    Plenty of funk pops!
    Nina M.

As many have stated it is a fun candy store in a busy area. They have a variety of candy options form gummies to hard candy that taste decent. In addition along the walls they have different merchandise ranging from pop culture items to candy merchandise. Keep in mind it is pricey for a candy store $$$$

    Breakfast anyone?

I think this place is so cute. Due to Coronavirus, there is no more 'pay by weight'. Everything is prepacked. So if you want a little bit of this and a little bit of that, you are out of luck. What i like about this store is they sell candy in ridiculous sizes. Huge gummy bears, giant cany bars and whip length candy ropes and necklaces. This is a great place to treat a child on your good list.

Fun candy shop at Bay Street Emeryville. I came in for some candy but there is so much more! They have a lot of pop culture items here from Harry Potter Butter beer and chocolate frogs to stranger things sweets. There is such variety here! You can get astronaut ice cream to cereals and mugs. Pretty much a wonderland for the young and young at heart!

Lots of options for candies. Even pocky sticks and mochi. But just a bit pricy in my opinion

Oh gosh It's Sugar - what you do! You bring out the sugar monster in me! Lol I love how they have the nifty containers you can fill for $9.99! Nom nom nom! Staff in there is always friendly (I think I would be too with all that candy hehe) .. Not a place I frequent only because I TRY to limit my sugar intake and don't live close to here but OMG when I am nearby the sugar monster comes to play

We should have come here BEFORE the show! I'm a huge fan of sweets and this store is my kind of place! Since we did come by after the show, we were delighted to see that they were still open. But it did look like it was the end of their day and we checked to see if it was okay to come in. About 3 employees chimed together "Come on inside!" My Carl and I entered expecting to see the usual assortment of bulk candy. We did scoop a few favorites into a bag and found some unusual suspects as well. A super funny card to send to a friend and a great journal with words of wisdom. Very friendly, helpful and gracious folks work here. There were some retro items, but nothing that wowed us. We will stop in here again, especially before the show!

It' SUGAR is a cute shop aimed mainly for younger kids, however, I ended up in this place. It'SUGAR has so many different types of products from the conventional candy, to toys, and candy logo apparel. I was in search for chocolate gummy bears but all I could locate mini gummy bears to large bears on a stick. To no avail, the chocolate covered gummy bears were sold out. The sales rep. offered some other alternatives like skittles, asian candy, and sour patch. It'SUGAR is a place where you can feel like a kid again and definitely just being in here give me a toothache.

    Rock candy!

"It's like candy, I can feel it when you walk, Even when you talk it takes over me, You're so dandy, I want to know, Can you feel it too just like I do, OOOOoooooo ". IT'SUGAR is exactly what you would expect! This place took me back to my childhood with it's assortment of candy ranging from; rock candy, wax bottles, bubble gum cigarettes, sour gummy worms, sweethearts, sugar babies, pop rocks, seriously the list goes on and on. You can also find a variety of interesting novelties, toys, and action figures. If you are a Harry Potter or Star Wars fan you will definitely find a few cool collector items. If you are looking for the average gift that is not so average, this is your spot. I saw some pretty funny coffee mugs and gag gifts that probably shouldn't be so out in the open. I get it, IT'SUGAR wants to appeal to adults, but candy thongs and bras in an area easily accessible by children is a bit weird to me. Overall, I get why IT'SUGAR is a popular spot in Emeryville. If you need a little sugar rush or you're just looking to indulge, this is totally the place for you. The main reason why I am giving 3 stars is because their customer service was pretty much non-existent and they don't have much of a selection in terms of chocolate candy. IT'SUGAR has sooooo much going on, I think a little more organization could really go a long way!

For those who don't know what the Dubai chocolates are, they are milk chocolates filled with shredded phyllo dough and pistachio cream. My first impression was whether or not I had walked into an art gallery or a confectionary shop. Uh...turns out both! According to their website, the owner and her partner were originally artists prior to becoming chocolatiers. This place just screams creativity and their chocolates are ethically-sourced and almost too pretty to eat. They even have a backroom gallery to showcase local artists' confectionary-inspired works. We couldn't find the Dubai chocolates, but one of the employees approached us and asked if we needed any assistance. Turns out they were in the back and they had just received a shipment! The Dubai chocolates were nutty, crunchy, flaky, and velvety all in one! Pricey, but worth trying. Also, might I just take a moment to say I absolutely adore the shop's name! It almost looks like "XO Chocolate" as in kisses and hugs, bu also reminded me of the language of the ancient Latin American civilizations and - fun fact - Xocolatl (you see the play on words?) means chocolate (literally means "bitter water") back when they would mix purely cocoa and water as a drink. If I'm not mistaken, this business is Latina-owned, so perhaps that was intention? So clever and, either way, kudos to them!
