Pros: very inexpensive. Good service, nice folks. Small casual cafe near Trader Joe's. Good Greek salad. Good spiced yogurt. Skewers available individually. Cons: Lamb kebab was salty all the way through. Wrap tasted like an indifferent tortilla and gyro meat was scant, filling was mostly romaine with little yogurt so it was very dry. Bottled and canned juices are available in a cooler beside the cash register. Unfortunately, just before we left we used Rojbas' very tiny bathroom, which is just past the large kitchen and prep area. The sight of numerous rat feces on the bathroom floor was a DEFINITE turn-off for me. We won't be returning here. read more

Awesome Mediterranean spot! Came here with one of my bestfriends, and we both enjoyed it. I ordered the combo gyro plate, and my girlfriend ordered a falafel wrap. The gyro plate was sooo good along with the hummus. Parking wasn't too bad. We both parked around the corner and there were no parking meters, but it was 1-2hr parking. I never knew this heaven existed in berkeley. I have literally walked past this place hundreds of times. First off, the staff is courteous. They have a bread (freshest ever) served with dips and salsa as a complimentary appetizer. The food is delicious, chicken and vegetarian options are mind blowing. We ordered a bunch of dishes. Gyros were ok flavor. Lamb Kabobs were disappointing, overcooked and dry. Flavor tasted off like it was old meat. Chicken kabobs were better.SMALL portions for the high prices. I don't want a little meat with a bunch of rice for $20! Everything was just ok. Only thing that was really good was babaganoush. Fresh and smoky flavor. Even the flat bread was not good, pasty and dry. How do you screw that up? Will not be ordering from there again. The food made me sick. I came around closing time and the chicken tasted weird and gave me food poisoning. I know it was this food because it was the only food I ate. I called the restaurant to let them know the food made me sick and they gaslit me and said it wasn't their food and that no one else had complained that they had gotten sick and maybe I ate something else that was bad. The food and service here is exceptional! I highly recommend you pay this shop a visit! I had the beef and lamb gyro plate, which had really tender meat, super fluffy rice, freshly toasted pita, and high quality veggies. Overall, the meal was delicious and well worth it! The service is some of the best I have had a casual dining restaurant! The cashier greeted me enthusiastically as soon as I entered and even specifically pointed out a freshly cleaned table for me to sit at after I had ordered at the counter. Though I paid at the counter and they gave me a number, they still came by to set me up with water and utensils (though I was right next to the water station, how nice of them!) Furthermore, the shop is also incredibly clean and well-maintained! What makes their service truly amazing though is that the owner and the staff are so kind and willing to help the community. While I was seated an older man from the street came to the doorway and the owner greeted him warmly and asked if he was hungry. After getting confirmation from the man and making sure what the man wanted in his meal, the owner called out for the chef to make a wrap for him. The large wrap was quickly made along with all the other customer's food and was packed in foil and a to-go bag for the man at the doorway to take with him. The owner kindly went outside to deliver the food and have a quick chat with the hungry man. Having just eaten there for 30 minutes I saw as each person that came to the door was treated kindly and with respect no matter if they were a paying customer at the time or not. I ordered the kofta wrap today for lunch and it was so delicious! A little overstuffed with greens, but the meat was tender and so flavorful. I really, really loved the customer service here today though. The cashier was really friendly and chatted with me while I waited, and then included some free (and wonderful) baklava with my to-go order. I unfortunately had to go in during lunch rush to place the order, and they were really nice about it even though they were very busy - they gave me some tea and had me wait a few minutes while they served lunch customers, and then gave me their full attention to help put together an order that would accommodate our budget. When I came to pick it up a few days later, I mentioned I was going to call a Lyft and the cook actually offered to drive me over to campus! I was really impressed with how genuinely kind they were. Will definitely come back! What we got: - mixed grill with rice and salad: I don't eat meat but it looked delicious! The rice is good pilav-style rice, a little buttery instead of just plain. Salad is pretty standard, but came perfectly dressed. - falafel balls: I don't think the falafel on its own is anything to write home about, but it's good with the cacik/mast-o-sir and other mezze spreads. From other visits, I also recommend the King falafel wrap with eggplant. - mezze platter: good babaganoush, great hummus and ezme, tabbouleh is perfect. I didn't get to try the dolma. Came with plenty of pita. - baklava: I'm not normally much of a baklava person but this baklava was SO good. Fresh and flaky and not overwhelmingly syrupy. Just went in here with my girlfriend, they were about closed but hadn't yet turned the sign... We asked if we could still get something. They said yeah but only a couple of items as a lot was put away already. Luckily we wanted the tabouleh salad and some dolmas which they still had. I am eating it right now back at home and it's delicious. The pita bread is warm and soft, the dolmas are great - tangy with good flavor and rice with just the right texture. They even threw in a free baklava, which we were really excited to see in the bag when we got home. I'm guessing they noticed my girlfriend's birthday tiara and just went the extra mile unprompted. Great casual spot with delicious food. Being so near the college I was iffy about the quality but ended up being pleasantly surprised. At first I was slightly put off by the prices, but they're well worth it. I ordered a chicken kebab wrap, the chicken was well flavored and succulent. My friend ordered the falafel plate which came with 3 tabouli salads, the red one was so light a delicious; very visually appealing. We got spanakopita which was average, but I was delighted that they didn't under bake it like most places. The service was polite and quick. Added bonus is the complementary tea. I'll definitely be back. Also if you love Zaytoon in Albany you should consider Rojbas. They're is on par with flavor any quality without the headache of crowds and grumpy wait staff. read more

Best place around the area and we've tried several. My son and I have become frequent visitors here. If it's your first time you can start with the beef and lamb wrap and try other dishes from there. I promise it'll hit the spot. We just went again yesterday and I tried the grilled meat combo plate with rice, salad, hot pita bread, tahini and hummus. It was so good, probably best meal I've had in a long time! My son started eating off my plate and loved it too. It's quite informal and casual. You can go shopping at Trader Joe's and walk across.
