The sushi was fresh and by no means did they skimp out on fish. My son and I shared a lunch salmon box featuring 4 salmon nigiri, 4 pieces of salmon roll and 3-4 pieces of salmon sashimi and it was about $18-$20 which is fine, although this spot is more of a kiosk with the boxes in a refrigerator case vs made fresh to order. It's located in the Alameda marketplace, so you order and then you either take it to go, or you can find a table/seat at the public seating the other restaurants share, and there is a few tables outside. Service wasn't necessarily with a smile, but again, quick, sufficient and the fish was good. While I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it, if you're jonesing for sushi and need to pick up some goods at this food hall style spot, it works.

Located inside a plaza with lots of other restaurants, sushi king is next to green and grains. Service is nice and friendly. The ambiance is a little kiosk with bar seating. More so a grab and go spot. I got the unagi roll and California roll and it was fresh and fulfilled my appetite.

It's honestly not bad for what it is. I don't ever come here because it's inside a supermarket next to a couple of other places to eat. Barely any parking or places to sit. But if you need a quick take out spot, this is not bad. They have sushi sitting out in their fridge you can pick from right away if you're in a rush. I haven't tried those yet and to be honest, it doesnt matter where I'm at, I don't think I'd ever pick sushi from a fridge like that. They also have a menu you can look at and order from, those they make on the spot. I saw a mango roll on the menu and was instantly a sucker for it. The other roll I got was an A's roll. I finished both rolls and was perfectly full from it so it was average sized in terms of potions The rolls came out pretty fast and was average. If you're ever in need of a quick sushi fix and in a rush, this is a good spot. You can even go grocery shopping after.

Still my favorite, casual, takeout sushi spot after at least 20 years. The quality of sushi and friendliness of the staff keeps me coming back. Not sure why the ratings are so low, but whatever. More sushi for me then! Our family loves Sushi King!

We have been coming here for 10+ years. They are always friendly. Quality of the food is excellent and the prices are good. It is very casual -- order to go or sit directly at the sushi bar or the eating area for the Marketplace.

Good sushi bowl. Half rice, half greens underneath. Comes with good avocado, ginger, seaweed salad, marinaded salmon & ahi tuna. Good cuts of fish and healthy portion. Would recommend as a quick, yummy and cute location surrounded by other vendors.

Sushi was edible but rather flavorless and quantity of fish was small. You get what you pay for.

We were seated about an hour later, but once we got in, the service was quick and efficient. We ordered a mix of items to share: * Enoki chips - absolutely addicting. Perfectly crispy with a great crunch, and the umami spice on the side took them to another level. * Chicken karaage - tasty overall, but the glaze was poured over everything. I would've preferred it on the side to keep the texture crisp. * Kani hand roll - super fresh and flavorful; didn't even need soy sauce. * Ikura & hotate hand roll - generous portion and very fresh, again no soy needed. * Garlic Knockout ramen - lives up to the name. Rich, deeply garlicky broth that was bold and delicious. * Signature smoked toripaitan ramen - flavorful without being overly heavy (which I prefer). The chashu was tender and the noodles tasted fresh. I was blown away by the food, I haven't had ramen this good in a long time. The restaurant clearly runs efficiently, turning tables quickly despite the wait. I'll definitely be back

Then we had the brotherhood with Hamachi, also delicious. We couldn't decide which we liked more, both were really flavorful, compact and great on their own and with wasabi, soy sauce and ginger. Lastly, we got some Miso soups, which were some of the freshest tasting Miso soups I have ever had. Everyone was very helpful, friendly, checked in with us and chatted with us when it wasn't busy. People around us were having a good time and the vibe was relaxed. Fun and delicious…read more Vietnamese food is at the top when it comes to bright and refreshing bites, and Bacogai embodies that with a modern atmosphere as well as some tasty dishes. The duck salad was a hit. Citrus, some fish sauce. A great way to open up your appetite. The wings also had a bit of fish sauce funkiness on their glaze, and were juicy and crispy. The shaking beef with the with the rice noodles and lettuce was also a crowd-pleaser. The beef was tender and flavorful. We tried two hot pot flavors: sweet and sour and the pork bone broth. I preferred the sweet and sour one with the fish, prawns, and lots of interesting veggies like okra and the bac-ha which was fanstastic at soaking up the broth. I found the pork one a bit gamey, and the pork being already in the hot-pot was not super tender. Service was friendly and generally attentive. Definitely worth checking out for a date or a group dinner.

I've tried both the Oxtail/beef and pork hotpot, both were really good, I like the pork a little better because I'm a huge tonkotsu ramen fan, and the broth reminded me of that a lot. The beef luc lac, which is sort of like shaking beef over vermicelli and lettuce is also excellent. They now charge extra for broth refills, which they did not the first time I dined here, around a year or so ago. Overall, this is a nice addition to Alameda's dining options and I hope they stick around!

It's better this way. Try it. Saturday was unusual in that they were short staffed and almost at capacity. The food and service did not suffer. I'm not so sure I'd be that pleasant if I had to serve the entire restaurant on my own. To add to the vibe, I dropped the soy sauce container. Fortunately, me and my light pink shirt were the only casualties, but I made a huge mess. Napkins were thrown my way by other customers. I cleaned the table and floor. Yes, I really went for it. Most of the soy sauce was on me and my shoes. The server apologized she didn't completely wipe up my mess. No worries. It was my fault. Hashi Gawa has become a fave for Dad and I. First time trying this spot . Dine in review let's get into it !…read more Me and babe have been on a sushi kick lately since coming back from Japan. He found this place so we went to give it a try. It's in a plaza so there's parking . When you walk in it's a cute store front . Modern but cozy . Customer service was nice and fun . Our waitress was very helpful . Oysters on the half shell were fresh. Yall know that's my favorite and I'll never tell no lies ! The sauce they put on it was a nice touch and not overbearing the fresh oyster taste ! Tempura has a nice crispy batter and the prawns were plump not skimpy or chewy . I also got the Santa Barbara hand roll because I really wanted uni but they don't sell uni as an appetizer. The hand roll itself was good nice flavor loved the salmon eggs , just wish there was more uni ( probably because that's what I really wanted lol I'm being honest okay ). But the star of the show for me was the SPICY LION KING ROLL . I've had plenty of lion king rolls throughout the years but never had a spicy one and it was bomb . I think what makes it spicy is the sauce they use . Wasn't too hot just an extra little kick to everything going on . We were sitting right next to the sushi makers and they overheard us talking about how good it was and they loved our vibe . We chatted and got to a point they gave us a free dessert which was so good ! I forgot the name but it was like a soft fluffy pancake filled with cold cream like vanilla ice cream ! I'd definitely give them a try and would come again .
