In addition, they could meet the assigned deadline. We were placed on the schedule for February 10th. My prayers were there would be no rain until February 14th or 15th. We almost made it, however the rain came pouring down on the 10th and 11th. Thursday, February 12th dawned full of sunshine and the tear out commenced. Additional work was uncovered which unfortunately, yet understandably increased the price. Work continued, the city inspector, approved, and the tiles were installed. As the weekend approached so did an impending storm. The team returned Saturday, February 14th which meant they were with us and not their Valentines. Thank you!! The roof was completed before the storm and we've had several days of rain to test it out. No leaks!!! The first roofing company screwed me over and gave me no useful information on a roof inspection other than a handful of pictures and a couple lines that said they cannot make any recommendations or certifications because they didn't work on the type of roof (tar and gravel, older home) that was on this house that I needed inspected (look for my review of the Roof Doctors if you are interested). Long story short is I needed a some sort of roof inspection with useful information to pass on to my clients, so I decided to call Above All Roofing Company. Justin is one of the owners who took over for his father who started the company. I explained the situation to him on the phone and he said explain to me that pretty much very few roofing companies will certify or repair tar and gravel roofs now days and that the best thing is to just replace it when it's time. Even though he did not work on those roofs either, he was willing to go over to the house to look at the roof and give me his two cents about it the following day. After he checked the roof out he called me (I couldn't answer), so he text me his findings. Basically the roof is old, has some rusted flashing and areas around the flashing had been patched in the past. Overall, looked ok at this time, but couldn't guarantee life of the roof. The best thing was to replace the roof with current methods (rolled roofing) which to convert over was a lot of work. Of course he is in business to make money, but he was honest and said the roof may hold up for a few more years. He did offer a written quote on a new roof replacement and did not charge my clients a roof quote inspection fee to help save us some money! They are also solar certified so, they are certified to disconnect, remove and reinstall your solar panels to repair your roof. This will save you some time and headache from dealing with your solar company or maybe your solar company went out of business like mine did. Justin knows how to run a successful business! Just be honest and don't try to nickel and dime potential customers! If anyone is looking for a roofer, give Above All Roofing Company a call! While…read moreup there last week to look at the chimney, I noticed 2 places, each about 2"x6", with clear manufacturer defect (one had no aggregate and the other had exposed fiberglass). Carlos came out today and replaced those sections. He also removed an unused Dish antenna. He noticed that mastic over nails holding the cover where the ridge cap sections come together had weathered and might not be tight - so he placed a patch over them. All for no charge. None of this could be claimed as warranty work. Carlos is just a good contractor who takes care of his customers long after the job is done. BTW, when the original work was done, the contract stated that if any sheathing needed replacement that would be an extra charge. As best I remember, two full sections of sheathing were replaced - but there was no extra charge. Carlos is the kind of contractor we all hope to find but rarely do.

The new roof is excellent, as expected. I interacted with the city inspector when he came to sign off on the job, and he confirmed: it's a very good roof. All of my interactions with Vezer's crews have been positive. To a man, they are courteous, neat and efficient. They do what they say they'll do when they say they'll do it (or sooner). And they don't just clean up their mess--they cleaned my whole patio! For the current re-roof, I got two bids, and they came in at almost exactly the same price, so I can attest that Vezer's pricing is competitive. The person who came out to assess our situation was Adel, and he was easy to connect to and trust. His answers were always knowledgeable and had reasons. He assessed that two of the windows I was replacing were incorrectly installed in the first place, which did not surprise me because whoever lived here in the 90s was a real do-it-yourselfer with more ambition than skills. So those two needed a "rebuild," but our bay windows were fine with a less expensive "replace." Once I signed the contract, the next person to come out was Kevin and he took very specific measurements and also rang with credibility. I was pleased to learn that many of the Window Guild employees have been with them a long time, which speaks well of the organization even if it was sold once. On install day, some new guys came out to get started, and they were also pleasant and professional. Kevin came out a few hours later to provide senior supervision, so this was not at all like having the senior guy sell the work but have nothing to do with getting it done. As it turned out, they needed a second day because we didn't know if my second rebuild was going to need some dryrot work (because it had been leaking) and they didn't want to start that late in the day. They came back in a week and it was just fine. The windows are beautiful to look through and we can already tell they are so much better insulated than our old ones. They are Milgard windows and come with their lifetime warranty, which is better than what Andersen Windows gave us when we used them for other ones.

I can't say enough good about our experience with Roofing Craftsman. We had damage to a couple of roof ridges on our San Anselmo home from raccoons trying to get into our attic. It was a very small job by comparison to most roofing jobs, but it seemed as if we were their most important client. After I called and spoke to Leah on a Friday, Jose came by the next day (Saturday) to examine the damage and prepare a proposal.. As promised, he sent me his proposal first thing Monday. Once I approved the proposal that afternoon, I was told that a crew could come Tuesday morning to do the work. The next morning, Ricardo and Luis showed up right on time and proceeded to do a fantastic of replacing roughly 30" of roof ridge shingles. They were efficient, friendly and did an excellent job of cleaning up the area and removing all debris. Raccoons aside, my wife and I couldn't have been happier with the experience, I will definitely be recommending Jose and his company to anyone I know who's in need a first class roofing job, no matter how large or small. read more

In April of this year we had to have our 9,000 square roof re-shingled. We got estimates from 4 companies and fortunately chose Roofing Craftsman. The first thing we noticed was that Jose phoned us and told us he would be 10 minutes late for our 9 AM appointment. That attention to detail became evident all throughout the entire project. His men arrived on time and the entire crew was careful and neat. They estimated that it would take 5 days and in fact they were finished in 4 1/2. The arrived on time and every night they cleaned up and there was no residual mess around the house. Little extras like washing the clerestory window were done without complaint or extra charge. They obtained the required permit and inspection (a farce) expeditiously. Now 7 months later, with the first rain, we noticed a small leak at one of the gutter junctions. It was repaired within 19 hours of our notifying Jose's wife. We could not recommend this company and individuals any more highly. read more

We went back and forth on this a couple of times in two or three separate calls and came to the mutual decision that the cost was not worth the additional "juice" I would get. Unfortunately, much of this is a result of both inflation (rising cost of materials due to tariffs) and the withdrawal of rebates and other benefits to installing solar. I still firmly believe installing solar is the correct thing to do for our environment and our world. I truly appreciated Diego's honesty in being upfront about the cost. For this reason, although it did not work out for us, I highly recommend working with this company if you want to install solar panels.
