Came here because it's legit maybe two blocks away from my place. Decided I would try out a drink as we sat by the bar. Please note they have a dress code any flip flop looking shoes are not allowed they made an exception this time around. Service was quick and our bartender was super friendly and gave suggestions. This is def on the higher end want to make sure you dress the part. For one drink I paid around 20 bucks which wasn't too bad didn't try the food so can't comment on that. read more

Romo is a gem in Silk City. We had a 530pm reservation, arrived at 5pm and was still seated immediately. I recommend valet which is $10. If they have a self-park option, it's gotta be a long walk as I didn't see anything near the restaurant. Reception area is not large so it can get crowded if you are waiting. The restaurant is stunning. Vibrant, lively colors. Velvet banquettes & chairs. Huge display screens. There is a private room for larger parties and I believe there is back patio, but I never saw it as we were seated near the front door. Service was very welcoming and fast. Top tier even starting with valet. No complaints. They were also accommodating on meat substitutions with menu items. All of this with a jam packed restaurant. I was shocked at how busy they were at 5pm. Not an empty seat. I was suprised at how warm the temperature inside the restaurant was, but it was abnormally hot outside in this day so maybe their thermostats had not adjusted. The drinks were VERY impressive. The presentation was extravagant, but the taste is what amazed me. Felt like I was in the islands. The food also was a 10. Fusion cuisine, but heavily latin influenced and authentic flavors. I had the Burrata, sushi, fried rice and couple of sides. All delicious. This is a high end restaurant, it comes with the expected price tag. As stated, I was there at 5pm so I saw some kids. Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday at Room Restaurant--she's been wanting to try this place for the longest, so she was super excited! First off, the ambiance was beautiful--definitely a vibe--and the service was amazing from start to finish. The drinks were on point too, which always makes the experience even better. As for the food, the salmon I ordered was a bit bland, which was disappointing. However, my friend had the octopus and said it was the best she's ever had, so that was a highlight! I had a great time at this location, it really surprised me how good the food and drinks were! My friend and I came to celebrate my birthday and had reservations for 4:30pm on Saturday 3/14. We arrived at 4:35pm and waited about 5 minutes before being seated. The area we were seated at was nice and intimate, however, it was a bit tight for my liking. Less than a foot of space in between tables making it hard to get in and out of the seat for everyone, esp someone like me with bigger thighs. I believe they need to work on that maybe put 2 tables of 4 and 1 table of 2 there vs 1 table of 4 and 3 tables of 2. Just a thought. Lighting and ambiance was excellent, so was the music. Not too loud. We ordered drinks my Romo pina colada was great and so was my friends henny colada it was a huge cup and cute with the smoke show presentation. While the waitress was super nice, they didn't follow up with water or offer any drinks before or after they cut the birthday cake so we had cake with no drinks and then felt rushed out. We went to Romo tonight, and while the vibe has a lot of potential, the execution was messy from start to finish. First off, valet parking was a disaster, long lines with no rhyme or reason, and no clear system in place. Once inside, you're managed through multiple lines: a sub-entry, then another line overseen by a bouncer (who was nice, but there was zero structure), and then finally the hostess stand. Here's where it really made no sense: Our reservation was for 9:30 PM. We checked in at 9:27 PM and were told there would be a 25-minute wait. What's the point of a reservation if that's the case? Once seated, service was slow across the board--waiting for drinks, waiting for food, waiting in general. The food itself was decent and tasty, and the drinks were actually excellent. I'm not much of a drinker, but they were well-balanced, smooth, and flavorful (not overly strong, just done right). One big miss: I asked the waitress to sing Happy Birthday to my friend, and she completely forgot, then brought the bill instead. That was disappointing and took away from the celebration. Other issues: Bathrooms had very long lines Patio was freezing Overall flow felt chaotic That said, the vibe inside, with the dancers, music, and energy, was everything. That part, I absolutely loved. Romo clearly knows how to create atmosphere, but the logistics and service need serious improvement. My friend surprised me with brunch to celebrate my bday. We both love Adonis and his music so it was so cute for her to bring here. I was a bit thrown off by the location since it's kind of inside of a chipping center but parking was minimal. They offered valet parking for $10 so I grabbed that to avoid having my friend waiting longer for me. Upon walking in...beautiful and so spacious! Large open space as the main dining area. They had such pretty reddish booths also that stood out. The decor was very clean aesthetically, lots of greenery too which added a fresh touch. We waited about 10 minutes for our seats. The waitress was great. Attentive, friendly, gave us her recommendation on drinks which my friend too and ordered the Mamasota drink and I ordered a Lychee Martini. My drink was amazing.. I ended up having 3 more Food... bomb.. We started with the chicken empanadas and grilled octopus.. the. We had the " little bit of everything " sushi which was basically a combo of all the sushi's they iffer, that was a good choice and very tasty. We also shared the Romo Fongo that came with a garlic sauce..which was delicious. The manager JC came by to ask for our feedback. He was kind and friendly. My friend told him it was my birthday and he asked if we drink champagne before bring us a glass each. I thought tha was pretty considered to ask first before brining it over. We finally get seated and the table isn't big enough for the entire party. We ordered drinks, my lychee martini had zero lychee flavor other than the two lychee garnishes. It also had an off taste. Waiter graciously got us lychee juice to add to our drinks. It still had an odd taste but again, no big deal. I ordered the pulpo version playa and it was nothing like it was pictured. In fact it had less than half of what the online menu showed. The octopus was chopped up in thin coins. Ridiculous but the sauce was good. Got the Cesar salad with steak and avocado. The avocado never arrived, I was never asked what temp I wanted my steak it just arrived well done. It was still somewhat tender so we didn't send it back. The salad was just hearts of romaine chopped in half with dressing and croutons on top. Nothing special. Someone in our party ordered a bottle of champagne. They only brought out two glasses. We had to request 3 more as it was for the females at the table. It would have made more sense to ask how many were needed. Lastly, the valet. Just park your own car or take a cab. Valet is $10 which you pay when you leave. Well they first couldn't locate my car and had me waiting super long. My entire party got their cars before I did. I went ahead and located my car via the app and even put the lights on and honked the horn. They were still unable to find it. One of the parking attendants tried to pacify me saying the car was already being brought over despite me being able to clearly see on the app that my car was still parked. A few minutes pass and at the far end of the parking lot I see my car speeding towards the lot and makes a sharp turn in to it. I turn to the attendant next to me and yell, "he's driving my car like her pays the car note" all in Spanish and he acts like he doesn't hear me. The valet guy gets out my car and when I get in I notice random music playing. Apparently they took it upon themselves to pick a playlist and just jam to some music. Even turned the A/C all the way up for their comfort. I wish this were a damn joke. The lack of professionalism is astounding. Our server Isaac was great. Awesome guy. Ambiance and service were both amazing considering how busy it was on a Friday night. The food was very tasty and the menu had plenty of delicious options, anywhere from Empanadas to even Tomahawk Steak cut at Table-side. I was pleasantly surprised by the drinks, although a bit pricey they are so worth the experience and unique presentation. Made reservations months in advanced. Sat night 9 pm party of 4. took about 5 minutes to be seated. At first we were seated in a room outside the main restaurant area we asked to be moved and the hostess was nice enough to accommodate to a table near the bar. Not to mention the constant bday celebrations felt like we were hearing the same thing on repeat. The big adonis bob head and the dancers is cute gets the crowd going for a bit. The food was good. I had the Lomo which was a bit salty but it balanced out with the sweetens of the cocktails. The fun part about it all were the cocktails and how they are displayed. Overall it was a good experience, it's a place to celebrate, take pics, eat and exit. We all had a main course shared an app and two drinks each and we all paid less than $100 pp. The front is always packed with people waiting to be seated so you do feel the rush as your sitting to hurry along. The parking...is questionable. Not sure how or why they are charging $10 to park in an commercial area. The signs are also very confusing it doesn't say where the valet starts so if it's your first time here you are scrambling trying to figure out where to go. They do accept walk in's but you will have to wait for a table in the front area. Reservations get to hang by the bar until your table is ready. Now... let's talk about the drinks....they are AMAZING and not expensive at all. The cocktails come in amazing glasses and half of them have dry ice, the presentation is phenomenal. Now for the food.... It's pretty much the same menu as Mamajuana's had. But no complaints here. If you are balling on a budget, this is where you want to be. Oh and there's also entertainment. We got to our table and the waitress was super friendly and helpful so much so we had a concern with the way the cups smelled as if they weren't clean enough and had a egg smell to them, again I didn't make a big fuss but surely made her aware of it and she came and swapped it out immediately. We continue to order our drinks and went for the big boy tomahawk steak, which came with 2 sides white rice and toastones. Considering the sides I will say they could be a bit more if you state the tomahawk on menu states for 2 but hey I'm not even mad the tomahawk made up for it in a big way. Well let's get to the overall appearance of the place and Resturants and other staff. The appearance very clean and staff dressed amazing with gloves on for handling food. A+ Restroom clean and easy to get too Food was really good and highly recommend. The overall bill wasn't bad for 2 and drinks and water came out to roughly $250 being $155 for the tomahawk. Note: the Parking situation was a bit odd because it's like your forced to park with valet as the plaza parking is designated spots for other businesses which you can get towed and no one would be responsible but I am glad the attendants did mention something so we parked further down the street as we weren't staying long. But parking is $10 which isn't bad for a birthday party and or a longer stay. My friend made reservations for last Saturday in Jan for 6 people at 9:30p, we waited almost an hour to be seated. The restaurant doesn't have the capacity for the volume of the popularity it has. This is the old Mama Juana location in a shopping center. Parking is chaotic, they charge $10 for valet and it is very slow. There is a men and women's bathroom with 3 stalls each as you can imagine the line for the women side was very long and slow. Once sat down our waitress was very nice great personality, our drinks came out pretty fast the pricing is more for presentation than flavor. The appetizers were good the croquetas and chicharrón I would order again but the pica pillo was bland 3 drum sticks on a small pile of mash potatoes, the pulpo was the last thing to arrive after everyone has finished and it was undercooked. The side dishes ordered with the tomahawk steak arrived next before the 2 other entrees, yuca fries (good), tostones looked old and were hard like they had been fried multiple times, the yuca mash came out cold like a paste, the chicken entree with the bechamel sauce was good but the description mentioned plátano maduro inside but it was literally 2 pieces placed between the chicken, the tomahawk was good they offered and herb butter. The best thing I tasted that night was a sauce that came with the chicharrón, the restaurant is loud, and crowded, the djs were excellent. The manager did come around to see how the service was and we did mention the wait time and food timing, so he gave us complementary champagne. We had a 7:00 PM reservation on 2/28 for 10 people to celebrate my mom and my birthday, but we weren't seated until about 7:45 PM. Once seated, it immediately felt like we were rushed to order drinks, appetizers and entrees. The drink I ordered was the same one I had back in December, but this time it tasted watered down and not nearly as good as I remembered. The appetizers were very good, but the entrees were inconsistent. I recommended the Romo pasta to my daughter because it was amazing the last time I visited it was creamy, cheesy and delicious. This time it was watery and lacked flavor. My son's pasta was also disappointing. After we finished eating, our plates were cleared quickly. They brought out dessert to sing happy birthday, which we appreciated, but only a few minutes later the check was brought and we were asked if we could kindly leave because they had other guests waiting. We ended up leaving around 9:15 PM. According to the reservation terms, parties of 9+ are supposed to have 2 hours and 30 minutes of dining time. Since we weren't seated until 7:45 PM, that would have been until about 10:15 PM. I had also paid a $100 deposit to secure the reservation, which was sent to me as a gift card by text to use that night. Because everything moved so quickly, I didn't even get the chance to use it and was told I can use it next time. Some of the family members who joined us I hadn't seen in a few months, so it was disappointing that the experience felt rushed and we barely had time to catch up. Went out with 2 of my friends and tried a little bit of everything. I love the creativity and uniqueness of this palace along with the nicely put together dining area. They have valet parking which I think it very necessary in this case because parking looks really complicated here. The cocktails are just as good as they look! Worth every penny. My friends and I all got something different, I got the mamasota drink and it came in a ceramic purse! So cute. All the appetizers we got were delicious too, the pastelitos, tuna tartare, and the chicharrón were all great choices. The only downside was we tried the sampler sushi and it wasn't too good. We were most excited to try this too but I will say it was a solid 6/10. Not really what I expect when I get sushi but definitely original. Next time i will try a better entree. We made reservations for 7 for my daughter's 25th birthday. We arrived on time and were greeted nicely. We were told no balloons were allowed so we were okay with that although, she just wanted to take pictures in the patio section but okay we put the balloons back in the car. Then as we are entering we had my daughter's favorite cake but it was a small 9" pan cake inside of a bag and we were told that they would add $30.00 to the bill for bringing in an outside cake unless we want to check the cake in the cake like a coat, they would hold it for us until we left. When we asked for the bill the waitress asked if we would like dessert, I tell her that we have a cake but because we were so full we decided not to cut it and she immediately said, " if you have a cake I need to charge you $30.00 more on your bill " I said the cake wasn't even cut or taken out of the bag. " you are going to charge me for bringing a cake to a table " sure enough they sure did. It was the most outrageous rule I have ever heard of in a restaurant, mind you there is no mention on their website regarding this policy. We ordered appetizers : chicharon, platantain,croquettes, octopus and ribs(all in order in fav) . For entree the tomahawk (came with a show, not too exciting or interactive ) ;also good enough for 4 people, chicken with plaintain dish, fried shrimp rice, all pretty good. My only complaint was that the there should be some steak sauce available for the steak , incase your not into chimichurri, and when the show happens the man should make sure to slice the steak in edible pieces. Our steak was very fatty and still stuck together after being chopped, I understand medium rare might be a little tough to cut but taking the time might make the experience of eating it more delightful. We got lucky to be leaving right when the show started, our waitress went above and beyond and walked into the bathroom to tell us the show started. That is real customer service ! I will be back! The drinks were visually stunning, though my straight Hennessy and Coke tasted a bit weak... maybe that's just me, i was expecting romo feo . We did experience an issue with rude security on the way out, but thankfully ELI stepped in and handled the situation with care and professionalism, which made a big difference. As the night went on, the atmosphere shifted into full party mode, complete with a stunning show, it was a fun and memorable experience overall. This was my first time visiting the new restaurant ROMO. The place itself is beautiful, with stylish décor and great music that sets a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. The staff clearly need more training -- our order was wrong multiple times, which made the meal frustrating. Drinks were overpriced and watered down, and when I ordered a beer, it was served hot. All of the appetizers were disappointing, and even the lobster tasted frozen. The only redeeming item was the steak, which was actually good. Overall, ROMO feels like a spot designed more for Instagram photos than for dining. If you want nice pictures, this might be the place. But if you're looking for good food and service, stay away. It's super expensive for no reason, and I won't be returning. Next time, I'll happily stay home and order Chinese food instead. read more

We visited Romo on Saturday to celebrate a birthday, and there's no denying the place is stunning. The layout, decor, and overall aesthetic are truly beautiful. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The drink menu is creative with very cool presentation when they're brought out. If you enjoy sweeter cocktails, you'll like their selection. Our server, Kathy was wonderful and attentive throughout the night. That said, there were a few areas that could be improved. Although our reservation was for 11, the table was set with only 10 seats and 8 place settings, and we weren't provided with menus upon being seated. When the drinks arrived, a few were incorrect and the runner seemed unsure of who ordered what. When it came time to order, we learned that appetizers and entrees are handled by different kitchens so entrees are ordered first. The appetizers then came out almost immediately which made them feel pre-prepared. My husband's pulpo was also served cold. Still tasty but not quite what you expect from something grilled. The rest of the dishes were good. Overall, with a few adjustments such as ensuring proper table setup, providing menus right away, improving communication between staff and updating the music rotation the experience could be even better. Although the ambience was very nice, the food was nothing to write home about. The regular Latin fusion food. But the worst part of it is that you have to pay for valid parking because there is no place to park in that small lot where the restaurant is located. If you decide to park on your own across the street in another plaza, there appears to be some kind of a scam because there's a tow company that takes your car away without warning. So you're subjected to pay the $10 for valet parking, which in the scheme thing is not a big amount of money if you compare it with the headache and fee of the towing company. However generally no other Restaurant charges to valet park your vehicle. If they tow your vehicle you have to pay $250 in cash that way there's no evidence of the transaction or the income that it receives for this scam. The irony is that the employees of Romo Restaurant park your car in the same lot where you could've parked your car for free, but there must be some kind of an agreement with the towing company because if your car is not parked by them, it gets towed. Parking is non existent, the valet is a few blocks away. Don't even think about parking anywhere else, the tow trucks are parked outside just waiting. Saw 3 vehicles towed in about 5 minutes. The ambiance is lively but music is too loud to actually have a conversation. Food flavors were good but it all came out cold(Party of 6). The cuts of meat are not what you would expect for the price. Sides are way expensive, people this is Paterson, 10 dollars for white rice?!?! All hype, not really worth time or price. A bit over hyped but we're all for the vibes! Food was ok. Nothing really stood out. Cocktails arrive with great presentation/smokeshow which I think was cool. The decor inside is beautiful and we love the closed patio area with hookah service. If you're looking for a place to vibe out to Latin music, smoke a bit of hookah and drink "ROMO pero feo", THIS is where you go! Also, great pricing and great service. read more

I went for my birthday and the experience wasn't the best . Drinks took long even with the restaurant not full and just opened ( first reservation of the day at noon ) . Compared with other restaurants at the same level food was priced higher . Few minutes after left the restaurant I figured that I forgor my scarf at the table , located right at the first spot next to the big tree. I tried to contact the restaurant via email , WhatsApp and phone call , no answer at all . Try to call and you can see by yourself . Most likely that we are not coming back . read more

My husband & I went to Romo on a Wednesday night. The first thing we felt was outrageous was a $10 charge for valet parking. Then, as we were shown to our table, our feet were sticking to the floor. When we inquired about why the floor was so sticky, we were told they had just cleaned the floor and the wax they used was sticky. But the server expected me to put my Coach purse on the sticky floor, as I could not hang it from the back of the bucket chair and there was no where else to put it. When we inquired about substitutions for the side dishes on our order, we were told there would be an up charge, even though the price of the items on the side dish menu were identical. While the food was very good and the service was attentive, the prices were a bit high. The last straw was the automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill for two people. All that accomplished was cheating the server out of a higher tip, as we usually tip 20% or more, but we refuse to add additional gratuity when they automatically add it to the bill. Someone should look up the definition of "gratuity". A gratuity is a voluntary money gift given as appreciation for good service, typically beyond what is required or owed, and is commonly known as a tip. It is NOT mandatory nor is it a service fee.
