Rare honesty and top-notch expertise! When my refrigerator started making a loud, crazy noise, other companies quoted high diagnostic fees or couldn't come out for days. I called Hancock Appliance Repair, and right over the phone, he diagnosed the issue as a bad ice maker fan and explained everything clearly. It is rare to find someone this honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. I highly recommend Hancock Appliance Repair and will definitely be using them for all my future service needs! read more

Hancock Appliance is the best! The sales team is so knowledgeable and professional. No pressure, just really helpful info on the various models, features, etc. so the customer can make an informed decision. Perhaps best of all is their delivery service. The Bottling brothers, Jimmy and Billy, are amazing. They don't just deliver the appliance, they make sure it is set up properly, fully functional and that the customer understands how to operate it. We only shop at Hancock for our appliances and encourage others to do the same. You will be delighted! read more

My wife and I have been loyal and highly satisfied customers of Hancock Appliance for over 40 years. When our refrigerator failed last week we immediately went to Hancock Appliance and met the store owner, Bill Trafone. Bill spent over two hours reviewing our family needs and displaying over 10 different models and manufacturers in order to find the make and model refrigerator that best met our needs and that was compatible with our kitchen specifications. Mr. Trafone was very knowledgeable; patient and kind. With his guidance, we finally selected a wonderful Frigidaire model that met all of our needs for a very competitive and reasonable price. He was also able to arrange for delivery of the refrigerator within a few days. He assigned his expert installation team of Billy and Jimmy Bottling to perform the installation. They were experts at refrigerator installation and guided me and my wife through the installation process and fully explained all of the details of the operation and upkeep of the refrigerator. They were highly personable, kind; informative and allowed us to understand and enjoy all of the many features of this sophisticated appliance. They made the installation process a joy. We were very pleased with the entire process of our purchase and installation of our new refrigerator and highly recommend Hancock Appliance, its ownership team and their installation personnel to any and all customers seeking the purchase of high quality appliances from a friendly, honest and first class business at a fair and reasonable price. Amazing service from Billy, a fun and honest atmosphere that felt like I was being given the attention I needed for the investment I was making, delivery and take away went smoothly on both trips (one item had a lead time while the other was in the warehouse), just a good experience. read more

I had a very frustrating experience purchasing a washing machine here. First, I submitted a request for information and never received a response. After waiting three days, I had to call the store myself, only to be told they never saw my request. When I scheduled delivery, I explained that I could not be home at 3 PM. I was assured they would put me on the truck as the last stop so I could meet them after work. On delivery day, however, I received a call at 1 PM saying they were already on their way. I left work early, only to arrive and find they had already left -- despite telling me they would wait. I tried calling the store repeatedly, but no one answered. I finally drove down in person around 1:45 PM, and was told that all deliveries for the day were already finished. This was not only inconvenient but also completely contradictory to what I had been promised. In the end, I had to cancel the order and get a refund. Overall, the lack of communication, broken promises, and poor customer service made this a very disappointing experience. read more

Absolutely the best to work with. Great communication, team, and service. Will always go back to this business.

I went to Hancock Appliance in Quincy to find a dishwasher for my parent's home. My Dad had previously used Hancock and raved about the quality and service. I was looking for a "One Stop Shop". This is EXACTLY what I received. I walked in on December 10 thinking that I was going to be there for a while deciding what to choose. Bill, the owner, greeted me, asked me a few questions about my needs and suggested a model. It seemed fine to me, and I decided to purchase it. I met with Maya who completed the paperwork. I was in and out of the store within 30 minutes. Delivery was originally thought to be before Christmas. I called and was told that delivery was tentatively scheduled for Wednesday the 31st in the afternoon. (I was in no rush, so it was not a problem.) Delivery was then scheduled for Tuesday, December 30, between 8 and 10. I was contacted the day before by Jim to ensure that someone would be there. I confirmed the delivery. I could not be there, but my niece was going to be in the house. Since I was not there, I asked her about the experience. Delivery was on time. They arrived around 9:15. They were courteous, professional, and efficient. They asked her if she wanted to look behind the old dishwasher. It was cleaner than she expected! Everything was completed within an hour. I was contacted around 10:30 by the store to tell me that all was complete. I was extremely happy with my experience with Hancock Appliance. Joan Sullivan read more

A Hancock TV and Appliance salesman did not verbally tell us at any time the refund policy on refrigerators and now we're stuck with one that we don't like, and wasted $1,000+ on it. I immediately contacted the store, asking for a refund, but the salesperson notified me that as soon as the refrigerator is in the home, NO refunds. Other stores have refunds, why not Hancock? Unless you're 100% know what you're looking for, BEWARE. Don't assume Hancock has a reasonable refund policy because it doesn't. read more

Top load washer after 15 years stooped working so on MA tax free weekend looked on line at the small business stores for a washer. Looked at GW Toma, New England Appliance and Hancock Appliance websites. Chose Hancock Appliance due to location had make and models that Consumer Reports approved of. But due to tax free weekend, store was busier than usual. I did notice a sales man helping out another customer and when he was giving his pitch to a client, I needed to look at other models in store since most washing machines only come with a one year warranty and LG brand that Consumer Reports gave thumbs up to were cheaply made IMO. Found a model that was assembled in the US that came with a limited 5 year warranty for materials and workmanship and a limited 10 year on the motor (I'm responsible for labor and cost) Only reason location got 4 stars is salesman did not mention anything about financing that website lists. If that's only for online purchases, that's fine. But it would have helped the budget to have that 6 month/12 month option. . I try to get away from using the big box stores. read more

I was in dire need of a new Dishwasher. I was looking for a Bosch 500 series And could not find the item ANYWHERE.. All stores SOLD OUT!!! Home Depot. Billy was Prompt,Professional, Courteous and patiently answered ALL of my questions. He knew exactly what was needed to complete the installation for me . Billy got the Dishwasher for me on Monday and was installed same day. Billy really treated me like I was part of the family!! Thanks again, Hancock Appliance and to Bill!!.. What great customer service, from purchasing to installation! Here is our story. We are doing our kitchen over and designed and built the kitchen around the appliances. We originally bought our (4) appliances at Boston Appliance, Woburn, MA as we live in Peabody, MA. As we close to the delivery date, Boston Appliance, a once repeatable family business stopped returning our calls and then within a week closed their doors and went bankrupt. We needed the exact same appliance to fit into the design of the kitchen. We called many stores and prices where much higher and in most cases not readily available. Enter Hancock Appliance and owner Bill Triphone! Not only could he get the appliances, meet the original schedule and new the position we were in he matched the prices from the bankrupted Boston Appliance. He was a true professional with exceptional customer service. He told us he would send his "A" team to set-up and deliver and WOW did he ever. We experienced "White Glove Service" from Jimmy & Billy. On time and treated our house like it was their house. I found these guys extremely respectful, polite and true craftsmen. I would recommend Hancock Appliance to anyone, as I found my experience a true 5 STAR! Dan MacGillivray Peabody, MA read more

In preparing for our kitchen remodel we've been looking around for different appliance options and couldn't speak more highly of our experience at Hancock. We have a lot of questions and have been going through them all as we work to find the perfect pieces for our project. It's been great talking through our options and really getting down to what's important to us as a family. The function and beauty of their pieces is exactly what we've been looking for. I purchased my oven from Hancock Appliance during Covid. So, of course it took a while to get it. Hancock Appliance kept me informed and up to date on the shipping issues. New Year's Weekend I had an issue with the oven locking and I wasn't able to unlock it. I cannot tell enough just how helpful the Hancock Appliance people were. It was a holiday, a weekend and most people just want to get out of work and celebrate the holiday. I received so much attention from everyone I spoke with. I received calls back to check on the situation. Bill, even called me on a Sunday to check up and to offer solutions. I think he mentioned he is the owner. On Tuesday, after the Holiday, a person was here to fix the issue. I was absolutely amazed at the amount of attention I received from everyone at HANCOCK APPLIANCE and strongly recommend this family owned business to anyone in need of appliances. Hancock Appliance contacted me after reading my review, and offered an apology. They also offered a free 5-year warranty on the dishwasher I bought, even though I had bought it from another store. During the 30 years I've lived in Quincy, I've purchased all of my appliances from Hancock, and had great repair service. This time, when I went in looking for a new gas range, the salesperson suggested that I just take a look at their website. He said they only have a few models in the store, but hundreds on their website. He seemed to have no interest in helping me. Not satisfied, I went to a competing appliance store where the salesperson listened, found what I was looking for on their website, and then showed me a better model that was on sale. He had this model on the sales floor and went through the features with me. He made a sale. When I relayed my Hancock experience to neighbors, I heard similar stories. Hancock today does not appear to be the Hancock of old. read more

We just purchased a washer, dryer, and full set of kitchen appliances. Our experience could not have been better. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon to purchase our dryer, while in the store my husband started looking at the kitchen appliances. As we puzzled over items trying to determine if they would fit, etc., Bill, the owner, offered to come to our home and measure everything - that same day! It was the very best experience, something you just could never get from a big box store. From the moment we walked into the showroom to the final delivery and installation of our purchases, the experience with everyone at Hancock was exceptional. We are delighted with our new GE Cafe kitchen appliances and we would recommend Hancock to anyone looking for a personal, extremely helpful buying experience and professional delivery service. AVOID - TERRIBLE SERVICE I just bought a new condo in Boston and the builder/developer agreed to install a washer and dryer. He ordered W/D through Hancock and they sold him a unit which, by their own admission, is barely sold anymore - as it's an integrated top loader with minimal capacity (It has the capacity for ~3 hankerchiefs). Hancock easily could have advised the builder that for the same cost (and within the same space constraints), he could have installed a more efficient W/D with at least 50% greater capacity. Hancock refuses to accept any responsibility for selling this undersized, outmoded and likely long in their inventory unit and actually sold the developer 3 of these "hardly ever" sold W/D. Hancock's customer "service" offer was to "help" me by selling me another W/D, with larger capacity but they refused to offer any credit towards the new W/D for the new, unused original unit they dumped on the developer (and by extension dumped on me). By contrast Yale Appliance indicated they would have provided credit to take back the W/D (less a restocking fee) had they initially sold the unit. Hancock should be avoided - their motto "We've Built Our Reputation on Customer Service" couldn't be in starker contrast to my experience... read more
