I crave their chicken salad wrap. It's the best thing on the menu and the only thing I order when I go.

Subs are reasonably cheap. Had pickle chips. The music is kinda loud. My sub didn't come out correctly once, but has been great ever since

So I was honestly back and forth between 2 and 3 stars on this one. I hadn't been here in close to…read morea decade, if not longer, and came here with a friend on a Friday night. The place was pretty steady in the bar area but not crazy packed. I get that this is a local spot, and I love supporting my local businesses, but this one was a bit uncomfortable. Everybody in there stared at us as we walked in and walked around the bar to find a table. Like long stares that followed us as we moved around. We both commented on it as we took our seats. I've been to places that obviously have a regular crowd when I'm clearly an outsider, but they've at least been nice and welcoming. This didn't feel that way. Nobody outwardly acted like they wanted us to leave or anything, but it was still really weird. We each ordered a beer and took some time to look over the menu. They have a lot of options, and we both each decided to go with the smaller 7" pizza. I love that they do have a smaller pizza option for an individual, but so often I find the "personal" pizzas might feed a small toddler, but certainly not an adult who loves pizza. This was a lovely size and I was full when done. Each pizza came out on the kind of paper plate you might buy at the grocery store. We both thought our pizzas tasted like a frozen pizza you might buy at the grocery store, but honestly I really love frozen pizza so I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way. Nothing remarkable, but it was good and I ate my whole pizza. It was a torrential downpour while we were there, so we were considering getting another drink and trying to wait it out. But then our server dropped off our bill without saying anything else or asking if there was anything else we needed. We already felt a bit outsider-ish and this was just kind of the final reminder that we weren't regulars here so we decided to pay the bill and go. While this wouldn't be my first option to come back to, I'd happily eat here again if someone else wanted to drop in.

I grew up on this pizza, and I still buy it every time I can when I go home to visit. The delicious recipe hasn't changed, but maybe it's only gotten better. They don't deliver, but the service, whether it's takeout or dine in, is always with a smile. The ambiance isn't modern, but it's homey and comfortable. We always order the Spartan deluxe, enjoy.

Ok. So I've lived here for 10 years and every single Saturday I take my sons out for breakfast. And…read morewe have tried almost all of them in Dane County. And this was recommended early on. And it's close to our house. And I drove past it for years. To Koffee Kup. To Pancake Cafe. To Luke's. All great. I didn't go here because in the boys' words it "looked sus". And it does. It looks like a divey bar on the outside. And unsurprisingly it is on the inside too. But What it IS is amazing food wise. Everyone talks about the French toast. Having never had RumChata in a cocktail I can't comment but that toast is OFF THE CHARTS. But so is the biscuits and gravy. A ton of meat. Service is strained but lovely. And when you see what that cook is working with you're even more impressed. A 6'X4' cooking station and you make this? Wow. My only complaint is the bacon. Not great. Not actually good. Worth a drive to Wittenberg to buy cases of odd cut Nueskes and this place is almost James Beard Award worthy. Appearances are deceiving. Do it!

As you enter, there is a decent sized bar off to your right with a few high top tables. To your left is the dining room, which is cozy and intimate. Someone at a table near us was having what looked like a margarita, and that made me want a margarita. So, instead of getting a bottle of wine, we both got a margarita. It was not what the other person was drinking, but oh my was this one of the best margaritas I've had in recent memory! It was SO good. It had a lot of ice in it, so next time I might ask for it straight up just so I can savor it and not let the ice water it down. We also had delicious bread brought to the table with a plate of olive oil and balsamic. The bread was cut into nice little pieces, was warm, and had a delightful texture where the outside was slightly crisped but not enough to impede your bite and the inside was just warm and soft. The have a nice, varied menu and it was hard to decide what to get. I was really craving marinara sauce, so I ended up going with the Cappellaci Di Salsiccia which was a meat and cheese enclosed pasta with marinara. And it was delicious. It also came out very beautifully plated. My dining mate ordered the Penne Pollo e Pesto and loved it. I'm not wild about pesto, but had to sample a bit and the way the pesto clung to the penne was really tasty. They also have a ragu lasagna and chicken piccata on their menu that I can't wait to try. As we were leaving, I saw a sign with two of their featured fall cocktails and both sounded incredible. I will have to be back for all of these things!!

Each came with a choice of lobster bisque soup or crostini with lox and other yummy toppings as the first course. Dessert was panna cotta or tiramisu, and both were excellent. But what I was really impressed with was the service. Even with a full dining room, everyone was on their game and provided a great experience. If you haven't eaten at Fratelli's, make a point of visiting there. You won't be disappointed.
