Apparently, according to customer service, because Crumbl uses fresh ingredients daily, it's simply impossible for a customer to receive a stale or poor-quality dessert. That's fascinating logic. I guess customer experiences don't count if they don't fit the script. I've been a loyal customer for years, spending money here at least once or twice a month. Instead of being treated like a valued customer, I was treated like I was on trial. I was repeatedly asked for information, questioned about who I was, had my name misspelled, and the representative couldn't even extend the professional courtesy of identifying themselves. The most disappointing part wasn't even the banana pudding--it was the customer service. Rather than listening and trying to make things right, the response felt defensive, argumentative, and more focused on proving me wrong than resolving the issue. No business is perfect. Products can occasionally miss the mark. What separates a good company from a bad one is how it responds when a customer has a legitimate concern. Crumbl chose to argue instead of listen. If this is how loyal customers are treated over a simple complaint, I'd hate to see how new customers are handled. Hopefully the customer service team spends as much time learning professionalism and accountability as they do insisting that everything is "fresh." First, these cookies from a Utah chain are indeed delicious. They will please those of you who like a fresh, chewy cookie. We had a very tasty Dubai chocolate, Nutella, Oreo, and brookie. They also had classic chocolate chips and snickerdoodles. 6 cookies for $20, okay. Second, the shop is not cute or welcoming. If you are looking for a place where you can sit and eat your cookie, keep walking. It's a big pink and gray space, without tables or chairs or stools or even a counter. It is both institutional and yet not sparkling clean. You order at a kiosk, no welcoming, no fun music, no sense of place. Just hang out awkwardly, looking for something to look at. Crumble is always a good little treat to go have but from the times I came into this location. I always get a sense of unprofessionalism. I understand it's mostly students working there but at the same time it's still a job. I just haven't had a good experience out of all the times I've came to pick up my orders from there. On top of that last time I was there I got the banana pudding instead of the employees getting me my order. They were doing way too much flirting with their friends that was there trying to get free cookies. I finally tried Crumbl last month. Got 2 classics, chocolate chip and a brownie cookie with fudge frosting. I was surprised how much I liked them. I was expecting to be disappointed but both were very fresh, chewy, good sized and appropriately priced. I didn't finish them but the next day what was left of each, were still fresh, chewy and tasty. They have very creative flavors and I think change weekly, with a few mainstays. I might venture out and try more of their weekly special flavors next. Can't go wrong with classic chocolate chip and chocolate chocolate chip. read more

Opening day at Crumbl today! My colleague and I decided to have cookies for breakfast so we were excited - and it delivered! There were a lot of staff (maybe 18) this day and I guess they way they work is they have a rotating weekly menu that they sell from. We decided to try - Peanut Butter Munch, Oatmeal Mallow Sandwich, Semi Chocolate Chunk, and Chocolate Green Mint. All were thick, soft, and best of all lots of toppings - including icing (the best part!). There aren't seating to eat inside, but it's pretty warm inside so I wouldn't recommend it anyway. I came by to redeem the grand opening promo and the workers were rude and said they stopped accepting it 2 days ago because too many people were "abusing" the system by downloading the app just for the free cookie. I'm sorry but I thought that was the point of having a grand opening promotion?? I had the promo redeemed on my app for over a week but only had the chance to come by recently due to my busy schedule. I understand not accepting the code on the app anymore but for those who have already received the QR code before the code stopped working I feel like it was unfair. After standing in line 15+ minutes, my place in line is just at the door when they announce, "That's it, no more orders, it's 10 o'clock." Mind you, there was still a long line behind me extending past the storefront. I said to one of the workers, "Why don't you give people a heads-up? Like, make an announcement, 5-10 minutes before you close." She replied they were all tired, they'd had a long day, and then pointed to a little paper sign in the window with the hours and said, "it's posted." That's as customer-repelling an answer as you can get! The little posting in the window had been covered up by all the people standing in front of it! It was on me to notice it? (And as I hadn't had a long day too? Should I thank Crumbl for deigning to sell me big, overpriced cookies?) Maybe it's just as well. While I was waiting in line, I asked the guy in front of me if he tried them before, and he said, "Yeah. They're pretty sweet and they're really big." Listen, if I'm writing this, it's because the service and quality were straight trash. I pulled up the day before Thanksgiving to grab my order: two Oreo cream pies, a Key Lime pie, and a pecan pie I placed through the app. First off, one of the employees had a whole attitude, but I let it slide. People have bad days, right? But then I see them opening boxes for other customers, showing them their orders, making sure everything looks good. When it's my turn, they just toss me closed boxes and keep it moving.Something told me to check the boxes before I left, and sure enough, the Oreo pies were all wrong. Barely any Oreo, just whipped cream. I've had these from Vacaville and Concord, so I know what they're supposed to look like. When I went back to point it out, the worker tried to gaslight me, saying, "That's how they're made." Nah, stop playing.Then I asked for a refund, and the energy got worse. They hit me with, "You have to email the owner; we can't do refunds here." Make that make sense.Bottom line: this spot ain't it. Poor service, lazy prep, and bad attitudes. I'll stick to Vacaville or Concord--they know how to treat people and get it right. I don't think there could be a worse place to put a crumbl. I was really excited when I found out there was crumbl in Berkeley but I was quickly disappointed once I saw where it was located. There is no parking anywhere near the building you have to park a couple blocks down and most of it is student or visitors parking for the college. read more
