Last year I had the treatment done to my roof and realized this year I was taken advantage of by the salesman. I have MANY shingles that barely have a trace of granules on them and nails showing through on some. I had my suspension that it wasn't doing as told it would when I constantly have granules on my walkway and in my gutters. Make sure your roof is inspected by a reliable contractor before letting Roof Maxx apply a treatment. I work hard for my money like most people and now feel like it all blew away just like the granules. I hope they do the right thing and refund $$$ read more

My roof was covered with sticks. seeds and nutshells. There was an old satellite dish. flaws in the flashing around the chimney, it was streaked and some of the shingles were out of alignment. It didn'f leak but it looked pretty sad. I saw the Roof Maxx ad on TV and called. Drew came out and gave me an estimate. In 2008, the roof had been replaced due to storm damage. I remember it cost the insurance company around $15K. Today it would be much more. So I decided the Roof Maxx process would be good maintenance. It took two days. They came with a full crew and did an excellent job in removing our old shingles and installing the new ones. They were friendly and before starting covered all our lawn furniture up and put it back in place once the job was completed. They had a magnetic roller that they rolled over the lawn and flowerbeds to collect and remove any fallen nails from the ground. Our salesman and his manager came by during the install to make sure that everything was going to our satisfaction. Would highly recommend this company for anyone needing a new roof! Roof Maxx will be incredibly attentive and supportive while they are courting you. After the work is done and they get their money, they are pretty much unresponsive. We had to ask multiple times for the warranty and finally got it after several weeks. Unfortunately, we were not at home when the treatment was done, and our roof didn't look much better, in fact there was one area that didn't look like it had been treated at all. After lots of emails and phone calls, a CSR said she would call my husband back within a day and send someone to look at the roof, test it for flexibility, and retreat it if necessary; that was more than a month ago. The concept is great, the execution is not. Good hard sell, no follow-up. I feel like we wasted our money, despite the mostly good reviews. read more

He whipped out a notebook that was very thick and started to go through each page until I stopped him. He was trying very hard to make a sale and wouldn't take no for an answer. My roof is 12 years old and was beginning to show signs of wear, cracking etc. Roof Maxx came out and conducted a free roof inspection, identified a few problem areas and I signed up. The crew came out and did all repairs and treatment in just a few hours. My old roof looks brand new and I got a lot more miles out of it. I had an opportunity to learn of RoofMax while getting estimates on a total reroof. Chad Stevens was able to explain the process completely, answer questions, went up on the roof and took many photos of areas that either needed new shingles, some moss growing, or nails coming up from the shingles. We recently had our roof replaced. John of RoofMax was able to set an appointment with us even on a Saturday, and honored the estimate which he did months ago. He explained the whole process patiently and answered our questions thoroughly. We were able to choose from different options of color and material for the roof, gutters and downspouts. We also had a flat roof and skylights which needed to be changed as well. It took about 2 weeks ( it was still raining the past couple of days) before Dino contacted us to schedule the work. Once they started on the roof, it took only 3 days -and roof was done. Remember to plan to bring your pets out as they'll get bothered with all those commotion above. Just be prepared that you might have to add on to the original cost based on what they see once they remove your old roof. I called Roofmax for a new roof estimate based on the reviews I read on Angie's List, although now I wished I had checked yelp first. Yelp, I apologize for cheating on you. I've learned my lesson. So, there were two things that rubbed me the wrong way when the estimator came out: 1) Before doing anything, he asked me what my budget was for a new roof. This is the #1 question I hate from ANY contractor/builder. How about you give me a written estimate before I discuss how much I'm willing to pay? 2) He told me we needed to set up a follow up appointment 'with all the deciding parties' to review the estimate, and then asked me to sign up for a date on the spot. He also asked me for the names & contact #s of the other 'deciding parties' (which is just my husband) which struck me as a blatant intimidation tactic. I told him I would discuss with my husband and get back to him. After getting 3 other roof estimates, I realized it was totally unnecessary to have a 'follow up appointment' just to review an estimate. All of the other companies I dealt with were more than happy to email me their estimates. Given that my husband and I have conflicting schedules, scheduling an appointment when we're both available would be a huge inconvenience. I called the RoofMax office and explained the situation to them. I told them I'd love to review an estimate by them, but it was simply not possible to schedule a follow on in person review. The girl on the phone seemed exasperated and told me it was company policy and they do it to provide 'superior customer service and a personal experience.' Really? Making my husband and I take timeout of busy schedules to review something every other company is happy to do off line is superior customer service? When I pressed and said every other roofing company was happy to email or mail me their estimates she said 'hold on, let me talk to someone.' After being on hold she came back and said 'sorry, we can't email you an estimate. I can't even mail it to you. It's against company policy. Can I set up that appointment for you now?' I told her no thank you and ended the call. Had I been told when I made the phone appointment that the ONLY way I could get an estimate was to have a follow on IN PERSON appointment with the estimator, I would have passed and not wasted my time, or the estimator's time for that matter. To me, this is a blatant intimidation tactic to try and get the customer to make a decision on the spot about an estimate, and to do it under the guise of 'customer service' is simply ridiculous. read more

My wife and I did our usual due dilligence and obtained three bids for re-roofing our home. Although the Roofmax bid from Rob was not the lowest, it was definately the most professional and informative. We were also sold on the warranty on the material and the labor. The Roofmax warranty, transferable for twenty years, went far beyond the other two bids and this was very important to us. The workers were punctual, careful of our existing gutters, and they cleaned up every day. We opted for additional insulation and the replacement of all of our barge rafters that were in poor condition and we feel that we received a very good deal for these additional items. 1) Bottom line: RoofMax provided excellent knowledge and exemplary service and we are totally satisfied we received good value for our money. We identified a couple of roofers but were impressed by the reviews given for RoofMax (a sister company of Yorkshire roofing). We called RoofMax and told them about the current damage to our roof and our desire to get an estimate to replace the roof. They sent someone that day to repair the roof to avoid further damage, and scheduled Dan to give us an estimate. Dan was personable, and totally knowledgeable so we were comfortable discussing details (both aesthetic and technical) with him. Dan provided detailed roofing brochures to help us choose our roof. Once we identified our color and material preferences, we traveled around looking at other roofs the company had done. We got to talk to one homeowner who expressed his total satisfaction with RoofMax. We met again with Dan to finalize our decisions and at the same time saying yes or no to his valuable recommendations. He estimated about 2 months before they could do the installation. Two weeks later we got a call telling us some time had opened up and we agreed to schedule the following week. Workmen showed up at the scheduled time (first was the "demolition squad" to remove the old roof). Materials including the wood, roofing tiles and insulation arrived on schedule. They vacuumed out the old insulation and blew in new insulation. One of the workmen, Mike, was totally helpful in assisting us and letting us know he was happy to answer any questions or address concerns we might have. His communication skills were wonderful and we felt involved with the whole process. read more

Methinks most definitely NOT! Caveat Emptor, baby, which means "Let the buyer beware" and is completely warranted here. This company sent me a representative that went up on the roof, ascertained the problem (echoing another company, who made the same diagnosis, so at least he was honest) and then sort of wrote up an estimate for me. The rep's name was Jesus. The Good: * Honest assessment of the problem. * Punctual in arrival time. The Bad: * Did not volunteer that the repair he was offering would not address the problem permanently. It wasn't until I asked a significant number of questions about what he wanted to do that it was obvious to me the repair he was offering was a stop-gap measure (of two years) that would need to be done again every two years for the life of the roof. When I realized this and asked him, he was even reluctant to confirm this, which frustrated me. I can't make good decisions without complete information, after all. * This company explicitly DOES NOT guarantee their workmanship for any duration of time. Period. It's written right there on the contract, which I asked Jesus (the rep) about, and he confirmed that they offer no warranties or guarantees at all, of any kind, not even on their workmanship, which is pretty shifty in my opinion. The Ugly: * Jesus tried to assure me that he would come check on the work and fix any problems if there were troubles after the work was done. With the "no guarantees" written right across the bottom of the contract, this was a shine job designed to get me to sign, and I would have had no recourse if there were problems. I don't trust reps that do this sort of thing, and it speaks volumes about the company policies themselves. * Jesus also failed to write "estimate" on the contract he was offering me, attempting to pressure me into signing an authorization to start work (as it read at the top) before he even went up on the roof to assess the issue. I declined until he wrote "Estimate" on there, which he didn't do; instead he opted to go up on the roof and begin the inspection. Another warning sign, people. * No estimate ever sent. Jesus wanted to knock the work out right away, but I insisted that his company send me a written estimate on the work. That hasn't happened and Jesus came out 17 days ago. Summary: They don't guarantee any aspect of their work, they try to push signing documents in a high-pressure approach and they don't follow up even on giving estimates. I can only IMAGINE how hosed a customer might be in trying to get them to come do the work or, gods forbid, actually fix a problem they missed or possibly caused. Go. Elsewhere. Anywhere else.
