Steve and the guys helped us remodel a bathroom in our 1935 house. They did incredible work considering what we were starting with. The house was so old that we had to cut into false ceilings and around hvac that probably shouldn't have been where it was. With that came multiple changes to the plans, Steve was always helpful in proposing ways that we could best use our space and get the best out of the bathroom. The result was fantastic - the finishing on the tile and everything else was great, and the shower ended up about a foot bigger than it was previously. High quality work at a fair price. Steve Beam took on a tough job in our 1903 home in Sunnyside. We requested a closet be demolished, a new one constructed, and an old door jam be reworked. Steve and Cory worked on the project for about a week, and the painstaking attention to detail and craftsmanship shows through on every level. We had to reschedule a couple times. The first one was on us as we had trouble getting some of our materials. The second time Steve had a family emergency which he communicated to us and got us rescheduled. Steve was able to help me with a very odd (at least to me!) problem: the skylights in our bathroom would fill with condensation whenever we showered, and that moisture would ultimately run down into the drywall and was causing water damage throughout the bathroom ceiling and walls. We didn't want to close the skylights altogether, because we love the light they let in, so Steve was able to come up with a solution: build out frames around the skylights in order to install plexiglass covers, which are also removable for cleaning. It's only been a couple weeks, but so far, very little water build-up in the skylights after showers, and no leaking or apparent water in the ceiling or walls whatsoever. So not only does it at least seem to be working, but it looks great, as well. Steve may have not been the cheapest option, but he was worth every penny, and his work ethic reflected that--he and his team were all very nice, professional, they put down tarps everywhere they were working (including the entire path from the front door to our bathroom), and made sure to keep everything as tidy as possible. He was flexible, conscientious, and honest, up front about expectations and pricing, and worked hard to try to reduce cost when it turned out that our deck needed entirely redone rather than just retopped. (We had suspected that might be the case, and he warned us it could be, but everyone was hoping it could just be retopped. Unfortunately the beams underneath were visibly rotted.)
