Very very expensive and overpriced for what you get. Staff is fabulous but the salad was warm, tomato sauce was too sweet, and everything was really expensive. I split the chicken parm and that was a great portion size but overall, not worth it. It's a nice place for a special occasion if you have money. For a casual dinner, I recommend going to the taco place across the street. They did give us a nice complimentary dessert at the end though.

What a lovely classic restaurant in Hoid River. The owner welcomed us as did his wife. We started with a Caprese salad with local heirloom tomatoes to share. The prawns romesco was the star of the show with the roasted peppers shining through. We also ordered the cod Parmesan, Osso bucco, Our waiter was attentive and enthusiastic. And had good recommendations. We are big eaters and we had to take leftovers home. When the owner found out we were celebrating birthdays he gave the birthday boys a dessert each. And we also were comped a glass of champagne to celebrate this special occasion.

Food and service were both excellent again. We go here on Labor day weekend. This was our third year, and we will be back next year.

Used to be one of my favorite spots. The food is still good but the prices now require a billfold that will put your leg to sleep.

I'd give Riverside Restaurant a solid 4.5 stars based on our breakfast visit…read more I ordered the chilaquiles, and they were excellent, flavorful, still pleasantly crunchy where they should be, and just a really strong version of the dish. Definitely the standout of the table for me. Service was friendly and expedient, which I always appreciate in the morning when everyone is trying to get caffeinated and out the door. My companions ordered the protein bowl, which was a hearty mix of grains and grilled vegetables with your choice of tofu or egg. It leaned a little bland flavor-wise, but it did exactly what it needed to do: provided a filling, healthy base for a full day of activity in Hood River. Not every dish was a knockout, but overall it was a very solid breakfast spot with fair pricing at about $18 per dish.

The food was OK nothing to write home about. I had lemonade for dinner it was $6.00 a glass and if you wanted another glass it was 6.00 again. They also included the tip on your bill and it was 22%. The server did not earn that high of a tip.

We felt persistently rushed during our meal. More disturbingly, upon our departure, a floor staff member directed an intensely disdainful and unprovoked stare towards us, leaving us feeling utterly unwelcome and bewildered. He stared down at us with his arms crossed as we departed the restaurant. I reported this to the manager, who assured me she would investigate and follow up. However, we have received absolutely no communication or update since then. This lack of action, after a direct assurance, has compounded our disappointment and left us feeling unheard. While we greatly admire the cuisine, the cumulative effect of feeling pressured, judged, and subsequently ignored has prompted us to reconsider our long-standing patronage. Hope the customer service standards improve, ensuring all guests consistently feel respected and valued.

Bad start but we decided to go for it (I planned this stop because they had good looking food and cocktails for the non wine drinkers). There were maybe 4 tables occupied, so I was surprised it would take "a long while". One person from my party went directly to the restroom so didn't hear what was said, when he came out he went to the bar and asked if he could order a flight which he received a strict "no it's going to be a long while" Lol I understand being overwhelmed or whatever, we're human, but to have the attitude was unnecessary. We left after a few minutes and spent $400 at another winery down the road. Which by the way was much busier but because they were kind we stuck it out, our server made a good chunk on tips too. They have a nice patio area with a few (4-5) tables that are covered. We got there super early and opted to sit outside since the weather was so nice. The service was fantastic and our waitress was super friendly. We discovered that she has ties to KC so I always love that. I started with an Adeline blackberry sour. It's pretty to look at and so delicious to drink. Sours in Oregon are hands down the best. I wish we had more of it in KC but I highly recommend that you get sours and ciders if you're in the PNW. For lunch I ordered the Club Sandwich: Sweetheart ham, hickory-smoked turkey, Tillamook white cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon; topped with lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo. It normally comes on sourdough but I swapped it out for ciabatta. First off, it's a HUGE club sandwich. Lots of meat that had amazing flavor. Not some sad deli sandwich at all. The ciabatta had great chew and complemented the sandwich perfectly. No complaints here! Did I eat it all? Yes, and that was a great plan because it kept me going for the next 24 hours that ended up being a cluster that resulted in no food being available. Sandwiches come with chips or a garden salad but I opted for a different side with an up charge. Let's talk about the Oregon Blue Salad: spring mix, dried cranberries, honeycrisp apples, Rogue Creamery Oregon Blue crumbles, and maple candied walnuts; tossed in an apple cider vinaigrette. So GOOD! You can get it by itself and it would make a great meal. Everything was so fresh. Again, not a single complaint. If you are ever in the area, please stop in. Everything was amazing and I can't wait until I return. Double Mountain is on my list to come back to! Highly recommend!

The atmosphere is casual and inviting but the food, both quality and presentation, steals the show. We tried a gin cocktail that was as beautiful as it was inventive. We followed this with the brussel sprouts salad which was lightly roasted but still tasted and looked green in the most delightful way, with some kind of light dressing that celebrates the vegetables in the salad medley without overpowering them. We took Calvin's recommendation and ordered the special which was a three mushroom fettuccine: it was perfection. The pasta was served al dente, the mushrooms included shitake, hedgehog, and one other and all had a unique flavor that stood out with each bite. The pasta sauce was buttery but somehow almost effervescent, embracing but not suffocating, with just enough cheese to know it's there but not enough to have it overpower the dish. At this point we didn't think the meal could get any better but then we ordered the pear, huckleberry, and pluot sorbet made at Celilo and we're now committed to coming back. The sorbet featured locally sourced Bosc pears and that flavor may have been my favorite as it was unlike any other sorbet I have ever tasted. All were sweet but complex. Simply an amazing dining experience that I recommend to anyone fortunate enough to get a table here!
