, which I loved!)--the fruity notes were fun, though I'm still undecided if it totally worked for me flavor-wise. That said, the matcha itself wasn't drowned out, and I don't regret giving it a try. The pineapple sparkler was refreshing and bright--perfect for a warm day. And though I didn't get a photo, the ube coconut cookie was a highlight: light, crispy, and gone in seconds. The space is large, airy, and well-lit, with plenty of tables that make it a solid spot to study or hang out. Parking was super easy with a good amount right outside, which is always a plus. Overall, great quality drinks, friendly service, and a space I'd happily come back to--especially to try more of their unique seasonal options. read more
I've come to Roosevelt Coffee multiple times for wellness and co-working events that are held upstairs in their event space. I usually order one of their seasonal coffees; last time I had their pumpkin pie coffee, which was delicious! They use Sightglass Coffee, a high quality coffee brand based in San Francisco, so you know you're getting the good stuff. The main issue I have with Roosevelt Coffee is that it's very hit or miss finding seating to get some work done, especially if you come in the afternoon. It's a good place to work - IF you can find seating. I've gotten lucky a couple times, but I've had to take my business elsewhere at times (usually Starbucks in the next plaza over lol) when there was no space for me. I'm hoping they will expand to other locations or find a larger space, because I do love their coffee and ambiance! read more

My favorite thing about Roosevelt Coffee is their seating options. Inside the shop, expect a very spacious and welcoming environment that is perfect for studying. Their coffee and hojicha lattes with their various cream tops are very good. The pastries are delicious, I love the tomato bacon croissant and the turkey and cheese croissant. The staff is very friendly. If you want a perfect spot to get work done or study, I suggest you go to Roosevelt Coffee! read more

What a special place! I recently came across it and have since visited quite a few times now. The first time I came here I was way too eager to have my coffee that I forgot to snap a photo but I remember this time! We ordered a classic Cappuccino ($5) and the Yuzu Basil Espresso Tonic ($6.50). Both were very well made. The cappuccino was great with the beans and the barista who made it did a good job. The Yuzu Basil Espresso Tonic was balanced and refreshing, just what I needed (it was more yuzu than basil, which I'm thankful for). I go for an espresso tonic when I need caffeine fast and the yuzu gave it a summer feel perfect for the hot weather. Previously, I've gotten the Orange Creamsicle Latte which truly tasted like an orange creamsicle so highly recommend that one as well! The cafe itself is very hidden in what seems like a corporate plaza. The nice thing is there's always available parking. The interior is also very spacious with lots of seating. Even if the seats inside fill up, there are still some places to sit outside. The vibe is light and refreshing and the staff are all very nice. The most recent time I came here, I believe I met the owner, he was super friendly and recommended us some drinks. It's always nice coming here and we've been bringing friends over to check out this place. Probably going to be a regular soon haha! read more

Had a really great latte at Roosevelt Coffee the other day. I was in the neighborhood and was looking for a place to get some work done while having a good coffee. Looked it up on yelp, saw the good reviews, and went. I did not know it was in a corporate park, but it was not at all sterile on the inside. Had some cool music playing, and the latte was perhaps the best I've ever had. It was a little pricey, but maybe that's for the awesome artwork they put on the foam. It was good but it would have been better if the black sesame was incorporated into the latte instead of just sprinkling on top. There was a live music which was nice. We came here after lunch on a co worker's suggestion and this place is so cute! I would've never found it on my own if it weren't for his recommendation. They have high quality coffees and free WiFi for those who want to study or work in the coffee shop. The service was very friendly by the staff, and my latte was delish. I ordered a lavender latte and it had just a hint of lavender taste, very refreshing to say the least. The foam was frothy on top, just how I like my lattes. Ok wow, did this place exceed my expectations! Roosevelt Coffee is tucked away in an Irvine business center, so it's easy to miss unless you work around there. The ambiance is sleek and pleasant, which is probably perfect for the business workers nearby. The baristas were friendly and answered our gajillion questions with grace. Roosevelt Coffee's unique twist is their black sesame series, for which they add a black sesame syrup and powder into your coffee or matcha. On the rare occasion I do get a black sesame flavored drink, there's so much of those crushed seeds that it impacts the texture for me. But Roosevelt handled this perfectly! The Black Sesame Latte (as is, no adjustments) had the right amount of sweetness and just a dash of the seeds themselves. The sesame flavor was there but not overpowering. We also got a latte with 1 pump of their lavender syrup and a vanilla cream foam top. Also delicious. Excited to come back here and try some of their baked items. read more

Hidden in an Irvine busniess center, this little coffee shop has a nice and fairly quiet place to study and try out their seasonal drinks like this hot Orange Creamsicle Latte with a well designed foam art that looks like a witches hat. The drink itself is delightful as the rich flavors of vanilla and orange blend well together. The service was great, very fast and friendly. Roosevelt coffee has now become my go-to for good darn coffee, and a perfect spot to co-work for a couple hours early in the AM. Their flat white is always my pick and they've done it well. I've gone to many coffee shops and still in the hunt for new ones, and so far Roosevelt coffee has tickled my heart just right to keep coming back. The service is fast that you won't be waiting for your order long to enjoy it whether for there or to-go. The ambiance of the whole place is warm and uplifting, with the organic light that comes thru to keep the place well-lit and energized in the morning along with the very niche and perfectly picked out decor to make it feel modern and clean. With that, this spot is the place I'll be doing my coffee chats with friends and businesses. P.S. Don't forget to try their cookies from Mula Munchies (it's better than crumbl lol) AND their delicious pastries to pair with your beverage ;) read more

Good Iced Vanilla Latte Ambiance is nice. I like the Mickey decorations and it has a chill vibe. However the price is way overpriced. My favorite coffee shop has Latte's for $5.5, no up charge for oatmilk. Paying $7.50 for a good (not fantastic) latte is not ok. After all it's 90% water with some bean juice, vanilla syrup, ice (more water), and a splash of oatmilk. Then the register has an option for a tip. Even if the service is good, I'm not inclined to tip (for a 30 second interaction) for a drink that comes to $7.50 without a tip. Anyhow I enjoyed my drink but was not impressed enough to come back. read more

Really loved the coffee here specifically the cappuccino and strawberry matcha. Love how they serve in porcelain mugs. Super nice presentation. The coffee beans they use tasted very fresh. A lot of seating inside and outside. read more

I worked out of this cafe right when it opened at 8am, and almost all the booths were already taken. There's only a couple outlets available near the counter seating and large taller table. However, there is a good amount of space to just chill and hang with friends. The sesame latte was very delicious, and it paired well with my ham and cheese croissant which was so flaky and rich. Next time, I'll have to try the sesame matcha drink! Service was very kind and attentive. And the ambience of the cafe was very cute and relaxing on a cloudy Friday morning! read more

Is your coffee organic and do you have Good Mylk or similar?
Hi Ashley, some of our blends like Crown Point Espresso and Blueboon Cold Brew are organic. We offer oat milk from Ghost Town Oats as a milk alternative.

No it does not, I got mine with just the scone
