The toppings are okay, service was slow, ginger tea was super sweet. The ice cream rolls tasted like they were made with artificial flavors. It was nowhere near most of the rolling ice cream places such as icicles or snowflake. They could add more toppings! read more

Exploring ice cream shops and flavors is my hobby, and Roll & Bowl is definitely one of my favorite ice cream shops not only in the Bay Area but entire country! I have had several flavors and combos here all of which have been excellent in their way. The Nutella with cookies and chocolate drizzle is a must-try for chocolate enthusiasts as it's oh so rich. The mango with mango chunks is for the fruitie who enjoys vanilla but wants a little more. The mango chunks make it extra fresh and leave you feeling on the healthier side. The strawberry is my favorite thus far as it's creamy, smooth and delectable. The mango chucks add a different type of sweetness nicely complementing the strawberry. The food here is also tasty. My college friend and I were able to dine here prior to shelter-in-place. We had the spicy chicken and rice plate that to our surprise was actually spicy, and we enjoy our spices. The menu is expansive with something for everyone's taste buds and dietary needs. I am looking forward to continue trying new flavors and dishes. The place is doing their best in keeping workers and diners safe during the pandemic. There is no dining-in but one is able to get takeout or pre-order via applications. There is hand sanitizer available at the counter. People wear face masks and are good about waiting for their orders outside the store. Overall, I have been happy with experiences at Roll & Bowl and recommend you try it for yourself. :D read more

First things first, this would've been a five star review if I had received the correct item. I ordered the spare ribs snack and the wonton soup. Instead I received the spicy wonton soup. Very frustrating. So thats the only bad. The good.... The portion sizes and quality for the price is great for these inflation days. The $13 wonton soup came with at least a dozen wontons and rice noodles. It was incredibly filling and I couldn't finish it. Next time, I will save half the soup and split it into two meals. The wontons had thin wrapping. they were savory and delicate. The spicy soup (that i didnt order, again wrong item) wasnt terrible but i couldnt taste the broth at all. All i tasted was chili oil. The spare ribs are more of a 4/5 rating. So when you first taste them, the fry coating is very plain. But the meat itself is extremely well seasoned, just not the batter. If these were even season with just salt and pepper on the outside, theyd be great. Eat them very carefully though, the bones are small, plentiful, and hard to see. Im excited to try more from this place. read more

AMAZING DURIAN ROLLS ICE CREAM!!! Literally the best durian ice cream and best rolls ice cream I've ever had. The durian flavor is very prominent which is why it's so amazing. I hate when you can barely taste the delicious flavor that is durian. The ice cream was also very thick & creamy, everything you'd want in an ice cream (I got the regular durian ice cream, but saw they also have vegan coconut based durian ice cream). It's a bit pricey at $10 for the durian flavor but totally worth every penny. The regular flavors are $8. For that price, you also get unlimited toppings and sauces. To pair with my durian flavor, I chose graham crackers, boba, bananas & a drizzle of condensed milk. It tasted amazing together. My favorite was the graham crackers and condensed milk with it, might just get that next time. Overall they have a good variety of options in terms of ice cream flavors, vegan / gluten free options, toppings & sauces. They also sell savory comfort snacks / food items. The store itself is cute & little. I can't speak about the seating situation because I went during COVID. As for the parking situation, there is nearby residential street parking. In closing, I give this place HANDS DOWN 10/10 for their durian ice cream. You have to try it if you love durian. Would definitely come back again & again! read more

The food here is amazing! I have returned three times and highly recommend the wonton soup and Thai curry. The chef (who also works the register) simmers the broth for 24 hours and makes the wonton filling by hand. These two dishes have been very soothing when my stomach is upset. Hidden secret just off Park Street! Very cute decor as well! read more

Ordered delivery tonight. Haven't ordered in a while and decided to try something new. Was very disappointing. I hate to disparage a local place but I won't be ordering again after tonight. Decided to try the spicy chicken. (Pretty much general chicken) I will say it DID arrive hot. Very hot. But the chicken was so crazy over sauced that it was super soggy. Sooooo much sauce. I'm very sorry to say it was just not good. Had potential but just was not well executed. Just tasted greasy and sweet and not spicy. Very disappointed. The fried tofu I ordered was really good and perfectly fried. Though the dipping sauce it came with was pretty much just soy sauce and terrible. read more

This place is NOT GOOD , the food is sub par and the server got everything wrong she put our food in togo boxes when we were dining in then charged us $1.87 dine in tax. I sent my daughter up to get her ice cream with some money (the ice cream was awesome) and she charged her for the 2 sodas we ordered at the table (she's 10 years old) WHO DOES THAT? I'm just saying we paid $50 for our food it's not like we're gonna run out on a $2 Diet Coke. Ice cream good , food and service bad read more

We saw Roll & Bowl on our way to lunch last weekend, so decided to come here afterwards for dessert. The restaurant is pretty cozy with a few tables on one side and a waiting area on the opposite side where you can watch them roll your ice cream. Large photos of the different ice cream flavors are on the wall to help you decide what you want, but you can also grab a menu when you walk in and fill it out. If you want something savory, they also have rice dishes and noodles. But what I loved was that you could order dairy-free coconut based ice cream! Staff members are friendly and helpful, especially if it's your first time ordering. Be prepared to wait a while for your ice cream, especially if they're busy, because making it fresh takes time. It's pretty neat to watch them do this though. Street or meter parking is your best choice as the small lot will fill up quickly. read more

I got the Ube rolled ice cream with graham crackers, Oreo crackers, and strawberry toppings. It was delicious and did not disappoint! The ice cream was smooth and creamy with a distinct ube flavor, which I appreciated! Regarding the toppings -- Strawberries are not in season right now, so I wouldn't recommend strawberries as a topping, but the Oreo and graham cracker toppings gave a nice crunch! I was sad that they didn't have mochi topping, but the selection that they had was sufficient. They also have non-dairy options made with coconut milk, which was also very refreshing and smooth! I would definitely recommend trying the dairy-free option as well! FYI - $15 minimum charge for credit card! Have cash handy if you only intend to get ice cream! read more

My wife, sister-in-law and I came to this shop for dinner and we enjoyed this place a lot more than expected. Our expectations coming into this place were pretty low, but as we started going over the menu, we noticed that all the items were decently priced. The ice cream options are plentiful even though you can only choose one and this is one of the few places that I've seen in Cali that actually serve durian ice cream. We ordered the steak rice bowl, garlic noodles with shrimp and a cold grass jelly for our first course. All the items were delicious and the cold grass jelly dessert tastes better than what you would get at meet fresh. For ice cream, we got purple yam (taro) and loaded on as many toppings as we could as you can get unlimited toppings. Parking for this place isn't so good as it's along a strip. The better chance is to maybe walk from the parking garage or try and park in the residential areas. Once you are able to enjoy this place though, you'll definitely have a great experience! read more

What a cute little gem with discrete store front! Simple but truly delicious rice/noodle plates and few appetizers, desserts BUT an outstanding ROLLED icecream choices served up in Pinkberry way, sooo good! We stopped by after volleyball game nearby and grabbed a quick dinner here. Then ordered rolled icecream to finish it off. The mango icecream was incredible, as if we were eating fresh mango. The diary free icecream was just as good. I did not feel being short changed just because it was diary free. The young family and people working there weso nice. We left very happy. By rolling the icecream, the texture changed. It is so creamy. Their toppings also set them apart from Pink berry: they cut fresh mango, strawberry while preparing it for you. So it taste super fresh and tasty. I can see how popular it can get if they would open a store in UC Berkeley neighborhood, like on Telegraph near Dwight, where there are too many bobs, ramen now or College Avenue. read more

Pretty good rolled ice cream, but my ice cream wasn't exactly rolled because it was melted by the time it got to me. I dined in, and when I arrived there was nobody there. Somehow the people who came a good five minutes after me, got all their food first (which included fried chicken and a rolled ice cream). By the time my ice cream was ready, it was melted and didn't look rolled at all.... That aside, the roasted almond was good, and there were lots of almond chunks. And it was creamy, a little too sweet towards the end tho. The people working there did not seem happy or efficient... FYI: rolled ice cream you write down your order and you can get unlimited toppings. $7.50 plus tax is pretty expensive, but you get a pretty large serving size read more

Brand new super cool and trendy eatery. The place has a wood finish look which created such a nice homey ambiance. They specialized in poke and ROLLED ice cream. I tried their coffee match and Oreo rolled ice cream and not only was the presentation nice but the taste also. The service was quick and friendly. I talked to the 2 people actually doing the rolled ice cream, I think named Sarah and Eric? Such funny interesting people. I put on a conversation while making the dessert and I felt so uwu. The boss named Jayde also took turn making some ice cream when Eric went to add toppings to the ice cream. It showed me how much they cared about the customers because they wanted to quickly get out the orders in a timely fashion. The boss was nice and friendly. Can't wait to come back again. :) read more

they have friendly customer service and pretty decent ice cream! i got the roasted peanut ice cream roll + graham cracker, roasted peanuts, strawberry + condensed milk drizzle. i haven't seen the peanut flavor ice cream available anywhere else, so there's a good variety of ice cream options here. the portion size was filling enough as an after dinner dessert, and they also let you have unlimited toppings! if it's your first time you can check in on yelp for 25% off which makes it around $5. something to note is there's a $15 minimum for credit cards though. read more

I was craving a sweet treat and this place HIT THE SPOT! I got the fruity pebbles with strawberry ice cream topped with boba, corn flakes, strawberries, and condensed milk and it was OTHERWORLDLY! It was perfect, like dangerously good. The ice cream was freshly made and really rich and creamy. My niece and nephew also really enjoyed theirs as well. I'll def be back! read more

Really an amazing food/service/price. This is a small and I believe fairly new business. They have only about 7 tables. The decor is very simple but somehow works. They have limited menu but really an amazing food. The vegan tofu bowl was delicious. One of the best fried tofu I have tried in a long time. They also have vegan ice cream roll. It is coconut based and made to order. Tasted great! I highly recommend this place but I do have 2 suggestions: 1) why not offer all flavors as vegan ice cream? The vegan flavors were limited. 2) The fried pot stickers were made with meat. It would be great if they would offer vegetarian ones as well. Service is amazing. read more

We were in the area after a beach day and my son was craving icicles and we found this place on yelp and gave it a go. Not at all a good experience. Not friendly customer service whatsoever & over priced (they charge a 15% fee if you'd like to dine in) oddly. We were still excited to try their ice cream ( we got oreo ) but were also disappointed with that. It tasted like literal milk. Did not satisfy the craving. Alameda has so many better options, I wish I would've gone with. I gave two stars because ordering was easy with a erasable pen and menu to mark your choice. read more

Are you looking for yummy ice cream while in quarantine? You've come to the right Yelp page. They are open for take out and delivery. I ordered delivery from them the other day and they made sure to add ice to the bottom of my bag so the ice cream wouldn't melt. Clutch. On Saturday when I went in person for ice cream they had hand sanitizer on deck. The ice cream itself is soooo good. They have tons of different topping offerings including boba! For the event, we had reserved labels on our tables. The waiter took drink orders, then food orders. I came late and requested to be the last one to place a food and drink order because I did not want to hold the others up. The waiter forgot about me. He never returned. Fortunately, a waitress was bringing something over to a table buddy of mine and I was able to place my order with her. However, I ordered 2 drinks. One was supposed to come immediately after ordering and the other with my food. The waitress said she was going to try to plan the one with my food so it came out together. She forgot about my 1st drink until reminded almost 20 mins later. I ordered my food which was $17.50 sliders with a substitute of fries $2.. and add bacon $2. When my food came, it came with some sort of greens (Arugula salad..I think) and a side of fries. I don't understand why I got salad because I substituted it for fries. My fries came out first, which made no sense because I ordered my food together. However, upon tasting the fries.. they were cold in some parts..smh. I sent them back for hot fries. The sliders seemed overcooked because they were dry. I'm used to sliders being juicy and soft. My sliders were hard...smh. I did not bother to send them back because I was with many people and I really did not feel like going through the motions tonight..as I normally would have of my food order is just wrong. When the bill came, I noticed that they charged me $9 for a large fries. If it was only +2 to substitute... why did I get charge that? I went on and paid it without complaints. There were at least 4 ppl who ordered food before me and they still did not get their food and it was like an hour passing. I had 2 glasses of wine (Malbec & Blanc). Both were good. I loved the fact that they had karaoke. However, I disliked the fact that people who had gone once still went a 2nd time although there were plenty of people who still had not gone a 1st time. I think this place is chill. They need to do better with accomodating larger parties in both a timely manner and effectively ensuring food is correct, hot and cooked to perfection. I think they probably do best with a table of 4 or 5 ppl. Lastly, it was super hot in here. Yes there are ceiling fans. However, it seems that they have no central air whatsoever. That's ridiculous. Oh BTW.. no waiter ever came back to our table to ask if we wanted to order anything more. They also did not come over to ask if the food was good either. Our finshed plates say in front of us from the time we got it until almost 11pm. I would say that my table received food by 8:30ish.

The friendly server was again apologetic and said they would check on it. A minute later they came out with a box of fries and apologized they they had been forgotten about in the kitchen.
