We worked with Lorraine and she was a font of knowledge, guided us in our choices and is fully informed. Our project flowed just as they promised and were "on it" all the time. We went back and truly looked for ANY EMPLOYEE ON THE FLOOR AND LOOKED AND LOOKED! Finally we found someone who said he would contact someone and after several minutes this young Dark Hair Gentleman who I found out later was known to Matt in AS IS! Well that employee was very unhelpful even condescending by pointing to the Skew saying that's the price but we said there is no other and this was display like he did not want to hear that! Again he used his finger and pointed and touched the skew as we help it and said that's the price! We put it back, shopped for 2 minutes and said.... Let's take it back to AS IS AND WE DID! Mentioned that that employee was very condescending and kept pointing to the skew on the back and walked away! Well, AS IS SAID " HE KNOWS HIS SUPERVISOR AND WHO IT WAS"! Very apologetic that we experienced really unfortunate customer service that he helped us and said that's he will sell it as Display and printed out a yellow sticker for it plus giving us a heads up where would we like the sticker cause once on its very hard to remove it so we said on the back! THIS IS EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am very impressed that he took time to help us but also he made a sale! I'm having to drive up from the South Shore to Danvers for some of the tiles. Apparently they don't to store-to-store transfers? Also the order pickup area's staff isn't super professional. They picked our order and were riding the warehouse palette jack, screwing around, which caused a few of our boxes to topple order. We're relieved nothing was damaged but I wonder what OSHA would have to say about that. Also why does the staff here never, ever, ever pickup the phone? We tried calling the store over a dozen times for a quick question, over the course of a few days, and nobody ever picked up...

Update: Finally got delivery scheduled for Tuesday 10-11AM. At 11:45 I called to inquire where…read morethe delivery was. I was told they'd call me back. at about 1 I checked my email and there was a message that the truck got a flat and could they reschedule. I wrote back sure any time after 4:30 that day would be great. Another email said sure we can deliver after 4:30. At 4:50 (since they close at 5) I called and had to threaten to cancel the credit card payment. Vanity Showed up at 5:15. Later that night I emailed them back that the vanity was installed and when can they come to template the top. It's two days later and two emails later (another one this morning) and a phone call and they'll get back to me. Bill Shea's just gave me a quote for the same price for the same counter top, they'll come next week to template and should have the countertop ready for install in 10 days from that. I think I'm going to dispute the credit card charges if I don't hear back by the end of today and go with Bill Shea's. AVOID VANITY WORLD unless you want a never ending project. 2nd Update: Went to VW to ask for refund for the countertop part of my bill. They refused and told me to "Get the F*&k out". Contesting with credit card company. Looks like this will end up in small claims.

Unfortunately I am not the only one who has endured a bad experience with her. MH I warn anyone who will listen away from this unethical business and owner Robin Boyce. I had the misfortune to be her client and endure her careless, unprofessional, dishonest and ultimately abusive and vulgar treatment. My "custom kitchen" arrived without the custom elements and with a grossly oversized refrigerator. The kitchen designer blames someone else for a major kitchen error and refuses to fix it! (See photos) I had the exact same experience with the shutters and the custom stair-runner I ordered from her. They were both delivered with errors and missing parts, and Design West has done NOTHING to correct its errors. This is the worst experience I've ever had with another human being, period. I never received an apology on any mistake I swear to God. That's when I realized too late I had hired the wrong person. Robin Boyce/Design Center West scammed me by promising professional results and delivering dirt. Robin Boyce then turned verbally abusive when confronted with her easily disproved lies. (I have all documentation to prove my charges.) This last point deserves special mention. When I expressed my dismay at the errors, delays and lack of accountability, her demeanor shifted immediately from friendly to combative and borderline violent. It was a shock to learn the owner wasn't just a sleaze but mentally unhinged too. When I confronted her in her store after she ignored my contractor's emails and texts, she began screaming profanities at me while hurling insults about my appearance and character, which I presumed was an intimidation tactic. That felt sickening, but it worsened when she came at me with her arm pulled back as if to throw a punch, but thankfully she stopped herself before landing her fist in my face. I feel certain the only thing that stopped her was a possible assault charge. I would feel sorry for Ms Boyce if she wasn't a thief, and if her emotional instability didn't manifest in such an ugly manner. But no mental state excuses her dishonesty, mentally healthy or not. Not a word of this review is hyperbole. I lost thousands of dollars and was blindsided by a venomous verbal assault because I had the temerity to call out Robin Boyce on her mendacity and fraud. I could provide a colorful litany of her actions, but suffice it to say that it involved a lot of obscene finger, hip and hand gestures. Incidentally, her staff just sat there like dummies the entire time and let it all happen. Apparently they don't have an issue working for such a repulsive woman. Prior to my dealings with her, Robin was verbally abusive to my contractor on multiple occasions as well when he asked her about delayed deliverables. Following is an example of one the few correspondences between him and Robin that isn't littered with her F-bombs: "Shut up. Stop talking. Don't tell me what to do. Its not Maureen... its you. I'm surprised guys take your mouth, and the way you talk down to others; I suspect you've been punched a few times." This is the first---and I hope last--bad review I ever had to write. Let this brutally honest review serve as a public service announcement to warn others away from this troublemaker. Do not hire Design Center West. You will pay a premium for sloppy, mediocre results, and the owner will curse you when you express your dissatisfaction. This has been a yearlong nightmare that only ended after I hired someone else to fix all of her mistakes. Caveat emptor!

Robin helped me from start to finish with my new house build. Even during the pandemic she has been on top of things and instructing me to get things ordered prior to shipment delays. She and her team have been responsible, proactive, and truly professional. They are communicating with my contractor and his team and his cabinet installer told me it was such a pleasure working with them he would like to do more jobs with them. Any mistakes (Fedex dropped a vanity and it cracked) were handled quickly and replaced at no cost to me. Her attention to detail is incredible. Additionally, she was very focused on saving me money and making sure I was not buying things I did not need. It has been a true pleasure working with Robin and her team again. I cannot say enough good things about them!
