We have been going to Robinson Autoworks for many years. He is reasonable and very trustworthy. He won't do work or reccomend work on your car unless you need it. I would recommend him to anyone who wants the work done right. To many car dealer repairs tell you you need work on your car that is NOT needed. read more

Robinson is fantastic, I took my poor baby Saab into him expecting an arm and a leg for a new battery. Robinson did it for an affordable price and was so quick and kind. I like the fact that you can tell Robinson is a genuine guy who loves what he does, great karma will come his way! Thank you Robinson automotive! read more

Rob has been great to me, to my family and friends. I recommend him as a mechanic for years and I have never heard a bad thing said about him.. I have been a client for years and will continue to use him for years to come. It's hard to find a great mechanic and one you can trust. Rob has been trustworthy and fair since he was recommended to me by a friend.! read more

If I can give a sixth star to this location, I would. A family friend recommended this location, and it was a fine recommendation indeed. I called to make an appointment last week to have a parking light replaced near my headlight. I had to make my appointment in the afternoon since I work in the morning, and while the owner told me he doesn't normally make appointments after noon, he was willing to make an exception since it was just a lightbulb that needed to be replaced. Fast forward to today, the day of my appointment, and needless to say I am quite impressed. I was in and out within 30 minutes, despite there being a lot of cars to work on. Not only that, the price was extremely reasonable: $10 for labor and an additional $2 for the lightbulb. The thing I really like about this place is the small business feel and not being screwed by big business. read more

Very friendly and personable. First impression was very good, well maintained and clean shop, a sign that he cares. He has owned his shop for 20 years. He let me know quickly what the problem was after i dropped it off and the exact price (btw, it was an extremely fair price). The same day i dropped it off it was finished. I highly recommend this place and will be returning as a customer! read more

Clear, honest, trustworthy, friendly and professional = 5 STARS! I brought my car to Robinson after receiving a very dishonest quote from the Nissan dealership in Modesto. I explained my situation to Rob and he told me not to worry, he would find the problem. Shortly after dropping off my car Robinson called me and told me the problem. The cost of the repair was very fair and a fraction of the price quoted by Nissan Dealership. My car is now running great and I will only trust my car with Robinson from now on/ I highly recommend Robinson's autoworks! read more

Now, I could give you some long and personal testimony. Actually I can give you three. However, I'll tell you the one that means the most to me. I brought my Honda in for a 100K check up and tune up. Upon arriving I let him know that my wedding band had fallen down into my car and I couldn't find it. I had tried for hours the day before and thought it was lost. I mentioned it to him and said it would mean a lot. I clearly told him I had no expectation of him finding it either! The next day I came back at 6:30 (Yes he is committed and is there late. He's basically a Boss) and I got my car. What did I also get? My ring. This guy cares. He isn't sketchy. He is a stand up guy. Can you go elsewhere? Probably. Might be a little cheaper. But here, you pay for integrity and he treats you like an old friend happy to see you after the miles you've driven. read more

The only garage I trust! Honest hard working great guys and the cleanest garage I've ever seen. My husband and I have been taking our cars to him for years. read more

Robinson has been our auto mechanic for over 7 years. Most of my neighbors use Robinson Automotive as well, since he's conveniently located. We have newer cars now and don't need service as often and we actually miss him! Ran into him @ Radio Shack and he gave us a hug. Then we chatted at length about business, family, etc... He is just the greatest guy! He has saved us countless dollars. Years ago he fixed a horn for us for $25.00 The dealer wanted $200! More recently I stopped by with a bulb for a burned out tail light to ask how to access the panel to change it myself. Instead, he changed it for me & refused to take any money from me as it only took him a few minutes. Robinson Automotive provides honest, quality work, in a timely & cost conscious manner, while offering superior customer service. I could not recommend highly enough!! I wish more business owners were this reputable and caring. read more

Robinson is an honest, down to earth, easy to talk to guy. I dropped my car off, he knocked it out in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend him to anyone. This is a winner. Thanks Rob, I'll be back. read more

My elderly neighbor has been in and out of the hospital lately. He felt strong enough to drive but I had noticed he had brake lights out. Based on prior reviews and the close proximity to our homes, I suggested his first trip be to Robinson's to get the bulb replaced. When we got there, there were a couple of cars ahead of us and we said we'd wait. No! He went to the car thoroughly checked all of the lights, replaced the bad bulb and we were on our way. When we got home he told his wife, "we're having all future work done at Robinson's" and I will, too. Very kind, thoughtful, thorough group. LOVE!!! read more

They are AMAZING! After having a mechanic from Craigslist work on my car, I had major issues with it and nothing was working. I explained this to Rob and that I am selling it to my little sister today... He completely understood and was very empathetic about my situation. He turned a very upsetting situation into a very comforting one! He fixed my car FAST and charged very little - even though he had other cars to work on, he quickly fixed mine. He's honest and sincerely cares about customers. Now I know of a local mechanic shop that I can trust! Very happy! read more

Honest mechanic who gets the job done right the first time. Have taken all my families vehicles to him, and will continue to do so.

Robinson is the most honest mechanic in all of Modesto. I can always count on him to be fair and honest. Most recently I was having problems with my A/C and brought my car in to him. I was worried it was going to be an expensive problem to fix.. to my surprise Robinson told me it was only a $12.50 relay. It is so nice to see that there is still such honest business owners out there. I have recommended him to many of my friends and they feel the same.. read more

This is the first auto shop that I have dealt with that I don't feel like I have to be on the defensive. Rob and his crew do quality work at a reasonable price. Robinson is a pleasure to talk to and his shop is very clean and professional looking. I recommend him and hand out his buisness card every chance I get. read more

Rob is AMAZING!! He always does a great job, but this time he outdid himself! My daughter's car was having problems. My daughter was having a very hard time steering the car. I thought it might be the power steering. With being a full-time student and having three jobs, my daughter schedule is very tight. It also just happened that she was going out of town for a few days. Rob went out of his way to accommodate her schedule. Not only that, I am sure that many places would have tried to replace more parts, and charged us much more. Rob doesn't work that way. He is extremely honest, and really knows what he's doing with a wide variety of automotive brands. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that he does smog checks as well! I am fairly sure that the work Rob did on my daughter's car was stressful, as he is very busy, and we only had a little bit of time to work with. However, Rob never let on that he was stressed. He is always incredibly friendly and always has nice things to say! Not only does my daughter's car need more work, she also must have a smog check this year. We will definitely be using Robinson's automotive for everything she needs to have done! read more

Robinson is a mechanic you can depend upon. He is very quality-oriented, dilegent, and an honest business man. He reviews options with his customers and will not perform uneccesary work. Go to this shop when you are serious about maintaining your vehicle. If you are looking for a cheap oil change, then go somewhere else. You get what you pay for. read more

DO NOT take your car to this place! I took my car in for an oil change and new brake pads, simply because this was the closest place to my house. They guy was friendly enough when I dropped it off, but when I picked it up the bill was over $100 more than I'd been quoted. I said I wasn't going to pay because I hadn't "approved the work", then he said I must have "misunderstood" him. This place tried to scam me, go at your own risk. read more
