Approximately 60 days ago, the representatives from smart roofing came to my door even though there is a clearly posted sign that states "no salesmen". Against my better judgement I allowed them to look at my roof. I was told a new roof was needed and was presented options. Since I am a single income household, I made it a point to ensure that I asked and verified that NO funds would be needed out of my pocket...Ever. This was met with an "affirmative" no less than 6-10 times. As per that aspect, I decided to proceed with the roofing job, again verifying that there would be no cost out of my pocket. Again "no Sir. Nothing out of pocket". Subsequently, I received a card on my doorstep from one of the project managers stating that the salesman that came had a personal emergency and would no longer be on my project. There was a lot of discussion around "subsidies", and the fact that smart roofing were experts in making sure that the claim would be maximized. Again, "with no out of pocket costs." A check was received from state farm. At the time there were still questions as to what the scope of work would be, and that Smart Roofing would get back to me. The next call that was received was from Wells Fargo. The representative stated that there was a call received by Genesis Capital wanting specific PCI level data on my account and wanted to know if it was okay to release this data to them. I explained to the Wells rep that "given recent security concerns with Wells Fargo, that I was reluctant to release any information to any person whom I could not identify. I suggested that the representative get the Genesis representative on a conference call so that they could be verified. The Wells rep informed me that the number that was provided by the Genesis rep was a "non- working number". I instructed Wells that no information was to be released. This evening 7/20/2017 at approximately 6:30 PM a person stating that they were from Genesis capital and was here to resolve "the issue". I explained that no checks will be released until I know the scope of the work that is being performed as Smart roofing still needed to get back to me with some answers. I was then told that I was being served with an "intent to Lien" on my primary residence for the amount of the check from state farm. This individual realized that I was irate and began to take pictures of myself and my home while letting me know " state law says we can lien your property, and we WILL seek 3x damages, you have been legally served, go ahead call your lawyer, we're going to call your mortgage and insurance company too". Papers were left on my doorstep, not handed to me. Aside from the invasion of privacy, threatening tactics, poor ethics and deceptive means used to serve me with papers for work that has not yet even been scheduled, there is the issue of what I was told and what is actually happening. The Genesis representative was there only to serve me with fraudulent papers. I also see that they have an "F" rating. There was supposed to be a new roof, gutters, part of my covered patio and some other items that Smart roofing promised "with zero cost out of pocket" as of yet, all I have are lies and a lien on my property to go along with the stress of potentially having to fight a mechanics lien for work that has not been performed. Thus far the entire process has been deceptive, and both companies should be investigated to the highest degree. In speaking with the Smart roofing project manager, it was stated that "this should not be happening, that nothing has been contracted for" The owner (who would not get on the phone) even after numerous requests stated (through the project manager) that "neither the owner or myself (the project manager) have any knowledge of this issue or who Genesis Capital is". This is highly unusual and even more suspect than the claims from Smart Roofing as to what could be accomplished and for "no money out of pocket" UPDATE 6/27/2018 All has been resolved. Everyone has a bad hire every now and then; it's just a fact of being a business owner. Dave was unfortunate to have had one. Dave and I discussed what was promised and were able to agree on the work to be done. Dave was courteous, understanding and professional. Were it not for our historically unpredictable Colorado weather, I'm certain that we would have been done a long time ago. The quality was EXCELLENT! It's very impressive to see a man stand strongly behind their brand, Dave is an honest man and will do the right thing for his clients. He has done exactly that for me. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND SMART ROOFING. Honest, professional people with very STRONG ETHICS and values.

Craftmanship is a C, attitude was a D-, timeline was a C, Painting and finishing touches gets a D, and the overall process averaged to a D+. It's a shame to spend this much money and be marginally happy with the end result. During the bid process Brian indicated he would be on site regularly to manage the process. This was a lie and could not be further from the truth. He was rarely at the job-site, unless he needed a check. Craftmanship: Lack of caring was the biggest issue here. At the end of the project we are left with trim boards where the nail holes were never filled, just painted over - some of them aren't even painted over. Corners on trim are not square or flush in most cases. The drywall people never sanded the second layer of mud - which shows clearly through the paint. Workers chipped the Brand New quartz countertop and 'fixed' it with some very potent epoxy - burns my blood to see brand new quartz get chipped due to carelessness. Paint and Finishing touches = The painters were horrible. NO drop cloths were used and we ended up with paint spatter all over the windows, hardwood floors, ceiling fan, quartz countertops, new vanity, shower tile, everywhere... See pics. The cleaners that were hired by Gaddy Construction did not clean the paint up at all - in fact they didn't even clean the windows. This left the painful task of scrubbing paint off the floors to me and my wife. It took 4 hours one day just for the bedroom floors and walls - we are still working on the tile floors in the bathrooms as the paint is in the grout, etc. Finish carpentry was spotty at best. We are still finding finish nail holes that were never filled - and holes that were filled but never sanded and have since been painted over. This will likely result in us re-hiring some painters next summer to do the job correctly. Attitude: Brian was agreeable enough during the process until I disagreed with building a new wall OVER existing carpet. Brian wanted to shortcut the process - and got very confrontational when I questioned it (FYI: Building a new permanent wall OVER carpet and padding is not acceptable per code). Brian got frustrated and walked away from me in the middle of a conversation - he stomped off to his car and sped off like a crazy person. Needless to say it's been a bit awkward since then. Most recently I was told it is "just not appropriate" to send a text at 7:30 PM on a Sunday asking about the electrician who is showing up on Monday... Entire project gets a D-. It was frustrating and I will not deal with Gaddy Construction ever again; and I would warn you to think twice before even asking for a bid from his Company. It is not worth your money or effort. Feel free to ask me any questions - or just look at this pics and ask yourself "Would I pay my hard earned money for that?" Hint: the answer is NO! Probably every house in my neighborhood received hail damage a couple of years ago (like at least…read more20 broken tiles), and as I watched the repairs going on, there was one company that was in evidence more than any other, Gorilla Roof. I was impressed with the new finished roofs, liked how they looked, and they seemed to move through the process of removing the old tiles, replacing the new tiles, and putting on the new gutters much more quickly than some of the other companies. (My friend's roof took over a month, while mine was done, start to finish, in 8 working days this summer, 2020.) Got ahold of Ed Jacobs and Myles, chose my tiles and underlayment, and filled out the HOA forms...(well, actually I forwarded the form to Ed and HE filled it out!) It was approved in a couple of days, and the large dumpsters were delivered right after that and the work began. I had an EXCELLENT, as in 10/10, experience with Ed and Myles, not only are they personable, but every concern was addressed to my satisfaction, every phone call and email answered quickly. I don't believe there is a better roofing company out there, I feel like I got the best that could be had in the Denver area. I will highly recommend this company to all of my friends and neighbors! Thanks for everything, Ed and Myles! UPDATE: It is now almost 4 years later. Everything's holding up great! One thing I forgot to mention is that I told Ed when he first came to look at the roof, that when it rains, water pours into the window upstairs, and somehow finds its way (straight down the drywall) to drip onto the kitchen table in the room below. He knew what the problem was, and took care of it. I've never had any more water come in that window or any other. My house is nice and dry still and the roof is holding up great, even against more hail we've had in my area! I had Myles come out recently for some warranty work, and he took care of everything in good order, even going above and beyond with taking care of some problems with a gutter that happened when a tree branch or something hit it. Thanks for everything, Myles, you're so great to work with, and I appreciate the extra work you did for me! :)
