    Saba Bento Box

I'm a big fan of Yojimbo, I've been dining here and at the original location on Park Street since 2015. This new location has a unique ambiance, there's Studio Ghibli films playing on the TVs, Studio Ghibli characters featured in the wall artwork & decoration, vintage decorations. There's also an artwork gallery upstairs to walk around after a meal. The food here is consistent and decent, I wouldn't say it's anything special but I like the ambiance and there's a decent variety of entrees. There's bento boxes, ramen, sushi, donburi, etc. However, in my opinion, the entrees are quite pricey. Bento Box (3/5) - Decent portion size. Saba was a bit dry. Chicken Donburi (3/5) - This was good, the ratio of rice is high. Sushi Rolls (5/5) - Delicious, have only had good rolls here!

No private parking, street parking only Parked across the street, not much difficulty Beautiful decor, amazing painting, so many OG characters that I miss and love I wish I have the space in my house to buy these painting, if they even sell these Free house salad, simple clean and good palate cleanser for the main dish Spicy pork ramen does not resemble Japanese style broth but still very flavorful with wonderful toppings Oyako Don, chicken and egg, is so good Service is friendly quick and helpful Free house salad and free puffs as post snacks, win win

Came here for a dinner with my friend since we were craving sushi. The art inside is amazing. We got miso soup, fried gyoza, Red Dragon roll, Yojimbo roll. I enjoyed the red dragon roll even though it was a bit pricy for both rolls.

Just ate here for lunch on a warm April Wednesday while I waited for my tire to get replaced a couple of blocks away. I've heard a lot about Yojimbo from my students, and there is typically always a line, so I was excited to try it. Maybe I should've tried the original/ other location for the dining experience my students have described? Location: conveniently located with lots of nearby parking options. The restaurant is massive! There were a few other solo diners. The decor is really nice. Lots of plants, beautiful artwork, figurines and model cars, and even two different TVs showing two different anime shows. Soothing music was playing! The bathroom was nice and clean and offered a touch-free soap dispenser. Menu: Weirdly they just had one sashimi appetizer option for $28.95 that was chef's choice and it didn't mention how many pieces. I wanted to get sake sashimi, but could only order sake nigiri. There wasn't a ton of versatility: mostly shrimp, tempura, salmon, tuna, eel, California roll, which was disappointing. They do not serve beer, wine, or liquor. Food: I started with the Yojimbo roll (bbq eel over spider roll) for $17.95. It came with a salad with peanut dressing. Both the salad and the roll were good, though the salad could've used a little less dressing. Next, I ordered the hamachi nigiri and sake nigiri ($7.95 each for two pieces of each type of nigiri). The rice was a little hard and kind of fell apart. I also ordered a miso soup $1.95. They ended the meal with a complimentary matcha cream doughnut -- which was a really nice touch. TL;DR: beautiful location, but the menu could use more options and the food could've been better at the price point.

I remember this sushi spot being better than what I had over the weekend. I ordered the Chirashi and chicken katsu bento to share with my daughter and cousin. The bento itself was very large portion but disappointed that it didn't include variety of other sides like vegetable tempura, or a California roll, it literally was rice, chicken, lettuce (salad that wasn't premixed with dressing- dressing was on the side), and a side of miso soup. The portion for the rice and chicken was very generous about enough for 3! So kudos to the portion, however the chicken itself was plain. The batter nor the chicken tasted season. The chirashi came on a bed of rice and lettuce which I thought was weird considering that most places just do rice below the fish cuts. The amount of fish you get for the price is reasonable. Overall, I would not come back again. My last experience was a lot better but I can't remember what dish I ordered that made me want to come back one day.

First of all, the theme is so adorable. So much great art to look at all around. The tv was behind me but the kids said there was some sort of anime playing that they liked. We ordered our food, 4 rolls, gyoza, a bowl of miso and katsu curry. The gyoza came out piping hot. I would have liked it if the miso came out at the same time as the gyoza, but it came out at the same time as the rest of the food. Also, they didn't tell me that a bowl of miso came with the curry. Which would have been nice to know. Luckily, we had enough people at the table where someone else was willing and able to eat the second bowl. Definitely ordered too much food, couldn't even eat the curry. But I ate it for lunch the next day and it was just as good.

Came on a Saturday night around 5pm for dinner and there was no wait and pretty empty. It got more busy as we were leaving. We haven't been to yojimbo since their first location which was smaller so we were excited to try this location! Inside is spacious and love that the walls were filled with artwork. We didn't go up to the gallery so we will have to come back for that. We ordered the BYO Bento and everything was delicious! We wish the rice was cooked in a way that was more sticky, ours kept falling apart that I had to use a spoon to eat it, but the taste was fine. The California roll was yummy. And our teriyaki proteins were both delicious, I'd probably order the chicken next time because it came with more protein compared to the salmon. Service was perfect. Had multiple workers come up to us to order, refill our water and overall just check in. They even gas us some complimentary cream puffs which were SO GOOD. We're going to have to order some of those next time. Would recommend this place for lunch or dinner and we can't wait to come back if we're craving sushi.

Again, I agree with the other Yelp reviews that this place is not as good as the original. But my daughter did not want to go there as this location is more "comfortable." Quality/Quantity - Salad - 3 complimentary salads, thank you. Mainly head lettuce with a slice of tomato. Miso Soup - Came with my Chirashi Donburi. My daughter drank this and she said it was okay. Takoyaki - This was just okay. Good portions. Chirashi Donburi - The fish cuts were not "normal." Almost "chunk" like. And the rice to fish ratio was way off, with not enough rice. I had to eat some of my wife's rice which she did not touch. Lastly, there was way too much head lettuce. Really threw the dish off. I had to pick out the lettuce in the middle of the meal as I just could not eat any more. Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box - Generous portions. Well, another head lettuce salad. My wife, who actually likes salads, could NOT eat any more lettuce also. 4 slices of salmon. 49'ers Roll - This looked so much better on the menu. And it was just okay. And we still order this every time we come, lol. The desserts looked really good. Too bad we were so full from eating all that lettuce that there was no more room for dessert. Atmosphere - Love the art and decor. The owner is so talented. Good size location, probably 4 times larger than the original. 2 floors, but upstairs is rarely open, or maybe just for private parties...? Indoor and outdoor seating. Clean bathrooms. Surprised they closed the bar. The bar was so popular when this place was American Oak. Whisky bar! I miss them. Service - Hit and miss today. Just drove back from Eureka at around 4:30pm ish and we were hungry. We tried to support the new Thai restaurant across the street, but as luck has it, they are closed from 4-5pm... Price - $88, my daughter paid, thank you. Owner Comments - Congrats on your success at this new location since 2022 and to the two brothers (and parents).

Our favorite sushi in the bay! This spot always has the best service, vibes, and of course food. 10/10 recommend

Delicious! The food came out very fast and the service was wonderful. Everyone was kind and the ambiance made it even better!

Jax and I checked at Yojimbo sushi and wow what a dream place for me. Heather referred me to it and it's like my dream restaurant. Lots of action figures framed and displayed with lights. Huge art work with manga brush strokes of Akira, 47 Ronin, Studio Ghibli films, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z. The food was fantastic and the service was amazing. 10/10

Came here for my birthday dinner (12/13/23) and was not disappointed. I hadn't yet been to this new location and had only been to their original spot down on Park St., so I was excited to check out their new place. Definitely a significantly larger space with way more room and higher ceilings (though I do really enjoy the hole-in-the-wall vibes of the original spot). Better for groups (and we were a group of five this night). Our waitress was very nice and the food came out pretty fast. There was some minor confusion/a mixup over a dish my dad ordered, which they rectified immediately without issue. I got my usual, the spicy miso gyoza ramen, and it was so delicious. I also got a couple pieces of nigiri that were very fresh. We hadn't been to Yojimbo for a few years, so we were all pretty impressed by how generous they are with their portions and especially for the price. We're all so used to getting little food for our money in the Bay Area these days that we were happily surprised by how full we all were at the end of the meal. Just the amount of teriyaki chicken my brother got in his bento was shocking. Now I know that I can go to either Yojimbo location and get a great meal. Will definitely keep supporting both.

This place is huge compared to the other one on Park St. They even have one of those robot waiters. We've dined here several time and each time is just ok. We mainly come here for the curry w/ fish katsu. It's really good and they give you a huge portion. I ordered the salmon teriyaki this time. They first served us a complementary bowl of salad. Which I thought was the salad that came with/ my order. But when our dishes came half of my bento box was filled with iceberg lettuce which I do not love, btw. I didn't really touch the salad because I already had a serving of salad. The salmon was overcooked and dry, the teriyaki sauce was ok. It filled me up, but it wasn't really satisfying. I had some of the curry and I really love that dish. It's the best thing on the menu. We've ordered their veggie ramen in the past, but it didn't have much vegetables. The bowl was filled with tons, (like a lot!) of bean sprouts and green onions. The flavor was ok, but wish it had more veggies. I've also ordered the spider roll because I love soft-shell crabs, but sadly it only contained mini crab legs and it didn't have much flavor. Where's the soft shell crab? I haven't had a good spider roll here in Alameda. The ambience is nice, plenty of room for large groups, the wait staff are friendly and it has the same anime decor as the original restaurant. I just wish they served alcohol.

In the short time since my…read morefirst review, this place seems to have changed ownership, given the significant change in ambiance and decor (and good luck "grand opening" plant at the entrance). I don't understand why the owners have put a Guan Yu shrine near the ordering tablets, which is neither Japanese nor has any connection to what was at least once a JR-themed restaurant. The restaurant wasn't playing the station chimes or showing the station stops on the TVs when we were there, but instead it was totally silent inside while the TVs played random Japanese programming. There are new fan art canvases based on various animes hung on the walls, but again, they have nothing to do with the former theme of the restaurant, and everything combined just broke the immersion of what was once an incredibly unique, creative experience. I was really disappointed, especially since I brought my cousin here to try the ramen for the first time, which is at least still as delicious as it used to be. But they got his order wrong, both the food and the drink, which made for a poor impression (and also leaves one wondering how you get help for an issue like that at a place that's totally contactless and devoid of human interaction). It was good while it lasted, and while the ramen is great (went with the black garlic, added spice, and got the thick noodles), I'm not sure I'd make another trip all the way over here when half the allure is now gone. Sorry, Ramen Station, but I think my fascination with your restaurant is over.

Ramen Station is hands down one of the best ramen spots in the Bay Area. What really sets it apart…read moreis the fully contactless experience, which is both efficient and fun. Walking in feels like stepping into a Japanese train station--bright colors, bold art on the walls, and TVs playing scenic views from a Japanese train ride. Below the screens are self-ordering kiosks where you customize everything yourself. My go-to order every time: Spicy Tan Tan Ramen -- 10/10. The broth is rich, creamy, and perfectly spicy with a sesame-infused base. It comes with ground pork, seaweed, green scallions, corn, and woodear mushrooms. I usually substitute the woodear mushrooms for shiitake mushrooms, add pickled pink ginger, ask for light salt, and choose skinny noodles. I love that you can customize toppings and noodle thickness exactly how you want. Once you pay, a receipt prints with your number. You wait until your number is called over the radio--when it happens, a train bell rings, and your number flashes above the serving window like you're boarding a train. Such a cool touch. Portions are generous, flavors are always bold, and the ramen is consistently packed and satisfying. If you're taking it to go, they offer solid packaging options so you can reheat everything properly at home. Tip: skip the paper bags--they don't hold up well. Get the box and handle with care. I come here often, and even after trying other ramen spots, nothing compares. Ramen Station is a true 5-star, contactless ramen experience. Highly recommend.

I liked the layout; the seating kind of wraps around the open kitchen, like we're all spectators in a delicious production. It's a nice design that allows you to feel the energy without being jammed up. Good space for a group dinner. I took the plunge and ordered the Oxtail Ramen (sweet potato, garlic chives, sesame, shio chicken broth). Now, I love oxtail, and I love ramen. This should've been the culinary equivalent of watching an undefeated season. The Verdict? It was... fine. You ever eat something that's technically correct--the spices are there, the texture is fine--but it just doesn't hit that emotional frequency? That was this bowl. The oxtail was tender, and the sweet potato was an interesting, earthy addition. The shio chicken broth was savory, but it frankly lacked that deep, soulful complexity, that umami punch that makes you stop mid-slurp and appreciate the moment. It wasn't bad, just not inspired. If this bowl was a term paper, it would get a competent 'C'--meets the requirements, but nowhere near the Dean's List. If you're in the area and need a decent, perfectly acceptable bowl of hot soup and a chill environment, Itani will do the job. But if you're looking for that transcendent, life-affirming ramen experience, you might want to adjust your GPS. I'm giving it a 3 out of 5 stars--it passed, but I'm not running back for seconds.

The kid was so cute, and always playing in the back near the restroom. I am not sure of their business model. I am led to believe they are an extended family business...? And that they have 5-7 locations. Here are some of their other locations and the year they opened: Fairfield 2006. Vallejo 2009. Martinez 2012. We discovered this place in Albany (opened in 2016), when we were both looking at the same location for real estate. Pinole 2025. Quality/Quantity - Wow, it has been too long since I have been here. And this was a last second change from my long term friends. Good and fresh. Today I got the Deluxe Sushi Special - So fresh. But as a light eater, I was still hungry after eating my dinner, but it did look like it was a decent portion. Chirashi - Wow, this looked so good. Also, it's fresh. I will get this next time. My guest was only able to eat half of her dinner. But this also came with a salad and soup. And for only $3 more, this was the better choice of the two. Atmosphere - Good and clean. Small local business. One clean large unisex restroom. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm or 9:30pm; see website for specifics. Service - Quick and friendly. The owners (Kevin since 2013) were not here today. The restrooms are clean and organized. You have to respect an owner that snakes their own plumbing (see picture)! Price - Reasonable, especially for dinner. Owner Suggestion - I remember you were so proud of your 4+ star yelp ratings when you first opened. You are still well respected in the community and am sure you will get back to your 4+ star ratings again.

One Saturday afternoon I was in the area and I decided to give them a try. At sushi places I like to order a Chirashi, which is mixed raw fish/sashimi over seasoned sushi rice. It came with a soup and salad. The staff brought it out in a reasonable amount of time. The Chirashi was good, the fish was fresh and it was presented well. It was a reasonable price of sushi, I would be suspicious about super cheap sushi and especially raw fish. I had it with a Sapporo beer which really hit the spot. There were people ordering takeout and there was seating inside. I dined in. There are lot of sushi restaurants in the area, but since I already come here when taking my dogs to the vet, maybe I'll work a lunch break into my plans.
