Bruschetta Board (elote, the salmon pesto, the fig prosciutto, and the boquerones (anchovies))
Stephanie Z.

We came in for a late dinner and had a pleasant experience! We shared a bruschetta board and the crispy cauliflower dish. For the bruschetta board, we opted for the elote, the salmon pesto, the fig prosciutto, and the boquerones (anchovies). I wouldn't recommend the boquerones as it was mostly tomatoes and the anchovies weren't well distributed and kept falling off, but the others were yummy. The crispy cauliflower wasn't very crispy, but it did have a nice flavor. It needed more of the romesco sauce to eat with the cauliflower. The service was fast in terms of taking our order and delivering the food but a little slow with water refills. The ambiance is dark and cozy, not too loud. They have an adjacent parking lot, so parking was easy.

Stopped by Postinos in the Heights and had such a great meal! Great atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food--I'd definitely come back!

It was pretty good. Tried the bacon arugula times two and the banana. I'm thinking the banana would be awesome with the WOLCOTT BURBOUN CREME for a breakfast. The meatballs was a plus dipped with tomato sauce on top of the boards . Ambiance was chill, parking could be tricky but we found a spot right up front. Try it, it's light and filling. I don't think they accept cash.

Yummy food and good vibes! Just moved to Houston and this was the first place we tried. I was not disappointed. It was so delicious. We got the chopped salad with basil and mint and cranberries. I can't remember its exact name. We also got the pastrami sand which and fries. I didn't try this but told it was great! And the hummus board. Loved the board! Really liked the toppings on it. I really loved the salad the most, I'd come back for it frequently. We got a margarita that was on the menu and it wasn't anything too great compared to what else is around. But the wine was delicious! Love the portion size!

Nothing bad to say. Will def be back for a girls night. I only managed to snag a pic of the cauliflower which was amazing. We also had a yummy sandwich. Will absolutely be back and you should go too!! Later gator!

Great dog-friendly spot for lunch, especially after a walk. We got some appetizers and a panini to share. The shrimp scampi and burrata were great. The skewers and west coaster panini were just okay. Loved the side salad with the panini and the ricotta hot donut dots. Very friendly staff and nice patio.

I came on a couple occasions during their nights and late evenings. The place is a bit more dimly lit towards the late evening to facilitate a more conversational atmosphere within the confines of your table. Staff are generally quick to get you started. No issues there. If it's your first time, you must try the bruschetta board! It's a series of four different customizable options served on slices of toasted crostini. I love their fruit jams and salami slices. A good option for a small snack between friends.

Board and bottle night

4 words. Board. And. Bottle. Night. Nuff said! Postino is a STEAL of a deal on Mon and Tues after 8pm for board and bottle night. $25 for a bruschetta board of your choice and a whole bottle of wine? You can't beat that! I've had many fun date nights and friend "tea sessions" here to catch up with friends. I love their outdoor patio when the weather is nice, make the most of it before it gets too hot during the summer for sure. My personal favorite board here is usually the prosciutto/fig/marscapone, burrata/bacon/tomato/basil, smoked salmon/pesto, and whatever the chef's choice is for the day. I love the variety in choices here, there's something everyone will like. Wine wise, I tend to like some of their drier wines that are still juicy and fruit forward. Gamay is definitely my go to for this category. Otherwise, their rose and orange wines were both great as well. If you're looking for a great spot to share food, enjoy company/socialize, and indulge in a bottle of wine, this is our go to spot on a Mon/Tues! Don't sleep on their cauliflower appetizer as well. Cheers!

Absolutely love Postino. Such good vibes and energy at every location. The Heights location is the first one I ever went to and it was so nice and intimate since we went late night. Our server was knowledgeable and quick. Our food was good. We got two different bruschetta boards and a Mediterranean board to share. Ordered a bottle of white wine and we were good to go!

Another great experience at Postinos in the Heights. Becca and Taylor were great servers and made the time there even better! Food was great - shoutout to Amanda one of the chefs for checking in on us. The cauliflower, skewers, and board was on point today. The donuts for dessert were delicious.

My go to for HH in Houston!! We got the bruschetta board and a bottle of wine for ONLY $25! My favorite from the board is the salmon & pesto and prosciutto & fig. It's a really cute wine bar that I like to take people who visit Houston. The service is always great.

Postino is so fun yall, like the bruschetta boards, the vibes, the staff. I absolutely love coming here and I can come on any day of the week. The entire restaurant embodies a feel good vibe. My favorite menu items include the skewers, mushroom fondue, and the brussels sprouts salad.

Giovanna C.

Good vibes and the place is nice and the outdoor seating is very cool. the food was yummy the only issue was the server kinda forgot about me unfortunately. I waited like 20 minutes to order my food but other then that it was a good experience.

Ask the Community - Postino Heights

Will they do separate checks for a group of 10?

Yes they will.

Is there a parking lot?

Yes. Parking is shared with the shopping center. I find it's easiest to find parking in the large parking lot across the street near Local Foods. There is also plenty of street parking along Heights Blvd.

Do they have a private seating area?

Do they take reservations for a Friday evening?

I don't believe they take reservations! They do have a waiting list on their website that you can join.

Is it easy to grab a table for 4 at 5pm on a Sunday?

Is this place doing happy hour?

Yes, till 5! Small pitchers (about 2 beers) and wine glasses are $5!

During COVID, are hours still until midnight inside?

What are the house wines included in the Monday/Tuesday $25 deal?

All of them! Each wine on the menu is considered a "house wine."

During brunch do they also serve the lunch menu as well?

Yes we do! Our full menu is available during brunch as well.

Dog friendly (on patio, presumably)?

Yes, I've brought my dog there before and it is dog friendly on the patio!

Does this place have a happy hour? I couldn't find it on the website

Hi Lauren, Thank you for your interest in Postino. We have two different happy hour specials. We serve our house glasses of wine and pitchers of beer for $5 from the moment we…

Is Saturday brunch ok to bring a child?

Yes, they have high chairs and many folks bring their little ones

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

"Closing time, you don't have to go home But you can't stay…read morehere." - Semisonic I have lived in the loop for 5 years now, and I'm sad to say that I finally tried Mutiny on their last day. I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

The place was dimly lit and there was a lot of seating, both indoor and outdoor. A lot of the seating inside was arranged as couches with low tables, which made for a very casual and relaxing vibe, while the overall atmosphere remained very classy. - Padre's Hotdog (4.5/5): I was told by my friend that this was the best hotdog ever so I had very high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. The bread was very buttery and nicely toasted. The frank itself was very juicy and I loved how the pico and mustard help cut through the fat. The thing that made this hotdog stand out was the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious and I could probably have just eaten that alone. One thing though, the hotdogs were a bit on the smaller size, you probably would have to order something else or a second hotdog if you were hungry. Would come back again just for this hotdog! Parking/Service: There was a small lot on the side of the building, but other than that you might have to street park in the neighborhood right next to it. The ordering system was a bit of a surprise for me. You have to walk in to the bar and order there.

We were able to snag some free street parking and wandered our way into a cute setup with mood lighting and plenty of seating. There's a central bar and plenty of outdoor patio space. We were immediately helped as soon as we found a table which I really appreciated. The menu is HUGE and has anything you could possibly want. We're big red wine fans so we settled on that page. J opted for a cab while I decided on a couple to sample before ultimately choosing a red blend. I appreciate that they're more than happy to give you a taste before committing to a glass. You can choose between 3 or 6oz pours, or a bottle. We also decided to share a cheese board with the Willoughby cheese which was soft and delicious! I appreciated how kind and accommodating the servers were as they frequently checked on us. This is a great spot to enjoy some wine with friends, on date night, or anything really! We came in as an impromptu visit after an earlier event and figured we'd just stop in for a glass of wine or so. Upon walking in, the place is super cute with dim lighting and was quite crowded on a Thursday night. We didn't immediately find available seating, but after a couple minutes, a table opened up and we sat there. Our primary server was Grayson, who was super knowledgeable about the wine list. Other servers tended to us throughout the night, and all were equally as knowledgeable about the menu offerings. At the time we went, they were featuring various wines from Beaujolais. We ended up trying one of these, the Alexandre Burgaud Brouilly Rouge, which was a full-bodied red. This was a great recommendation, and I will say that we didn't conclude the visit on only one of these bottles... Based on Grayson's food recommendations, we ended up ordering the Mortadella panini and a combination charcuterie board. The Mortadella panini was unique but good - tomato, mortadella, provolone, and mustard all served on a pretzel bun. Probably not my dish of choice alongside wine, however I did really like the charcuterie board. We asked them to surprise us on the cheese and meat, and they really came through. The prosciutto was tasty and the cheese (can't remember which one) had a peppery flavor to it, which paired well with our red wine. The overall clientele vibe seemed like a range of date nights, girls nights, first dates, and solo drinkers. I love the diversity! We ended up making friends with the table next to us and eventually merged tables to make this a fun group date night. Definitely a highlight of the visit. We will definitely be back sooner than later. This is a cute neighborhood bar that I look forward to returning myself and brining out-of-town guests to come experience. They also have a dog-friendly patio - something to keep in mind whenever the day calls for drinking some wine in nice outdoor weather!
