The ambiance was bright and cheery. I felt like a kid again in that store . The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. The chocolate was even better! We grabbed a bunch of things, can't wait to try them all! Tip 1: they have individually wrapped samples in the front of the store, which is soooo nice of them! Tip 2: Although you can order their goodies online, there are even more things in store that you might not find elsewhere. So when you pick up your online order, you might end up buying even more!

They're doing a Willy Wonka thing! Five lucky winners get a $50 gift card!? 3 "golden tickets" still hiding when I was there today. The store is so cute. Every single thing they sell here is so giftable, nicely packaged, of higher quality chocolates (fair trade, organic, no preservatives). The staff were super kind and fun to talk to. I got a few things totaling $30-something dollars. Only tried the peanut butter cup so far, can recommend it. Will be back. :)

The candies are all amazing the lemon drops are my favorite! The shop keeper was very helpful when I was looking for specific chocolates. The store is very cute and whimsical and is a great experience if you want to try new candy.

The ambiance & service is exceptional!! Mika is soo helpful and i loved talking to her. She made my experience even better and gave me a little history on the shop!! Their homemade bars are to die for. My favorite though, is the milk chocolate tortoise's they have BTW, there are many vegan options & chocolates from all around the world. Truly an experience! (P.S. Their set up is B E A U T I F U L!!)

Another chocolate shop opens its doors in rockridge! There are now at least 5 in a relatively small radius, not that I'm complaining: one on the corner of College and Ashby that makes a killer Mexican hot chocolate; another (Love and Chocolate) next to Southie on College; The Chocolate Dragon on College by Hudson -- and now Xocolate near the intersection of College Avenue and Chabot, which sits only half a block away from Sees candies. This shop is decidedly fancier than See's (which is often full of school kids buying sweets and treats). This place has chocolate bars that will run you $20-50. They also have a buffet of gourmet treats that mimic the kinds of candies you see in CVS, everything from gourmet milky ways to Reese's peanut butter cups. we have tried a few small samples from this place; it's good, but not better than the high-end chocolates you can get at Whole Foods. That said, always want to extend a warm welcome to new neighbors! If you have a lot of extra cash to burn, high-end chocolates are IN.

I tried the s'mores one not really knowing what to expect, but it ended up being a pleasant surprise. The marshmallow had this light, fluffy texture that paired really nicely with the cookie crumble on top, it gave it just the right mix of soft and crunchy. One thing to keep in mind, these are best enjoyed fresh. Once you take them home and stick them in the fridge, the toppings can start to harden and the overall texture isn't quite the same. So if you can, dig in right away. The spot itself is easy to miss, it's tucked into a little nook along Bay Street, right across from Jars. Definitely worth seeking out if you're in the area.

At least to me. The Dubai Chocolate Chewy Cookie is only available Friday-Sunday and is $7.75 each. Good crispy-creamy texture (toasted kataifi and pistachio cream) but no stretchy pull, nor chewy bite...the marshmallow exterior was like dry, stale playdough. The cocoa powder was not bitter enough so it was hella sweet compared to the ones from Korean bakeries. Their candied apples looked great tho and ideal gift of nostalgia for your loved ones!

This has been on my wanna-try list for ages and I've seen videos too. I had the chance to stop by…read morethis week and it was a lot different than I expected. It's a very small underground-ish area, and there's no seating. You ask the staff for whichever pastries you'd like and they grab it out of the case/fridge for you. Ranked best to worst, we got the: - milkshake pie: omg idk how but it really does taste like a milkshake, coffee base with huge oreo chunks mixed in. brownie crust was quite tough but bottom was compressed oreo - sweet potato cake: yummm, tastes like carrot cake, well spiced, moist - coconut cream pie: not too sweet, big coconut chunks mixed into the base, light, very crumbly crust like loose crumbs - red velvet cake: easily the worst one, dry like a grocery store cake honestly Only issue is these got stale fast, like the cakes weren't moist the next day. Microwaved them to fix that and if you like warm cake then that's a helpful hack. They have a huge variety of desserts, many that I've never heard of or tried so definitely excited to try again.

My interest was piqued when I saw that the location is one of those hidden hole-in-wall spots tucked down a few stairs off of a sidewalk. The interior is super tiny - either 2 people at a time or 1 "group". It's definitely close quarters but I was able to look around at their cases, which still had a decent selection despite it being around 1pm. If I hadn't already eaten lunch, I would've wanted to try their savory croissants. Hopefully next time! The staff were really helpful in answering my questions (what's in the Best Milkshake cheesecake - coffee and oreo, how long will a slice of cheesecake be okay for if not refrigerated - 2 hours, what cookie flavors do you have available). I ended up getting a slice of the Best Milkshake cheesecake, a chocolate espresso cookie, and a cookies and cream cookie. I took the treats back home to Sacramento to split with my husband and we both agreed that they were all amazing! Super glad my coworker told us about Gregory's so we could try it out. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.
