First time and it won't be my last. We came here last night with friends before a concert at White Oak Music Hall. The location is great for a pre-concert meal. Everything about this place makes me want to go back and make sure this place gets more recognition. From the cozy interior to the nice patio, this small establishment is very nice and unpretentious. The food was excellent as well as the service. I'll admit I did some Yelp stalking in advance of our visit and nothing disappointed. We started with the scampi and bruschetta appetizers. The shrimp was cooked well and in a fantastic white wine sauce (5/5). The bruschetta was great! I have to say that pictures of this appetizer don't do it justice. The balance of tomato, basil, garlic and balsamic were a great combination. We couldn't stop eating it (5/5). It looks basic but it isn't. For entrees, we had the chicken parmigiana with fettuccine Alfredo (5/5). The pasta was the perfect al dente with one of the better Alfredo sauces I've had. The chicken was nicely prepared and the RED SAUCE, oh my. Just a damn good meal and the proportion was big. The couple with us split the same entree and I think they win since I had about half left. I felt bad leaving it but we were headed to a concert. My wife had the Capellini San Marco, which was a nice extension of the scampi appetizer. We think it had the same sauce with the addition of capers, spinach and mushrooms (5/5). The wine list is a good selection of mid-range wines from all the standard regions - Italy, Argentina, Napa, etc. We had a Sauvignon Blanc and Chianti that were both ~$30. Good value here. Overall, an excellent start to our night. We are already talking about hosting a birthday dinner here in the next month. If you live nearby, are going to White Oak for a concert or simply looking for something different - go. You won't regret it. read more

Three visits, all excellent Was there when they first opened. Only had a starter and a drink. Great 2nd visit had the small Caesar salad and lasagna. both excellent as well the bread you dip into the olive oil and spices. 3rd visit had the short ribs with pasta, AWESOME! Also ordered for a co-worker celebrating her engagement lasagna and two blackberry margaritas, She said they were both 5 stars! read more

A pleasant surprise for unpretentious Italian for dining on a budget! At first glance this place might not look like much - unassuming exterior and cheaper prices. However I honestly though this place was a neighborhood gem. My advice: have the right expectations going in! This is not some 5-star Italian place so don't expect the best pasta of your life. However, for around $12-15 a dish you get wholesome and delicious food even so. The calamari was amazing! The rigatoni Alla vodka was good and very filling. The interior is adorable and really great for a date or night with friends. Highly recommend this place! If you're craving some quick affordable Italian with some charm definitely stop by here for a night! read more

Rocco's is a gem! It was a perfect spot for a family of four to have dinner. The staff provided excellent service from the moment we walked in until we left. The fettuccine Alfredo was incredible, it has a nice creamy sauce with a buttery finish. My wife enjoyed the chicken Parmesan which looked as good as Nona used to make. The north side pizza had a great blend of fresh toppings and chorizo and a nice chewy crust. Finished off with a huge slice of chocolate cake, and we had four very happy bellies. read more

Rocco's has tasty food, good prices, and even better service! This hidden neighborhood gem is located on the Near-North side of Houston. The menu is on the smaller side but that just may be what enables them to focus on quality. The taste of everything I'd eaten during this visit was superb. Here are my recommendations: Appetizers - Fried Mozzarella with Marinara Entree - Fettuccine or Lasagna Dessert - Cannoli Wine - Sweet Red read more

I'm going to be honest when we pulled up I was SCHLEEP on this place. It didn't look where I expected good Italian food to come from....I was WRONG!! This is exactly the place where it comes from! The place is small and kinda ducked off. It actually has a pretty cool vibe. I like the huge wine list is on the wall and the garage type sliding door for outside seating. We got there late so it was kinda empty which added to my doubt. The waitress cool which is always a plus. The bread came in DELICIOUS which had us. Really wanted to get alot more but they are a small place so didn't want to make that request I don't enjoy alcoholic drinks with my food so no wine for me but I must say their soda was rather crisp compared to most places. We just did the Mozzarella Fritti (bites) for an app and the marinara sauce was pretty good. I got the Chicken Piccata and my girl got the Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp. Both were DELISH!! As usual we both agreed we preferred our own dishes over the other. I only tasted hers so I can't speak much on it. Mine had a nice lemony flavor that kept the dish balanced and zingy. I would only want a tad more sauce but the dish was great! For a place I was initially iffy about this is definitely one I look forward to a revisit. read more

An old service station rebuilt as amn italian restaurant. Great pasta, pizza, and Italian fare at reasonable prices. Good parking. Service is bith fast and friendly at this little mom and pop that is my goto Italian spot. You can taste the home made at this place. Each meal comes with these little delish hot homemade buns. The bartender is pretty good too, try the old fashioned or a Paloma. This place is great and if you're in the mood for a fun night out eating great dishes at a nice, small getaway, then this is gonna be your kinda place. Heartily recommended. read more

This is a great place that is somewhat out of place in the Northside neighborhood it is in. I previously ordered Rocco's many times through Uber Eats because of their reasonable prices and always assumed it was a classic mom & pop neighborhood Italian joint. Imagine my surprise when I decided to stop in one day because I was nearby and found a modernly designed restaurant with happy hour even on the weekend. I have always been happy with the myriad items I ordered previously. My pizzas tasted fresh on delivery, and it tasted even better straight out of the kitchen. My server was kind and the prices were even better with given happy hour discounts pizzas by 4 dollars. Winning. read more

Super cute place, my new go to Italian spot! Family owned - it was so cozy it felt like I was having dinner at home. Started off with the bruschetta, super flavorful, the bread was perfectly toasted. We ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and the Rigatoni Vodka sauce with spicy Italian sausage. Good portions, both the pasta and sauces were finger licking good. The waitresses were very sweet and attentive. Can't wait to go back! read more

This place has become the gathering well for many in the area especially for dinner. The service is awesome whether you are a party of one or six. It has a very pleasant outdoor sitting, making your meal that much more enjoyable. Definitely a family ambiance. Tip, a large salad can actually be shared by 2-3 people. Highchairs are also available. There is parking but it fills up fast right at 6pm. Location is great if you live in Lindale Park or surrounding neighborhoods. It's nice to see options in my neighborhood. read more

I'm sure you've come across a meme or two where the toddler is engaged in a happy food dance as they eat...Yeah that was me last night for dinner! My order was delivered BEFORE the estimated wait time, food was hot, and yummy. The take out bowls are extremely deceiving! At first I thought I was ripped off for the price of the dish and the quantity, but I was wrong! The flavors...amazing...pasta was not overcooked, and so filling that I now have left overs! I'll have to try their indoor seating soon! read more

Located in NorthSide Village, on Collingsworth st, Rocco's is a diamond in the rough. This place is amazing! I have been here so many times and cannot stop myself from coming back. I have tried almost everything on the menu and each surprise me every time! Everything on the appetizer menu is super delish. I highly recommend the bruschetta, mozzarella fritti, antipasto misto and the scampi. They all go great with a nice, ice cold Peroni on tap. The food is ridiculous good. I highly recommend the rigatoni w vodka sauce, linguini pescatore, rigatoni short ribs Ragu. As for the pizza, do yourself a favor and get the white pizza. I'm hooked on it and cannot stop myself from ordering it every time even though I gotta shed a couple quarantine pounds. Overall great experience every single time! read more

Would have given a 5 but first let me say we love our neighborhood Rocco's. Ordered the salmon to go and it came in an aluminum container versus the other 2 dishes we got that came in plastic. You can taste the aluminum on the seafood, fyi. And I had asked my pasta to have olive oil and butter and it was dry. read more

Have not been to the actual place, but did order delivery from here through a third party and was very pleased. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, the chicken Alfredo, and the tiramisu. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious! I think the portion size was a tad small (damn you, american diet) but would order again nonetheless. The chicken Alfredo was everything but basic! The chicken was so juicy, and well flavored, the sauce was so creamy and flavorful. The tiramisu was a nice portion and delicioso. Will DEFF order or come visit again soon! read more

Really good food, good prices, nice service, neighborhood vibe. We came here for my daughter's birthday dinner because it was close to the Air BnB we were staying at and I will definitely put it on our list from now on. We had four teens and me, the middle aged mom. We had spinach artichoke dip and mozzarella fritti for apps and chx parm, a margarita pizza, spinach ravioli (the best), fettuccini Alfredo, and vodka rigatoni. The meals came with a garlic parm bread roll for everyone with dipping oil. It was all delish. We really enjoyed our meal and even with a generous tip, I spent less than $125 for all five of us. Oh, we also really appreciated the ice cold water in a bottle left at the table so we could refill our glasses. Definitely a keeper!! read more

Best casual pasta in Houston. Love the chicken parm and chicken piccata. This is my go to order out and last minute dinner place. And they somehow are never too busy. Go! read more

I gotta say driving toward Rocco's, I thought to myself is area seems a little sketchy. Lots of people walking on the side walks and riding their bicycles in the streets carrying groceries. The patio area of the restaurant faces an apartment across the street and the parking basically makes u back up into the street when you get ready to leave. I was surprised at how delicious everything was. First off the garlic bread was not freshly made. I can tell that it's bread that they popped in the oven right before serving. I can tell bc I reheat a lot of foods I have at home this was. The outside of the bread is hard yet the inside is not steaming. Tale tale sign right there. The rest of the food was pretty good and it's just a chill area outside to eat. Parking is very limited. read more

We've been a few times and we love taking our dog but on three occasions we've had to deal with stray dogs wandering into the outside patio. Our dog is friendly but of course the worry of the dogs not being on leash and not friendly are worrisome. Food is good but unfortunately probably won't be back because it's not actually pet friendly/safe. read more

What a neat little place -- welcoming, friendly waitstaff, clean interiors, nice ambiance. We loved the patio area. Excellent food -- linguini alla norma, caesar salad was perfect, and tiramisu delicious! Will be happy to revisit, if only for the stunningly good homemade bread rolls. Lordy, we are not worthy! read more

Food, service and the patio have all been awesome for the two times we were there. Having been in the hospitality industry for over three decades, I would suggest that there is a young waiter who is very nice, but seems to be uncomfortable or not well trained. I believe an training investment in this young man will be advantageous to him and the restaurant. read more

Fabulous evening and service! I absolutely adore adore this neighborhood spot. Incredible prices and and ambiance

Nice little hidden gem in the Northside. Good food, good service. Cool vibe about the place. Food is fresh...Chicken Marsala was excellent, Pizza was good. The spinach ravioli was delicious. Perfect spot for pasta and cocktails. SometimeS I order the tomato bisqueEveryone there is so sweet.

Great food and friendly staff. The service is always fantastic and it's very casual. Patio is nice in the warm weather and dog friendly.

Nothing better than finding a true neighborhood restaurant that's unassuming and exceptionally delicious. // Wine We arrived in the nick of time to enjoy their daily HH special. $15 off wine bottles! There's a healthy list of both red and white, plus bubbles if you're feeling fancy. Price point varies from around $35-$60/bottle, but the HH special makes for a great deal. // Food Downright delicious. Everything was fresh and plated beautifully. Calamari- fresh and crispy but not overly chewy or rubbery. The house made marinara dipping sauce was amazing. Mussels in Mariana - a must order app! The mussels swimming in the marinara is heavenly. Caprese Salad - ommmmg. So beautiful and delicious I forgot to take a pic! From the creamy mozzarella, to the crisp tomatoes and tangy arugula, I felt like I was in Capri! Another MUST for the table, even if it's just for decoration. Pizzas - We did half and half of the Northside and Rucola. It's large enough to share between two people but you'll probably be scraping your plate for more. Fresh (how many times can I use this word in a single review!??), fluffy dough and high-end toppings. TL;DR - If you want a casual but equally delicious dinner, you know where to find it! read more

Came with a friend and ordered a mocktail mojito because I cannot have any alcohol whatsoever. The server rung in a normal mojito and I didn't realize until about two sips in. Brought it to the bartender and had her remake it the way I ordered. Never got so much as a manager sent over, not an apology from the server, had to leave my car overnight and was still given the bill with the mocktail on it. If it was a recovering alcoholic or a child or even a pregnant woman, they would have severely jeopardized someone's future. I've heard great things about this place but was absolutely shocked with how this was handled. Food was great though. Service could've been better. read more

Good food and better service . All the servers were super polite . Will be coming g back soon

Searching for a place to have lasagna on a Sunday night is no easy feat as most Italian restaurants are closed on Sundays. When the scampi came out we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the shrimp and used the remaining sauce to eat it with the complimentary bread. The lasagna was seasoned perfectly and not overly peppered. We sat outside as the weather is turning for the best and the ambient lighting was inviting. Major shout out to our server Diana who told us about the attractive happy hour that is from 4:30 to 6:30pm every day. Looks like I know where I'll spend my early happy hour at ;) read more

Amazing! We live close by, but have never visited this place because we typically don't go for Italian food. I wish we had eaten here sooner! We ordered it through Uber eats because we're lazy, so we expected that the food would be room temperature and maybe a little soggy when it arrived. It was not that way at all! We ordered the fried cheese, my boyfriend got the lasagna, I got the cappellini San Marco, and we got an order of the cannolis for dessert. The fried cheese was nice and crispy, and the marinara sauce that came with it was super yummy. My boyfriend loved his lasagna, but he couldn't finish because it was so filling, and that isn't like him at all! The best thing about it was that it was still piping hot - my boyfriend likes his food to be extremely hot, so he was really pleased with that. I loved my pasta, though I definitely burned my fingers a bit trying to get the tails off the shrimp. Adding the red pepper flakes made it even better! Lastly, the cannolis were amazingly crispy and the filling was spot on. I appreciated that they put some filling in the bottom of the container to help keep them from sliding around. Overall, we'll definitely be eating here in the future. I'd love to see how they are in person, but eating it at home was great for us! read more

Good wholesome Italian food seems to be hard to find in a sea of Olive gardens and Maggianos. This place fills that void. They seem to be new but is definitely going to be my go to for Italian. When you get there you will notice it's half restaurant half patio. Everything is a little cozy but it is no problem when you don't go on high frequency times. They have several specials going on daily so check the website for details. They start you off with some complimentary garlic bread. It comes out warm and in the shape of a roll, smothered in butter. The day I went was half off apps and we decided to have the spinach and artichoke dip. It comes in a small ramakin and you will think it's not enough but it really is all you need. The flavor is out of this world. It's heavy but totally worth the calories. Since I haven't had an Alfredo based dish in months I decided to get a big plate of Alfredo pasta with chicken. Not the most imaginative dish to order but it was what I was craving. The moment the warm creamy sauce it my mouth I was in heaven and my hunger was satisfied. The more I ate the more I realized the portion was more than enough and I was ready for a nap or a food coma. The person I was with got the lasagna that came in a mammoth proportion. I would love to tell you how it tasted but my friend inhaled it. So I'm sure it was amazing. The price for all their dishes are cheaper than most Italian restaurants and the enviorment is better than most. I would love to take friends here sometime. read more
