The staff was really patient with us and took the time to explain all of the different offerings on their menu. They have a lot of unique drinks! We ended up trying their Vietnamese egg coffee and & Vienna latte. The egg topping was THICK, definitely the thickest egg cream I've had anywhere. It was really delicious though, not too sweet and complimented the coffee really well. We got their recommended 50% sweet and the coffee itself was perfect, especially being accompanied with the egg cream. The Vienna cream was a thinner consistency and slightly sweeter. If you're looking for something almost dessert like, I'd really recommend the egg coffee! If you're looking for a refreshing drink, I'd recommend the Vienna latte. Such a cute coffee shop with yummy drinks!!! I got the egg coffee which is something I've been looking for since my last visit to Vietnam and it did not disappoint. Such a creamy goodness. Love love love this little coffee pop up store! It's located inside of KTea Cafe and run by one lady (Tammy)! The wait can be a little while but it's worth it. I've never had a dirty matcha latte where I could taste BOTH the matcha and the coffee so distinctly. I would definitely come back to get it again. Tammy recommended the Vienna einspanner latte with coffee jelly (the egg latte foam was going to take a while longer to make and we didn't have time to wait, oh well guess we have to go back again!!) and it was delicious as well. The coffee was smooth and the foam was nice and creamy. We got both drinks 50% sweet and it was the right amount and didn't overwhelm the coffee taste. The parking lot is very large for that area of downtown Sunnyvale, and it can be easy to miss the store. Look for the banner hanging with ROBU! The seating inside only has two tiny round tables with two chairs each so not the best to dine in for. However there's a lot of outdoor seating nearby! read more

I love a good specialty coffee shop, and Robu Coffee did not disappoint! They specialize in Asian-inspired flavors and there were so many drinks on the menu that I wanted to try. We ended up settling on the Coconut Ube Coffee and Cherry Blossom Latte, both with Vietnamese coffee for the extra caffeine kick. First thing you notice is how cute the drinks are, I'm a sucker for a pretty colored foam. The coffee itself is quite acidic, but balances well with the sweetness of the creamy foams. There was a good balance of foam to coffee, and it mixed well even till the very last sip. Can't wait to come back and try more drinks. read more

Great Vietnamese coffee place with really cool flavors! I got the iced coffee with black sesame foam with 50% sweetness and it was really tasty! It wasn't as strong as other Vietnamese coffees I have had and I prefer it less strong so I enjoyed that! They had some other really interesting flavors including the classic egg coffee. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other coffees and drinks! Service was great! You order at a little bar. I think I ordered with the owner and she was really friendly. Currently it's a pop up shop next to Ktea cafe on the parking lot side of historic Murphy Ave also in the back of Mayan kitchen. If you type in Ktea cafe you will get there. For a pop up shop it's pretty nice! They set up two small tables inside where I would sit with a friend for a little and they also have a nice bench outside for a quick drink by yourself or in my case with my pup. I love neighborhood coffeeshops...esp ones that are good and with Asian flavors. They have some interesting flavors like pho coffee, ube coconut, sesame latte, etc. I went with the sesame latte today at 50% sweet and would probably request it to be 25% sweet next time. I got the latte on the seasonal menu -- coconut pandan latte. It had a slight bitter taste that was not too bitter and helped cut back on the sweetness. It was incredibly addicting and I hope the drink stays around so that I can order it again next time. Unfortunately the egg coffee was out of stock so I hope I can go back next time to try it. It was way too sweet, and my wife kindly asked for a remake of the drink. They said "No, sorry we cannot do anything about that". Mind you, they weren't busy at all and could've easily done this. They instead added a shot of espresso and really didn't change the sweetness of the drink. I give them an extra star for doing the bare minimum. Most if not all Cafe's or Boba shops would happily accommodate and would ask to try their concoction and let them know if any adjustments are needed. Coffee has gone wild! You simply can't just have latte, cappuccino, or macchiato anymore. We ordered 4 different kinds of coffee mix and we were pretty happy with all of them. I like it even better that the standard sweetness is 50% of what you would normally get like in boba shop. This is a small business I would return to in a heartbeat. I ordered the egg coffee and even had it customized because I didn't want the extra sugar beyond the egg foam (i.e. I requested egg foam on top of black coffee via phin). I also ordered their egg salad sando which was fantastic and their pitachio danish, which took me by surprise. I typically do not reach for pistachio; in this case I tried to order the mango coconut danish but it was sold out, so I was recommended the pistachio danish. The drinks are so aesthetically pleasing and well crafted. I love the design on the cups. I ordered a few drinks for my coworkers and I and I got the Cherry Blossom drink, tbh 6/10 for taste as I couldn't really taste the cherry blossom flavor even with the pink cream top. However it was really pretty though. I am definitely gonna come back to try other drinks. I will say there's not too much space to sit down and do work inside, and parking can be limited, so I would say that it's best to go to grab a quick drink/pastry. I have to confess to you, I think Robu won't go out of style like Fubu. But it will certainly have you running like a Choo Choo. I say this after the first sip and what it does to you. Robusta and Arabica beans blended so smooth, this Joe will have you in a groove. I'm talking about the Robu signature latte that came with a delicious blend of cocoa powder and coffee jelly and a kick that lit me up after that first sip. With my second drink I went with a little sweetness so I ordered their seasonal Cherry Blossom latte. Now this drink had a well balanced flavor of Cherry Blossom foam with a strong kick of the Vietnamese coffee. This was definitely a hair raising caffeinated experience, Ohhh Yeah! Went here for a prework coffee run. Surprisingly they don't open until 8:30am so cutting it close for a 9am start time, but they were fast enough to make it in time. There's so many options and combinations that sound good that I ended up ordering an extra drink that was self declared as "for my hubby" but instead was kinda just my scapegoat to justify exploring another flavor, hehe. Egg coffee at regular sweetness is delicious and sippable. The ube foam latte was a little less sweet than I would've preferred. Since I got the oat milk I don't believe I was able to get it the way it was meant to be taken--with coconut milk instead. The female help who took my order was soooooooo sweet. Located inside KTeaCafe is a small pop up of this really delicious coffee. Store is kind of small as you really are met with the counter as soon as you walk in and two tables to each side. I was so confused initially because the two kiosk are for KTeaCafe. My stupid ah didn't see that the Robu Coffee menu was displayed at counter and it said to order directly with staff. I decided on the Robu Signature but single shot espresso and my friend got the Coconut Ube Coffee. At their recommended 50% sweetness, I really liked the signature. The flavor of the coffee was good and the jellies helped give it extra sweetness. My friends Ube was more coffee and just ube notes but she also enjoyed it. I am shocked that such a good vietnamese fusion coffeeshop is available in Sunnyvale! Seeing it online, I knew I had to come to try it. Coming in on a weekday afternoon, their shop was busy. They are located in a good location and have a parking lot, but unfortunately it was difficult to find a spot. Robu looks to be a apart of KTEA and Mayan Kitchen location, with their in-person ordering kiosks saying KTEA. However, ordering online is super easy! Just make sure you select the correct location (not the mobile cart!!). The employees were friendly and still a little disorganized - growing pains! I know they will be working to the max in no time. They were all nice and helped to check on my online order. They also let me know that a delivery option is available if we ordered enough drinks and were close to the store. Good to know for the future. Inside is very small though, so it is best to get your drink and go. Luckily, I went with a large group so I was able to sample so many drinks! My favorite was either their signature coffee or the egg coffee! The egg cream was so light and fluffy that it settled above the ice and could be mixed into the drink. At 50% sweetness as regular sweet was just perfect. Similarly, the cream on the signature had such a light texture that it could mix just as well! It was not as sweet as the egg coffee, even at the regular 50% sweetness level. It is definitely a would-be recommendation if you also like coffee jelly. Next, I would say is the black sesame coffee. There was a nice sesame, roasted flavor but I could've used more. I know there's a balance between strong flavor to almost nut-butter, but I would've liked some more. The ube coconut latte was good, but not my thing. There was a really strong coconut smell, but little flavor of coconut cream in the latte. Lastly, I also tried the pho coffee. Let's say it was wild! I would not have thought to try it, but it had the aromatics of pho which made it so interesting. There was an herbal flavor to it, so if that's your thing you could like this one. read more

My friend and I were so excited to hear about Robu and decided to check it out this week! We both ordered the Black Sesame Coffee and loved how rich the Vietnamese coffee flavor was. Only critique was that the black sesame cream was really thick so it was hard to blend in with the coffee and stayed separated for a while (we like mixing our cream tops into the coffee).
