I am not from Somerset but work in the area and was really bummed when I realized there wasn't too many breakfast options, other than fast food, in the area. That was until I discovered Roger's. Whether I sit at the bar, take a table and get take out, the service and food quality is top notch. The wait staff is amazing, I am always greeted with a smile and their food does not disappoint. There is nothing more that I enjoy than starting off my morning with a hot meal that reminds me of what my Mom used to make me on Sunday mornings. I live in New Bedford and have found myself driving to Somerset, on my days off, just to get Roger's. It is worth the half hour drive. Last but certainly not least, their bacon is what dreams are made of. Seriously, it's like I had a dream of hitting the bacon lottery and then had their bacon and realize it wasn't a dream! Decent food. Clam chowder wasnt good at all, in my opinion. They should omit the bacon. Way too overpowering for clam chowder.

Nice place. Good comfort food. The kale soup was delicious. Took a chance on the fish reuben. It wasn't really a reuben, but it was good. My wife had the French dip with homemade potato chips. They were very good. Service was excellent! read more

The food here is absolutely terrible my step son ordered French toast and they gave him 1 piece like what was he supposed to do with that. The bacon was so bad it seemed like it was made in the microwave. The service was shitty I would not recommend this place to anyone McDonald's has better breakfast. read more

Their breakfast is always amazing. The free corn bread on Sundays melts in your mouth. I am a huge fan of their hash, corned beef and the chourico. Roger's is very consistent. I have never left hungry or dissapointed! read more

I'm very disappointed in the changes they've made. It seems the decor has changed everyone's attitude. It's ok but nothing to write home about. I've given them several changes and noting has changed. The prices are crazy for what you get. The service was awful. I told the waitress my steak tips were over cooked and almost inedible and she apologized. I brought it home to my dog. Another time I asked for extra dipping sauce for the onion rings and she told me when I was finished with what I had she would get more. Really.. you get a heaping plate of onion rings and 1 tiny crock of dipping sauce. I even offered to pay for the extra sauce. The answer is no.I'm not going to beg for thousand island dressing. I often take my grandchildren out but even they don't want to go. You can't even get a hot dog. What's that all about ? It's certainly not kid friendly either.This is very sad because I've been going there for over 40 yrs. I think they should get their noses out of the air and come back down to earth. Same old same old hoo mi chow mein and fried food together what a culinary genius. Menu hasn't changed in years (except for making it even smaller) new interior menu and food inferior if you enjoy plain ordinary food go for it when they reopened I returned to check it out. Someone there with a child asked for the children's menu the server went to the owner I heard her say "oh I forgot to write one" are you kidding me closed for months remodeling and never entered their mind to write a children's menu. It just my opinion, but, if this place was a new concept restaurant opening now they would not last a year. The only reason it is open is the fact it has been open for soooo long it's paid for. I love this place. Never had a bad or even mediocre meal here. Very casual, friendly, and the prices can't be beat.

Used to be good before they 're did it, but now the bars packed with a bunch of kids and the service is bad, messed up my order last week..

High quality food for cheap.. Best Scrod Mozambique around. Great beer selection and excellent bartenders! Will go back again.

The food is always good! Prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly. We go often. In fact, we are on our way now! Some of my favorites are the Cape Cod Reuben, Corned Beef Reuben, Fish & Chips, and the house fritters with chourico! When we try the specials, we are always pleased! read more

First time there since the reopen. I like the smaller menu, plenty to choose from but not overwhelming. I had the seafood pasta and it was very good. Staff was pleasant and friendly. If somethings not broken, don't fix it. I have to admit that I was incredibly annoyed when they told us they'd be closed for a month and ended up being closed for 4-5 months. I've been twice since it reopened and am very disappointed. The new decor is fine, but the menu is lacking and probably has about 1/3 of what it used to. Our favorites are gone and the prices have gone up significantly. As a result of being closed so long, we had a lot of time to try other places and have realized that Roger's food just doesn't compare anymore. It's no longer our date night restaurant. Heard some good things about this place so decided to check it out. It's cute and nice and clean. Staff is friendly enough. Menu has a good variety but the food quality is that of a cafeteria. Had the turkey avocado blt. Horrible bread, DELI turkey‍. In a homey place I was expecting real turkey. It was served with tots and they tried to make them fancy, big mistake. My son had turkey dinner, should be amazing in a place like this. Noooo. Server said the mashed were real, well they certainly didn't taste it. Poor quality, turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed. Really. Had left overs but didn't wrap, that's how bad it was. My husband had a Portuguese dish, not too good either, not even worth trying as there are so many better options for Portuguese food within a few minute drive. I tried a side of their famous chow mein too. I don't get why it's "famous". I ate it because I was hungry, that is all. If you want cheap cafeteria food this place is for you. Wouldn't go back. This place has so much potential if they would start with better quality ingredients. It's already priced as such. read more

Oh boy, what can I say. This restaurant is a mere 15 miles from Providence, a gastronomical oasis. I am sorry to say that Roger's is simply mediocre and is definitely no oasis. I ordered the chorico and chips. . .the chorico was cooked "to death" and I could not eat it, the fries were your average, run of the mill frozen chips. Since this was a take out order I had no recourse as I wasn't going to drive ten miles round trip to return it. My friend had a hamburger, which was tasteless and on a squishy, white bun, big whoop. Sadly, Somerset is a place where I will not be dropping my hard earned money on a meal and especially Roger's Family Restaurant. Roger's why don't you try to make this the best food west of the Braga Bridge? Get someone in there that can really cook innovative and contemporary cuisine. Returned a week later and ordered the same drink as before and this time it came with one measly orange slice. Pet peeve of mine is inconsistency in food and beverage service. Had to ask for bread with the littlenecks app. We were already through with the clams when we got the opportunity to ask for it but definitely needed it to mop up the juice. Your chef is shy with the garlic, loosen up! Garlic is good! Small complaints for decent food but the devil is in the details. read more

We were very disappointed in their Father's Day breakfast effort. Once we were seated we were told the wait to get our food would be 45 minutes. Not a problem as it was extremely busy. The problem was when we got our food three of the 7 orders were wrong. When we told our waitress the answer was the cooks are really busy. Unacceptable! Will not be back! read more

Service wasn't so great walking in with my family not one person said hello had to figure out what to do before someone mentioned we needed to put our names down after we were seated waitress was great besides asking if we needed anything then forgetting to bring back what we had ask for. as I seen everyone was offered corn bread we were offered corn bread 10min before leaving was felt discriminated being the only color of person made worst that two tables that walked in after had received there corn bread by same young man that was suppose to stop and drop off cornbread would not recommend to ppl of color no go zone here read more

This is a nice family restaurant. Not fancy, not a lot of ambiance, but clean, good and friendly service, extremely reasonable prices, and great family fare. Always enjoy what we order. The only things negative that I can say is that like many restaurants of its type, they serve canned vegetables which I don't much care for. Also they do tend to run out of a lot of what they offer. it goes fast and that's always a good sign. read more

Went out for breakfast at Roger's Family Restaurant like usual and the waitress (one that didnt wait on us) has the nerve to come up to me after and tell me that I should control my kid and that she's not a maid and now she has to clean the fingerprint off the window because he wanted to look outside because he was upset. Then I continued to tell her that I work at a restaurant and I understand but I would never come up to a customer and tell them that I'm not a maid and that I shouldn't be picking up after them and they should control their kids especially when I clean all underneath the table and the only thing left is the fingerprint on the window which I don't have Windex to just whip out of my purse and clean. Then she continues to disrespect me and tell me that I'm a bad mother and I still need to control my child and she would never let her kid do that yes she doesn't have kids to even know. She also tells me i shouldnt have kids if i dont knoe how to control them while in a resteraunt, remind you my child was good the whole time we were there and he went up to the window to look outside and left a fingerprint. I'm literally disgusted with the customer service I just received it will never be going back there because of that one waitress. And your a "family" restaurant. read more
