My cousin and I went in here just to look around. We didn't purchase anything. Everything looked yummy to our tummies though! I saw so many gummies I wanted. I resisted. I need to lose a whole person. The weight gain is so real! read more

This is a high-end candy store. The prices are high, but the selection is ample. They have some unique items here that are hard to obtain. Like large size candy bars. The staff is helpful and the location is fun because it's right in the main courtyard area at the Bay Street mall. The ambience inside the place is festive and child like, which is appropriate. read more

I think this place is so cute. Due to Coronavirus, there is no more 'pay by weight'. Everything is prepacked. So if you want a little bit of this and a little bit of that, you are out of luck. What i like about this store is they sell candy in ridiculous sizes. Huge gummy bears, giant cany bars and whip length candy ropes and necklaces. This is a great place to treat a child on your good list. read more

Fun candy shop at Bay Street Emeryville. I came in for some candy but there is so much more! They have a lot of pop culture items here from Harry Potter Butter beer and chocolate frogs to stranger things sweets. There is such variety here! You can get astronaut ice cream to cereals and mugs. Pretty much a wonderland for the young and young at heart! read more

Sweet spot! Ha! Pun totally intended!! I come here regularly bc they have one of the biggest gum ball machines and my kid is a very impressionable 5 years old. Cool candy and a fun selection of clothing and things that are candy or peripherally related. Clean, bright, and joyous shop. One of their coolest functional candies is their lego candies. Can actually build with it!! The owner is really nice as is their staff. Glad they're still in business. read more

Walked in for some premovie snacks/fun and gotta shout out Danielle for helping us navigate the difference between the bag and box options for mixing and matching candy. Got the most bang for our buck! All the candy types have clear labels, and the areas were tidy. For sure gonna come back to fill out some future gift bags with cool and funny candy types. Great variety and great customer service. The lady was very sweet lol. She answered all my questions and gave me several recommendations of which gummies to try. I enjoyed a lot of what I bought. Found the store fun and entertaining. Also a lot of sweets I have never seen before. I will definitely come back next time I go to ikea or west elm lol. read more

I was out and about with the bro last night and then we saw this... OMG, I had to drag him here! Bro and I walked in... wow, so this must be what candies are in Willy Wonka world. It was bright and organized and very cool! They have tshirts, chocolate/candy theme merchandise. My favorite: they carry chocolate covered gummi bears! Plus they carry choco mallows... which I got for the S.O. (technically the bro paid for it =)) Overall, friendly workers...and for all you candy freaks... its pretty and colorful but the prices are steep! Just check it out but get your goods at CVS or Walgreens! Will probably go there again just to browse and get choco gummi bears! read more

It' SUGAR is a cute shop aimed mainly for younger kids, however, I ended up in this place. It'SUGAR has so many different types of products from the conventional candy, to toys, and candy logo apparel. I was in search for chocolate gummy bears but all I could locate mini gummy bears to large bears on a stick. To no avail, the chocolate covered gummy bears were sold out. The sales rep. offered some other alternatives like skittles, asian candy, and sour patch. It'SUGAR is a place where you can feel like a kid again and definitely just being in here give me a toothache. read more

It was ok. I just thought it was cool seeing a whole store full of candy. Many kinds of candy, gummies, chocolate, sours, hard candies and more. I went in and bought some strawberry gummies and chocolate covered gummy bears. The price was pretty reasonable and it did help me feel happy to satisfy my sweet tooth. Delicous! read more

Sweet tooth craving? Yes. Any girl or boy, kids or adults, would have a craving for chocolate, lollipops and candies galore! Of course, it's not easy to pass this place when you see it after coming out of Teacake Bake Shop across the street. I couldn't help myself walk towards the display of small, medium and large, including EXTRA JUMBO pack NERDS. Ha! Everything in the store is gravitated towards the idea of candy and chocolate. They have shirts, totes, pillows, and toys that associates with anything sugary-goods! Help yourself to your favorite bags of gummie bears, strawberry sweet and sour straws, tootsie rolls, jelly belly beans, powdered sugar candy, hershey syrup, etc. Be careful, there are kids that will stick their hand in the plastic bins to grab a handful of candy. Make sure to watch your kids and use the ladles to scoop out the amount of candy they want! Also, like any adult will say...don't spoil your appetite! You need to make room for dinner! ;) After a long trip into candyland, I think my inner kid came out of my shell as I took back home all the goodies I've wanted for so long in one bag! read more

While they do have fun selection of candies; Very misleading 50% shelf. Apparently, only a part of the 50% shelf is actually discounted. Masks, gloves and other hygiene standard are not enforced, despite the posters around the store and the checkout, mandating so. Very mean and rude owner lady, yelled at me for insisting I picked it up from 50% basket. read more

"It's like candy, I can feel it when you walk, Even when you talk it takes over me, You're so dandy, I want to know, Can you feel it too just like I do, OOOOoooooo ". IT'SUGAR is exactly what you would expect! This place took me back to my childhood with it's assortment of candy ranging from; rock candy, wax bottles, bubble gum cigarettes, sour gummy worms, sweethearts, sugar babies, pop rocks, seriously the list goes on and on. You can also find a variety of interesting novelties, toys, and action figures. If you are a Harry Potter or Star Wars fan you will definitely find a few cool collector items. If you are looking for the average gift that is not so average, this is your spot. I saw some pretty funny coffee mugs and gag gifts that probably shouldn't be so out in the open. I get it, IT'SUGAR wants to appeal to adults, but candy thongs and bras in an area easily accessible by children is a bit weird to me. Overall, I get why IT'SUGAR is a popular spot in Emeryville. If you need a little sugar rush or you're just looking to indulge, this is totally the place for you. The main reason why I am giving 3 stars is because their customer service was pretty much non-existent and they don't have much of a selection in terms of chocolate candy. IT'SUGAR has sooooo much going on, I think a little more organization could really go a long way! read more

I'M A KID IN A CANDY STOREEEE ! Dropped by Bay Street to kill some time while visiting my friend in Berkely and to my pleasant surprised discovered there was a It's Sugar here. The only other stores I've been to are at Universal City Walk and inside Universal Studios. Immediately walking in the giant NERDS boxes caught my eye. Much smaller than the CityWalk store but is it packed from wall to wall with confectionary goodies. If you're looking for a unique gift or a something different, I'd come to this store. Some of the regular items are overpriced but the speciality items are worth taking a look at. i love this new discovery and definitely will be back !! :] - jenn read more

First of all....I thought this place only existed at SAN JOSE VALLEY FAIR MALL? 1 star for finding another home in Emeryville! 2 stars for placing Helly Kitty items right in front to reel in HK lovers of all ages! 3 stars for having the BEST GUMMY BEARS in a variety of flavors!! Soft and chewy with burst of flavor!! My faves are: Blue Rasberry, Pineapple, and Mango!! Bring back the mango please!!!! 4 stars because you guys make me happy! But you robbed yourself of the 5th star because you do not allow your customers to TRY out the candy. My girlfriend and I are grown a** women - and we got skooled cuz we couldn't "sample" the bears unless we buy. Well honey, how am I suppose to buy if I don't know which ones I like?? MAH BAD! I know the worker didn't mean any harm and was doing her job but honestly, I did walk out of the store purchasing a $12 bag full of bears. I think trying a few flavors isn't gonna break you. Still, my piece of happiness! read more

It's kinda messed up to walk out of Teacake Bake Shop and see IT'SUGAR. Why? Because after buying cookies, I walk in to check it out but end up leaving with a bag full of sour gummy candies. Lots and lots to choose from. If eating sugar is not enough, you can even wear it since they sell clothing too. I like that the bags are resealable because I don't end up with spilled sugar in my purse...stupid twist ties. Self-serve bins...dangerous. It's way too easy to keep filling and filling when your eyes are wider than your stomach. As I sit here writing this review, I'm eating my candy and wishing I bought more. On the other hand, it's probably better I didn't. I have a newly developed love/hate relationship with this store...my tastebuds love it but my muffin top hates it. read more

I'm not too much of a candy girl but there are of course some things I will never pass by :) This place is super cute. Tons of candy and apparel and cute things. The place is well lit and smells soooo good :) Tons of candy and chocolate to choose from. I must say the only thing lacking is mini reeses peanut butter cups which are my FAVORITE :) Maybe they'll get it soon. Horrible service... no one willing to help when you need it , but you make a mistake, they are all over you! Shopping at It'Sugar brings back memories. You can't help but feel nostalgic as you peruse their selection. They have Razzles, Sugar Daddy, Big League Chew, Fruit Stripe Gum, Abba-Zaba, & much more. I bought 3 bags of candy, most filled with my usual picks: coke bottle gummies, sour apple gummies, chocolate covered gummy bears, strawberry puffs, & sour watermelon patches. I also purchased a wide assortment of Jelly Belly and M&M's in 2 custom colors, Tiffany Blue & White. So pretty! Near the cashier was a HUGE gummy bear. I love gummy bears but in this gigantic size it looked kinda gross. Some things are better left mini. ;) Great location and definitely worth checking out before seeing a movie or just to satisfy your sweet tooth. I've had it with this place. I love the concept. I love the candy. 3 of 3 times that I've been there, people are helping themselves to candy with their unsanitary hands digging in the bins. It's not just youngsters, it's thoughtless adults too... read more

Yesterday me & my family stop by to get candy. My daughter 7 years old had picked out her candy, we get to the register & she changed her mind. The young lady at the register had a very awful attitude. Very nasty. A kid in a candy store will always change their mind. Working in a candy store she should know this. As a business Owner in the Oakland area she should be Fired!!! her approach was totally unexpectable . She threw the bag on the counter & did not want to put her candy in the bag. I had to asked her to put the candy in the bag just horrible. Her face was frowned up & how bad, I wanted to give her a piece of my mind about her unprofessional customer service. We just left the store. My daughter cried telling me the lady was very mean. This is not Ok when working with the public. read more

Walking in, I'm already over-stimulated and I haven't even had any of the candy yet. Candy shirts, candy bags, candy magnets, candy everything! Good shop to visit if you are looking for something for anyone in your life that has a serious sweet tooth. read more

This company has an excellent business model that centers around candy and sweet treats and does a great job in properly maintaining this specific "boutique" location, but does also tend to fall short in quite a few areas of business. Starting with the pros, customer service here is awesome; workers are very attentive and knowledgeable about inventory and sale items. This specific location stocks some of the greatest sweet treats around in a variety of sizes, some practical and many that are best suited as a gag gift or collectible. The atmosphere here is always inviting, as you pass by the entrance; the inner fat kid inside of you will be hyperventilating at the sight of sugar and will more than likely want to at least browse the shelves as the scents and sounds draw you in. The cons of this place are an industry standard of this business type;prices and mark ups. Candy is something that we all have at least one memory of from our childhood, and most will reference "penny" candy or affordability when discussing it, but here you must shop with the mentality that your standard dollar store Mike & Ike Or Sour Patch Kids may break the bank or at least put a small scuff in it. read more

$25 A POUND! No, that is not a typo. No, that is not prominently advertised. (My wife came back with a medium-size bag...for $12, same price as our ticket.) Yes, it is a whole store full of candy. Yes, they have a wider selection than the movie theater concession stand. But for that price, one might expect locally-sourced, organic, free-range candy, but this is NOT what you get! The ersatz Raisinets were waxy and flavorless--I stopped eating them before we were even done with the previews in our movie because they were so disappointing. Some of the gummy candies also were substandard, grainy and bland, clearly another case of sourcing low-quality product and taking advantage of a captive audience. I can't believe I'm about to type this sentence, but here goes: save money _and_ get something tastier at the movie theater concession stand! read more

I was very much looking forward to my first visit to this store. I walked in and was immediately struck with joy at the decorations of the mannequins wearing candy clothing. I'm also going home with two marshmallow guns for the best kind of war ever. I might even be able to use them in children's events at my library job.
