We used John Dolan Flooring to entirely redo our kitchen. Not only did they provide the cabinets, hardware, tiles, countertops, and flooring, they served as the general contractor for the whole job including the electrical and plumbing requirements. Caroline was extremely helpful (and patient) in our process of selecting cabinet styles, colors, placement, and configurations as well as selecting back-splashes and countertops. When done, she rendered our design online so we could see it from various perspectives. She had tons of good suggestions for us and really knows her stuff. The workmen were pleasant, showed up when we were told they'd show up, and did a fine job. In ONE case we were not happy with what a substitute carpenter did, and they immediately fixed the issue to our satisfaction. John Dolan, very frequently on site, supervised some of the dicier installations or did them himself. He was very competent, very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Our house is old and not square so we needed people with both the skill and temperment to deal with irregularities and surprises. John Dolan Flooring fit the bill. The job cost a good deal, but the charges were not out of line. We feel that we got a first rate job, and if we had to do it over again, we'd again choose John Dolan Flooring. read more

Dolan offered me the best value as their services include their own showroom and 20/20 Design software to assist in the project design process. The showroom provided me an opportunity to work personally with Caroline Dolan in selecting the best materials for creating my new kitchen. Caroline Dolan was very professional, knowledgeable, and patient in helping me decide how best to obtain the kitchen of my dreams. She was an absolute pleasure to work with from our initial meeting at my home until the final walkthrough. The daily work crew employed by Dolan included Danny, Nado, Jason, Pat, and Steve were very professional, courteous, and meticulous in getting the job done. The project cost was fair and relatively close to the proposal. The remodeling completion date was very close to their promised time period and construction progressed smoothly throughout the project. I truly appreciate all their hard work in transforming my kitchen into a beautiful and more functional area of my home. I could not be happier with the results they achieved. We initially hired John Dolan for carpet, and were so pleased with the results that we also had them design and install a new vanity in the main bathroom, and then refinish all the hardwood floors, including stair treads. Some of the jobs were fairly complex and the estimators and workers were all clear from the outset what might not work (mostly it turned out better than expected!), and they came right back to repair a broken tile that apparently happened during the bathroom installation. Caroline was also able to tell us that the kitchen job we requested (new counter tops) would not be cost-effective as it would affect the plumbing and existing counters, so her recommendation was to leave it "as is" for now. Not to their financial benefit, but a good decision and we appreciated her honesty. Very pleased with the workmanship and good communication. read more

We had John Dolan install granite counters and tile back splash in our kitchen, as well as quartz counters on our bathroom vanities. Throughout the process they were helpful, encouraging, and patient as we painstakingly made our choices. All the counters fit perfectly and were expertly installed. The back splash, which was a bit of a challenge to finish on the edges, came out looking very professional and has received compliments from everyone who has seen it (including professionals). After 15 years in our house, we finally decided on a backsplash for the kitchen. After talking with several other contractors to no avail, we worked with Lorraine from John Dolan Flooring. Lorraine was very professional, came up with a fair price, and good timing to have the work done. Steve and Tyler, the installers, were prompt, professional, excellent installers, and all around nice guys. The backsplash came out great, we are very happy with how it looks. It's 3x9 subway tile, Travertine, and somewhat complex, however, Steve and Tyler made it look easy. We will definitely look to John Dolan for future work. read more
