My daughter always asks to go to park st so she can visit her favorite candy store, Rocket Fizz! I'm 33 and it's nice to go down memory lane seeing all the candies we grew up in the 90s/early 2000s. The price isn't cheap but not expensive, we consider it pretty affordable actually for the experience our kids seldom get to enjoy since there aren't many candy stores that exist now. We got our kids $0.99 candy necklaces, and the largest lollipop in the store at $7.99, so there are a lot of options depending on your budget. The ambiance is good, aisles is wide enough for me to use our stroller inside. The owner who is shown at the register looks intimidating but I promise he's really kind! We make it our mission to stop by every time we're in town. Highly recommend!

This little shop is such a gem! I adore the nostalgic feel and the vast variety of retro sodas, candies, gifts, and toys. Rocket Fizz gives me happy feelings every time I visit. I think I love it more than my kids do. Haha! Oh, and the cashier (who may also be the owner?) is always polite and friendly. Always a pleasure to shop here!

I am hosting a birthday part and I wanted to get tons of unique beverages so I drove almost 2 hours to check this place out. I had been looking for drinks for the party online and they were somewhat difficult to find and very pricy so I sent a message to the yelp page asking some questions, but I was disappointed that I never received a response. When I arrived in the area, traffic was terrible and parking was non-existent, so if you are coming from a ways off like I was, just be ready for that. I brought a backpack and some carrying bags in anticipation of all the things I was going to buy but when I got to the door, there was a sign that advised "no pets allowed". I always travel with my small dog (one of the questions I asked in my message btw) and we were not about to leave her in the car, so my husband put her in a carrying satchel and I walked in to the store. I immediately started putting items into a cart and once my husband got our pup all zipped in, her entered behind me. I will be honest, the proprietor got up from his chair and it appeared he was going to approach my husband, however I put more items in my cart as I chatted to my husband and when the owner realized we were together, he sat back down. We must have browsed that tiny store for an hour. It's unbelievable how much they have in such a small space. I was able to get dozens of fun, unique beverages for less than half of what I would have paid online. (Honestly, when you add in my gas and time, I probably came out even but the adventure and being able to physically see the items was well worth it). The gentleman working was very friendly to me. He put all my drinks into carriers and helped me get them into my bags and backpack. He never said a word about my dog, but keep in mind I spent a good amount of money, so I would definitely not call this store "dog friendly". Overall, I am really glad I came. This store would be great for anyone looking for unique beverage flavors or bottles as well as any candy lover. They had lots of cute items on offer and prices were very reasonable. I might not make the drive again just for this but I will definitely return whenever I am in the area.

    Who pays $114.20 in candy????

I went in there because I was craving some candy. The whole time the owners wife (I'm assuming) was following me through out the store thinking I was going to steal. I made it a point that I was not going to steal by holding my hands out and showing what I was grabbing. When I went and paid the total was $14.20 I paid and he asked if I wanted a receipt I told him no (my mistake) because the total was small. He ended up charging me $114.20. I realized it 2 hours later and went back to the store. He was rude and seemed like he didn't want to refund the money. I told him I'll call my bank now and dispute it. He then went and checked and took the merchandise and refunded the money. The whole time he had attitude when it was his mistake. Don't go here if you wanna be profiled

Rocket Fizz is a nice place to pick up one's favorite artisan soda pop, kit kats and other asian candies, american bulk candies and candy bars, just don't bring ur kids or any kids at all. they will want to try everything! candy doesn't do anything for me except rotting my teeth. picked up 6 sodas (10.99 + fees) for when i have a carving for a soda.

Love these new Kit Kat flavors imported from Japan!

This candy store has been such a great addition to Park Street! There's such a great collection of classic candies and new stuff. There is literally something for everyone. My husband gets the bib candy by the pound which include an array of lollipops, tootsie rolls, starbursts, and salt water taffy. I'm a big fan of chocolate so all the imported Kit Kat is my jam! Also all the fun energy drinks. Open during Covid Times with wearing and social distancing inside the store. Hand sanitizer available!

Date: 6/27/2019 Time: 2:50 PM 69° Partly sunny About 1-1/2 month ago I stopped in at Rocket Fizz out of curiosity. I just browsed briefly, took a few photos and left within three minutes. The ET statue was cute, but I was not ready to do a review at the time. On my second visit, I had a little more time on hand to look at the assortments of candy, bottled sodas, nostalgic posters and the plushies. I like the salt water taffy candy in several different flavors in the bins and the boxes of candy on display. Alas, due to health reasons, I cannot buy the sweets to consume. I have to tell myself I'm already sweet enough and don't need the added sugar. For me, it's diabetic coma if I bought bags of candy and eat them everyday. However, they have sugar free candy in a few small bins. I bought 15 pieces. It was pricey, 15¢ for one piece of candy. Total: $2.25. On the other hand, the assortment of the bulk candy would be good for filling up a piñata for children's birthday parties.

I tried the s'mores one not really knowing what to expect, but it ended up being a pleasant surprise. The marshmallow had this light, fluffy texture that paired really nicely with the cookie crumble on top, it gave it just the right mix of soft and crunchy. One thing to keep in mind, these are best enjoyed fresh. Once you take them home and stick them in the fridge, the toppings can start to harden and the overall texture isn't quite the same. So if you can, dig in right away. The spot itself is easy to miss, it's tucked into a little nook along Bay Street, right across from Jars. Definitely worth seeking out if you're in the area.

At least to me. The Dubai Chocolate Chewy Cookie is only available Friday-Sunday and is $7.75 each. Good crispy-creamy texture (toasted kataifi and pistachio cream) but no stretchy pull, nor chewy bite...the marshmallow exterior was like dry, stale playdough. The cocoa powder was not bitter enough so it was hella sweet compared to the ones from Korean bakeries. Their candied apples looked great tho and ideal gift of nostalgia for your loved ones!

For those who don't know what the Dubai chocolates are, they are milk chocolates filled with shredded phyllo dough and pistachio cream. My first impression was whether or not I had walked into an art gallery or a confectionary shop. Uh...turns out both! According to their website, the owner and her partner were originally artists prior to becoming chocolatiers. This place just screams creativity and their chocolates are ethically-sourced and almost too pretty to eat. They even have a backroom gallery to showcase local artists' confectionary-inspired works. We couldn't find the Dubai chocolates, but one of the employees approached us and asked if we needed any assistance. Turns out they were in the back and they had just received a shipment! The Dubai chocolates were nutty, crunchy, flaky, and velvety all in one! Pricey, but worth trying. Also, might I just take a moment to say I absolutely adore the shop's name! It almost looks like "XO Chocolate" as in kisses and hugs, bu also reminded me of the language of the ancient Latin American civilizations and - fun fact - Xocolatl (you see the play on words?) means chocolate (literally means "bitter water") back when they would mix purely cocoa and water as a drink. If I'm not mistaken, this business is Latina-owned, so perhaps that was intention? So clever and, either way, kudos to them!
