I was met by the manager/owner(?) who paged an employee to assist me in selecting the proper length and width of the bolts and nuts. Matt examined the broken piece and selected a proper replacement bolt for each of the broken pieces. I thought that I would be spending my afternoon with pliers and a wrench. But to my surprise, Matt attached the bolts and tightened the nuts. I definitely recommend Richmond Hardware for their courteous employees and expert service. Thank you.

I was welcomed into the stores and began conversation with the two employees at the front. They helped me pick a sled and went to go get the round ones for the back so that I could see all the available options. It was a very pleasant experience and I would totally come back here again!

Especially after Pandemic.... aren't you happy to be still up and running and selling things and running a business, or nah?

They have *everything* honestly their stock and selection is on par with the big boxers. The guy in the shop told me they have over 300,000 individual items. They are also super nice. You basically walk in and are immediately asked "how can I help you" how great is that - they bring you right to the item every time. Service couldn't be better. The only downside to this place is their hours.They close at 5pm - cant go after work and they are closed sunday - which is 50% of the week available to me for doing home repairs etc. The short of it is that this place is an awesome hardware store and I much prefer supporting them over the big chains.

As neighborhood hardware stores go, this place is the genuine article. They have a wide range of fasteners (sold by the piece, not in poly-bags!), plumbing and electrical items appropriate to the kinds of houses found in the neighborhood, lawn and garden supplies, cleaning supplies, paint and -- most of all -- a very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. (Ooops, I almost forgot to mention a handsome and somewhat aloof Maine coon cat named "Hershey" who protects the lawn and bird seed from mice and provides the store with senior management.) I've been involved in construction and renovation work for many years, and this kind of hardware store is getting difficult to find. ( I was working with a carpenter installing a huge Andersen bay window which is supported by internal wire cables. Atlas True Value had large turnbuckles, 10" through bolts and wire rope clamps all in stock. ) As might be expected, they're a little bit more expensive than the big-box Lowes and Home Depot, but I frequently find they're more economical because I can get first-quality items in the quantity I need and I don't have to spend the time and gas money to go miles when I need something. My only complaint is that they shorten their business hours during the summer months and close a little earlier on Sundays.

They have a paint selection as well which is crazy -- they are very efficient with the layout. This store stands out over other shops in the area for two reasons: the staff are super helpful, and the items are priced incredibly fairly. The staff is always eager to help and I have never had a negative experience. I get items here for half or less of what they'd cost at other home stores on the street.
