Pozole was scrumptiousAlso had the 3 carnitas which was plenty by itself. All the food was lil heavy handed on the salt. Eating the pozole after a few bites and two tacos later I was full. Plentyful portions. I would definitely go in next time and re try the pozole.. read more

If you want to spend over $50 for amateur tacos come here. My boyfriend and I love trying new restaurant and love tacos so when we spotted this place on yelp we decided to check it out. Although this place wasn't horrible, it wasn't worth the price and we definitely won't be coming back. Let's start with the tacos, the menu caters to those that are meat free. There are less meat options than the veggie combinations; but not a problem for us! If the taco is good then it's good. I went with the shrimp tacos and my beau decided on the carnitas tacos. The shrimp tacos were flavorful, but each taco had 2 tiny shrimps for $12 plus tax I ended up paying about ~$2 per shrimp, a little steep in my opinion. The carnitas tacos were okay, the pork was a little dry and not enough condiments for the amount of meat. The condiments (sauces) were all so bland and tasted gross, no flavor at all. We didn't get any limes... what place doesn't give lime for its tacos?! The drinks (we got 2 horchatas and a tecate michelada) were also so grossss! The horchata was so watered down and had no flavor. It tasted like it was just a mix of water and milk and sugar. I took a sip of the michelada and decided I do better without, their house spice mix taste nothing like a traditional michelada. The whole time there we felt rushed to open up the table for other people. The only positive were the churros with the chocolate sauce, they were warm, crunchy on the ends, but real soft and yummy in the middle! Their other dessert wasn't all that great. read more

Rocket taco is nice if you're looking for a casual and fast restaurant for a quick bite. The tacos though seemingly small are loaded with toppings to fill you up sufficiently. The drinks are great and atmosphere is good for a brief but delicious meal with friends or family. read more

We only got dessert from here but let me tell you, the place is super cute inside and the staff was very friendly. We got all 3 desserts they offer and the key lime pie was the winner. So good. The churros were good too, just not as light and fluffy as the ones I've had before. The mousse was ok. Not my favorite but had a subtle heat that was nice! read more

I've visited this location and the Whidbey island location. Great spot on the already really cute 19th. I've tried the tacos and breakfast burrito and have loved them all. I don't think you can actually order wrong here. And don't forget to order the chips and guacamole!!! (And the pickled onions!!) read more

Yummy tacos and sauces. I do wish they let us order mix and match instead of having to order three of one kind. That's why the ding in a star. You order at counter and it's no frills menu pretty straight forward seating - except there is a bar and booths on one side with a TV to watch the Mariners win! Yes, I said WIN! I will be back. And I'll re-review after a few more times under my belt. Tasty tacos....delicious guacamole and salsa. read more

Very solid sweet potato tacos. Chill atmosphere. Friendly. Walk up ordering feels very casual, but it actually works. The previous two restaurants at this spot consistently struggled with service - order at the counter seems to keep food coming out quickly, and the staff is attentive. It's not what I would have predicted for this space, but it works. Cheery, relaxed and most of all, delicious. I'll bbe back. read more

This place is really awesome!!! For $9 you can get three great tacos and a side of Smokey pinto beans. Tortillas are handmade, so are the hot sauces. All the filling are delicious and there is plenty of vegetarian options. I work across the street and am SO happy to have a friendly, not absurdly priced lunch option on the block. Please stay forever!!!!!! read more

Flavorful, thoughtfully prepared and with a variety of vegetarian options. Service is very friendly and quick... Place is clean. DELICIOUS! Great service, welcoming vibe. You can order ahead for pick up, too. Definitely recommend.

The burritos are small and they will not serve nachos when asked. Service is not good. Don't ask for a tip if you want me to clean up the table. read more

Great food and great value! I had the taco salad with fish and shared a chicken quesadilla. I was pleasantly surprised by how much chicken there was in the quesadilla! I topped it all off with a Michelada which was more heavy on the beer making it light and fizzy! This place is a welcome and much needed addition to 19th, a place that is casual with fast service and a neighborhood feel. I will definitely be coming back! read more

We really enjoyed our rocket taco dinner albeit I wish we went for happy hour. I ordered the deluxe beef tacos and they were both filling and delicious. The house margarita was great as was the featured frozen melon (usually not a frozen drink guy). The chips were a little lacking of flavor but they paired well with then guacamole. I'd say, toss a bottle of hot sauce on the table and we are good. read more

Ive been a weekly regular here for a while, I live within walking distance and I have noticed obvious shrinkflation hit here. I always get the Chorizo Potato tacos and not too long ago these came dripping with golden meat au ju but lately the amount of chorizo has been drastically cut with potato and taco have been dry. I just made a trip and the tortillas are dry and stiff too, that's a first. I appreciate all who work here staff is awesome but the food quality has become mediocre over time. Good reminder Carmello's on Cap Hill does not skimp on chorizo. Please Rocket Taco make em drip read more

Let's start with this: I don't like Tacos, mostly because they're messy and hard to eat (don't judge me). But my wife does, so we came here... twice now. And I have to say, it's worth it. Prices are obviously great, so let's get that out of the way. The staff is super friendly, takes time to chat about the menu, give recommendations, and just all in all helpful. The Tacos are flavorful and wrapped in one of the best tortillas I had. Atmosphere is good too, especially for a casual dinner out with friends. We went through their entire Taco menu by now and they are all worth trying. There can be a bit of a wait on the weekends, but nothing crazy. I still don't like Tacos, but if I have to have them at Rocket Taco. read more

This is my favorite taco place with great service and a fun atmosphere. Best Taco salad I've ever had!

Super great tacos with amazing tortillas and top-notch guacamole. Really enjoy the atmosphere, and strong service. Some of the menu choices are a little sub-optimal (three taco minimum is a little weird, for example). But on the whole, this place is great and a welcome addition to the Hilltop neighborhood. read more

Love the atmosphere and the selection. A big fan of fish Tacos and these are great. We all got our tacos Deluxe style and the were delicious. Also had the salad with fish and that was great too! Really friendly and helpful staff. I like that you bus your own tables and everything is compostable. So nice to have these tacos on Capitol Hill! read more

Some of the best Mexican food since we left LA- great for takeout in these weird times.

Great food, fast service! Seattle needs more relaxed places like this where you can be seated immediately on a Friday night and don't have to wait forever for food. They have great vegetarian options too! Loved the vibe of the place and the food. read more

This has quickly become one of my favorite taco joints. I will say, I was a bit dismayed at first when I HAD to order 3 of the same and if there is ONE piece of feedback I'd give them is to open that up to allow a variety but my goodness... the flavors! I love their homemade tortillas, their dairy free horchata is my fave horchata I've ever had and is creamy as all get out. I've never gotten anything other than a deluxe so I can't speak to the simpler tacos but the flavor combinations they have in their tacos are so delicious. Not only that but the staff is incredibly wonderful and I felt like family as soon as I walked in the door my 2nd time...I can't NOT go back. I'm there usually at least once a week and love it so. Oh and the churros w/ chocolate dipping sauce is ridiculously amazing. Definitely check this place out and since so many of the tacos are amazing, it just means multiple trips to try them all but that's not such a bad thing. read more

Well I go to Rocket SO MUCH that I'm actually starting to wear my kids out; but really where else can I get the best Taco's, a great glass of Red and lively/friendly service for such a great value? I love this place. Also worth noting that I'm a (nearly vegan) vegetarian and their sweet potato/black bean taco's are strait from heaven. read more

Unfortunately this place didn't cut it for me. I had high hopes after hearing about how great this place is, but I think people are just desperate for something good to go into that space. Was it terrible, no. Was it great, no. It was just your average taco joint. The tacos didn't have a lot of flavor, so adding their sauces was a must. Ordered the deluxe carnitas and the fish tacos and they were...meh. The queso and drinks were the tastiest part of the meal. read more

Tacos are served in sets of 3 and they must all be the same flavor! There are a number of great taco places in Seattle and they don't make this arbitrary restriction. I don't have time for Fascist crap like this. I walked out. read more

The good: Good service at the register. I had the potato chorizo tacos and they were tasty. As was the queso. My friend had the pozole and said it was ok but a little bland. We both enjoyed our cocktails. The bad: The chips-seemed to come from a bag. If they were house made it was hard to tell. The salsas are terrible and didn't add much heat or flavor. Thankfully the tacos held up on their own, but I would have loved some heat. The ugly: Why was there an employee polishing silverware right across from us as we sat at the bar? Also, what's up with the bar? The metal bar that separates it from the rest of the room is SO CLOSE to the actual bar that I had to squeeze past my friend to get out, so thankfully we are good friends. Also, we would have had another cocktail had there been bar service. Highly recommend that if you have a bar, you have bar service. The service situation there is just confusing. Overall it's ok. Not really a destination but since we live nearby I will probably return at some point. read more

We ordered food to-go here and they were so fast and friendly! Even during the evening time dinner rush. Their portions (although slightly pricey) were good and the beans that came with the tacos were tasty. I'd recommend grabbing extra of their green salsa. It tastes delicious on the carnitas. The guacamole could use a little salt, but we mixed in some of the salsa and it worked out perfectly. read more

Cool place and nice staff so I'll give it 3 stars but these aren't tacos my friend. Then there's the chips. No restaurant should ever serve these over fried puffy salty chips. I love the decor, and it's in a cool spot but it's not for me sorry. read more

Great food, interesting healthy ingredients. Kinda small portions for the price, but so goes Seattle.

Great takeout service, presentation (even for takeout) and overall food quality. I was also very impressed by their versatile and unique food menu with 3 vegetarian taco options! We ordered online which was VERY easy and very quick. One order of fish tacos (no coconut crema), one order of quinoa and lentil tacos and their guacamole and chips. You can't mix and match tacos but their tacos are sturdy enough you can easily cut them in half to share more ;) Both tacos were very tasty and had enough seasoning. If you ask for hot sauce you get three salsas..we loved the green one and the chipotle one. We will be back and plan on getting the family meal...we can't wait! I have two recommendations that I hope will only improve the ordering for all. 1- Describe what is in the beans, please. They say Smokey beans with no description. I didn't want them because I didn't know if they would have bacon or dairy in them. From the looks of the menu it seems as though the chef is catering to all diets, but you can't tell there. 2-offer another option to replace the beans instead of chips. Maybe the quinoa/lentil mixture or mixed greens for us non dairy/meat eating folks that are already ordering chips and guacamole ;) Overall, really great place!! Thank you. read more

Went here for brunch and had their juevos rancheros, chorizo potato tacos, churro waffles and mango mimosa. I would highly recommend it! The food was very good and the staff is super friendly. I was excited for another taco place because well, tacos. Unfortunately, Rocket Taco disappointed. We visited last week around 7:30pm on a weeknight. There was only 1-2 tables full and no one at the line to order. When I asked the staff at the cashier what's in the Horchata (since the sign said "dairy free!"), he said he didn't know. He wasn't inclined to ask anyone either. I decided not to get it. Then, while looking at the menu, I had a question about what "Chorizo Potato" was. Is it a potatoes with chorizo spice? It is potato-shaped chorizo? Is it chorizo + potatoes? The staff person again said he didn't know. He just shrugged and didn't even seem bothered that he works there and doesn't know anything about the menu. Annoyed, I asked him to ask someone since I INDEED WANTED TO KNOW (hence asking). He finally did ask, and told me that it's chorizo + potatoes. Dear business owner, could you please train your staff people to know what's on the menu to be able to answer basic questions? And maybe have a better attitude? We ordered: -Pork Carnitas Tacos (classic): 3 for $9 -Beef Tacos (deluxe): 3 for $12 The tacos were pretty bleh. After I drenched mine in salsa, it helped. The "Deluxe" tacos didn't really taste deluxe in any way. I'm not sure it's worth it for the price when Tacos Chukis is just a few blocks away. We will not be coming back. Note: There was one staff person (brown hair, maybe a man bun?) we interacted with who was very helpful, nice, and friendly. He brought us a couple things like salsas and answered questions. Thank you! read more

Sounds great on paper but ... happy hour margarita was made with the worse mix so ordered the Pineapple spicy Mezcal drink which was excellent and then they informed me it was the last one! It's Friday night at 6pm. There were 3 of us and since the tacos come in threes, we tried chicken, beef and carnitas. The carnitas was the best with pickled red onions and guacamole. The beef and chicken has the same greasy sauce that made it very messy. read more

Heard about this place so had to check it out. Very good! Loved the vegetarian options. I had the cauliflower and chickpea tacos, yum! Next time I go I am getting the quinoa lentil salad (you can make any taco a salad or quesadilla) that my daughter got. It was delicious. Only bummer is that you can not mix and match your tacos. Each plate comes with three and you have to get the same for all three. Beans on the side were nice as well. The others at our table had the carne asada , chorizo and potato, and sweet potato and black beans. Everyone agrees this place is delicious. You will have to pay for chips and pico if you want that on the side. Will be returning. read more

We live in the neighborhood and like everyone else, were waiting anxiously to see who moved in to the old Kingfish Cafe space. When we saw the Rocket Taco signs first put up we both said to each other, "Tacos?! Duh! Why didn't we think of that?!" I hoped and prayed that it would be as good as the other amazing local businesses on this block and when we first came in for dinner last night, I was FAR from disappointed. Homemade tortillas, plenty of veggie options, carnitas to die for, fresh squeezed margaritas, and a cool atmosphere?! Someone pinch me because this must be a dream. I'm only semi-embarrassed to admit that I'm back again today to try the fish tacos with coconut crema and pineapple salsa. Blown away AGAIN today with the friendly staff and perfect tacos. This is precisely what Seattle needed and I will surely be a weekly visitor. Bravo, Rocket Taco! read more
