I recently suffered from a lower back injury when I visited Ace Hardware in Canton MA. I asked a middle aged worker about grass seed and, explaining my physical limitations, asked if someone could help be by carrying it out to my car. He reached back and held his back, saying as long as it was less than 20 lbs. I was so angry I bought the seed and lugged it to the car. Canton, Massachusetts Ace no more. Dishonest business. Overcharged me, and even though I caught it immediately after they rung me up and they conceded the amount of the overcharge, they would not refund the full amount. I was a longtime rewards member and the actual amount they didn't refund was small, but anything less than what I was owed is a red line. I filed complaints against the business and manager with the Mass AG's office and BBB. Avoid this place. read more

This Rocky's is really just average. But because it's huge and organized, I'll bump it up to 4 stars. I came here to get paint. Benjamin Moore Paint. And they didn't have any! So disappointing! My question: why? The Walpole & Millis Rocky's have Benjamin Moore! Why doesn't the Canton location have any. And for that matter, why aren't there tons of clearance tables throughout this large store, like the other Rocky's I have visited. Not too happy with this location. Yes, it's a bit larger (in that case, why don't you have Benjamin Moore paint or tons of clearance?), and Yes, the staff are friendly, and they carry most of the items other hardware stores do. But I still like the space, (some) products, and the service from this location. I guess I'll come back when I'm not ordering paint. For that, I'll go to the Walpole or Millis Rocky's, which are both, in my opinion as organized and have even better sales, and service. Overall, 4 stars. But don't go out of your way to come to this Rocky's (like I did), it's not any better than the others. read more

There never seems to be enough floor staff to answer questions. And there's usually only one register open. Perhaps this is due to Covid? It makes you want to go to a big box store where you can struggle for less. read more

I had an appointment in the area and had some time to spare so I just popped in to check it out. It is a nice, clean, well stocked store. I was pretty excited to see they sold Stihl because I'm in the market for a chainsaw. Might have actually purchased one if there was anyone who wanted to acknowledge my existence. Oh well, guess I'll get it elsewhere. read more

The thing about Ace Hardware and Rocky's in particular is, its hit or miss with the staff. The staff at this particular location has the personality of a wet mop and could care less about their customers. First off there is enough staff scattered around the store for no good reason and most are just standing around. Ace tends to hire young kids in high school or worse retirees that are trying to pass the time and both groups could give a care less about you the lonely customer trying to figure out what paint to buy or what lawn seed to pick up. The store is also so filled up with stuff, you can barely squeeze through the narrow aisles. I am all about giving business to the mom and pops and avoiding the big box stores, however Ill go back to the big box stores so I dont have to deal with this garbage treatment. The manager here is also a real piece of work and as bad as the Milford location. Skip this place and travel a mile down the road to Norwood Home Depot where at least their high school kids and retirees care. read more

Good selection of items. There are usually plenty of workers on the floor to answer questions and help you. There is typically a little wait at the registers. Carry out help is available for larger items. It's a nice change from the giant stores. read more

Sometimes it's still possible to be pleasantly surprised and Rocky's is an example of one of those times. This is one of the cleanest, well arranged, well stocked and presented stores I have ever have had the pleasure of shopping at. The store is kept impeccably clean, with a staff that equally as impressive. Informative, friendly, and vigilant in customer service. It may not have the size of Home Depot or lowes but given the wide selection and variety the store does have this is definitely a go-to store before surrendering to buying from one of the Giants. Ordered a Stihl hedge trimmer on line for same day pick up. Placed order at 10.00 am. By 6.30 pm, no notification to pick up had been received by me, so I went to the location. Lady working there was clueless. Had to refer to someone in the back office. Finally got my item after about 10 minutes. Before I left, the lady told me the reason I did not receive a notification email was because their system showed a pick up date 2 days in the future. That is crap, as my on line order details showed same day pick up. Plus the item was in stock so there was no reason for a pick up at a later date. Either there is a system issue, personnel issue or both. Will look for another Stihl dealer. read more

This is a solid hardware store that has the basics and more. Just picked up a kiddie pool for the dogs to better deal with the heatwave. Called BJ's , Target, and Lowes with no answer yesterday Sunday so took a chance and called Rockys. Fellow picked right up checked on it and told me they had several in stock. Nice. I have been to this store many times over the years and I find the customer service to be friendly and knowledgably and they always are adequately staffed. May be a bit more than Home Depot or Lowes for many things but the convenience friendliness and good layout make up for it. read more

This store's byline is "Ace, the helpful place" and they truly are. I moved to the area 5yrs ago, and this Ace is fantastic. The employees are always helpful and willing to help me find the right box of fittings, washers or anything else. They have a wide selection of items, and more importantly, the employees consistently know where to find items and what they have or don't have in stock (I find this positive asset is often hit or miss at the local larger hardware store chain). Even nicer though, is they add a personal touch; today I stopped in to get items to repair my kitchen sink, and the check out clerk remembered me and returned something I had accidentally left (and didn't realize I had!) on their copy machine when I was there over a month ago. It is nice having a local hardware store right around the corner where customer's aren't just another face. read more

This is my go to place. While some people at this store know more than others there is always someone on hand willing to help. Its nice to be able to pop in and out in a few minutes rather than waiting in line at the big stores. They don't always have what I am looking for but on the other hand sometimes they surprise me. The prices at Rockys might be a little more than some of other stores but so is my time and Gasoline. read more

This is a terrific store, with competitive pricing and a much better level of help than you'll find elsewhere. They definitely "punch above their weight" when it comes to the amazing array of items they carry, whether it's tools, nuts, bolts, washers, or seasonal items. Rather than carry a lot of the same item, they carry lots of different items. It's my go to place for all kinds of stuff. read more
