Best place around the area and we've tried several. My son and I have become frequent visitors here. If it's your first time you can start with the beef and lamb wrap and try other dishes from there. I promise it'll hit the spot. We just went again yesterday and I tried the grilled meat combo plate with rice, salad, hot pita bread, tahini and hummus. It was so good, probably best meal I've had in a long time! My son started eating off my plate and loved it too. It's quite informal and casual. You can go shopping at Trader Joe's and walk across. The first time we ordered their king falafel wrap was delicious so we returned a few weeks later. However, the same king falafel appeared to be just a re-heated wrap and the sauce tasted off. It was in between lunch and dinner hours (around 4:00pm) so not sure if these were left overs they served us. But very disappointing. I tried this place for the first time as a result of a Yelp new restaurant notification, and because it is convenient for take out on my way home from my Thursday evening work shift. Only got the beef/lamb gyro, which is exactly as described by Victor G. With the exception that even for this type of gyro, which tends to be salty, I found the meat exceptionally salty, and not particularly flavorful. Otherwise, the ingredients seemed fresh and properly wrapped for balance. And, as VG says, the hot sauce I requested inside added a nice, pretty spicy kick. (About $8). And yes, I was invited to sit by the charming young waitress and served a nice small glass of tea, which is a sweet perk. This was about 8:15 on a weeknight and the place was almost full of folks dining in and apparently enjoying the plate meals, which looked and smelled good (about $12). It's a small, not unpleasant dinerish environment. If I lived in the neighborhood, I might dine in, but not otherwise. I know this place has received some uneven reviews, but tonight it seemed pretty OK. I would go back, but probably get a different gyro. The 'King,' which I believe is a combo of felafel and eggplant, sounds intriguing. I wish they'd put their kebobs in a gyro, as some places do, for more variety. Delicious lavash wraps. My boo and I split the lamb and beef wrap and a falafel wrap. Both were very good; not a meat pile, but a sensible portion that is filling and well seasoned. The hot tea was very nice; tasted brewed from loose leaf and was welcoming on a chilly day. As I walked past the kitchen, I saw chicken being seasoned with yogurt and spices that smelled amazing and salmon being cubed for salmon kebabs. You can tell quality by seeing a clean kitchen with fresh ingredients we would be proud to use in our own kitchen. This restaurant is great! The food is high quality and the kitchen is clean. I love that they are Kurdish, because we just don't see that every day, now do we? It's nice to have something unique like a Kurdish restaurant. I like supporting this restaurant because it's a way of supporting Kurdish people, as well. It is just a tad more expensive than a regular kabob place, but it is worth it because you get higher quality food, the employees are nice, and you know you are getting something that is good for you, so you have peace of mind. So glad we picked Rojbas Grill for our night exploring Berkeley. It was near to our hotel so we gave it a try. The best Humus and pita we have had in a very long time and they keep the pita coming. Having never eaten here I was hesitant to order food for 12 people, but it was my partner's b'day and he really wanted Mediterranean food. I called a few days ahead and spoke to a very helpful, patient man (manager? owner?) who helped me figure out what to order. The next day I went in to pay and got to taste some falafel, prepared without hesitation by the cook, for me to sample. It was moist, flavorful, delicious. Yesterday my large order was ready on time, included everything that I ordered and was unbelievably delicious. It included falafal, edme, tabouleh, hummus, salad, chicken shish, lamb, beef, chicken meat for gyros. The food was plentiful and everything was delicious.
