I went in and bought 5 brand new tires($1888 charged) and the guy at the counter will nickel and dime you to death for every little thing..1999 chevy Silverado. Bought 4 Brand new All terrain BFGs KO3's. Top of line tires and a brand new spare tire and he nailed me for every little thing like taking locks off (should have been a courtesy since I didn't go anywhere else) . I regret going to this place. Tire shops are a dime a dozen and I went there as a referral (I should have went somewhere else).... and I waited for 3 hours to put them on and no one said anything as to why it was taking so long. Guy at the front desk acts like its the only tire shop in Modesto. I have 3 vehicles and will never EVER go there nor recommend anyone to go there. Garbage customer service. Worst experience I have ever had for brand new tires. People do your research and go somewhere else. So many better options. If I could I would have given Zero Stars. I heard Finish line on McHenry Avenue or Les Schwab is better than this lame Tire Shop. McCoy Tires.... do better. Especially the guy in the front desk. read more

Actually, the last time I went there, I was just a young girl. That was back in the 60s, when my dad, Jack, was the owner. At that time, the 3333 address was the last business address going north on Mchenry. Dad had a racecar shop, which was added on sometime in about 1969, just past the original tire shop, and a large tire yard behind a 6-ft wood fence. That is where Dad kept my horse, Big Red, a very tall, very old sorrel gelding. My pet goat Becky was there with him to keep him company. It was common to pull into the business parking lot and see Red's giant head resting on top of the fence, and Becky standing on a pile of tires, right beside him.. I actually used to ride him in the big fields full of milk thistle (his favorite snack) which were just beyond the shop., where McHenry turned into flat farmland and emptiness. The last time I was there, I barely recognized the area, but there was that familiar sign. In reading the reviews, I see McCoy's is still going strong with the new ownership, who are still providing the best tires and service in town, just like in the old days! read more

Their estimate was a little high but they followed up with me quickly and gave me a a good reason why they were going to use original brake booster from GMC.. I ended up going to one of their competitors and he was a third the price Thank God because the truck ended up needing a master cylinder too and new brake fluid... I still got out of that mechanic under way under McCoy's estimate the brake booster alone.. I do really appreciate McCoy estimate and I will use them for other repairs in the future But will check around for other estimates read more

Hands down the best tire shop around, period. Businesses like this one are so rare nowadays that if you find one, you toss your little black book of others and you never look back. Brad and the gang are the kind of stand up people who bring you old school full service professionalism, all the way around, like it used to be, but here still is. No amount of flashy temporary deals at giant chain stores will ever be worth "not" coming to a place like this. Besides in my experience, they match any price on any tire they sell anyway. I haven't used another tire shop in pushing 40 years unless I was broke down out of town, and even then, if I even remotely think I can make it back home to McCoy's safely, I save my business for this shop. I was offered a free inspection. When I went to take my car in, it was looked at for 30 minutes from the time the mechanic first started to the time they called me to tell me they fixed my issue and it'd be $75 for the labor. A bolt was missing and they wanted $75 for installing it. No approval or quote was provided. I had the bolt and later installed it myself in 30 seconds. At the time I found the bolt I wasn't sure where it came from. They claimed issue was fixed but it is clearly not. I still have a loud clunking noise and you only have to turn the wheel slightly to still notice the problem. It gets worse once driving over bumps and such. When I arrived they had removed the bolt they used and said I didn't owe them anything. I was also lied to by Brad who said it took 30 minutes of labor to install the bolt once they found the problem. It takes less than 1 I found out. They'll offer a free inspection and then charge you for the time it took to do the inspection as labor. Also will lie about how long it took. I would not go here. Poor customer service on top of it. Luckily I knew better than to fall for this false advertisement of a free inspection and classic bait and switch scam. read more
