I went to Accountemps after my family business went bankrupt and I was in need of a fresh start. Given that my only post college experience was at the family business many employers where skeptical and simply wrote me off. I had my first interview at Accountemps with Andrew where I explained my unique situation to him and we talked about my accounting background. Following the interview Andrew suggested I stay and take a few assessments to help demonstrate my accounting expertise to potential employers. After scoring high on the assessments, Andrew assured me that he will build a profile that will surely appeal to clients. Few days later Andrew had forwarded my profile to all Robert Half offices in the San Diego area and I got a call from the downtown office with an opportunity for my first assignment which I ended up taking. Shortly after that assignment ended I got another one through the Rancho Bernardo office. That second assignment Emily found for me turned into a permanent job in 4 short months and now I have found a home with a great company where I can grow my accounting career. I was unemployed for 2 years and decided to work part time and a very dear friend of mind told me to go to Office Team. I interviewed with Sandy at the La Jolla office. Within two weeks I was placed at a CPA firm to help them until they hired someone full time and completed the assignment. After a few months off, I again called Office Team and worked with Lance Carter and I started a temporary position right away and completed my assignment with them. Lance once again placed me with a CPA firm to help for a few weeks and it fit my personality perfectly and I let the company know that I would be willing to continue to work for them if a position came available. As it turned out a position opened and I have been working their for almost a year happily. The Robert Half Finance and Accounting office in La Jolla is great! I was in the middle of a job search and submitted my resume for a position listed by RH online. Darryn called me the next day to set up an interview to discuss my job search objectives and goals. I had a great meeting with him and I was asked to take a couple assessments online to get a better gauge of my knowledge and experience. The next day, Darryn called me with an great opportunity and I agreed to submit my resume to be considered. They set up an interview for me before the end of the week and I got a 2nd interview the following week. I ended up getting a great offer thanks to Darryn. It all happened in about a weeks time span, so the turnover rate and timing for me was amazing. Please avoid this San Diego agency if at all possible. I have done business with them in the past, both as a hiring manager and as a direct hire where they represented me very well. It was a mistake on my part to go back to them, the people I dealt with in the past that provided a wonderful experience are now gone and my experience with them over the last couple of weeks has been nothing short of horrible and humiliating. I was laid of due to Covid-19 so I needed their services, their unprofessional behavior and lack of response has only made this the worst experience with any agency I've had in my life. They absolutely refuse to acknowledge any communication, they do not return e-mails, direct calls or voicemails, completely unprofessional, they do not provide any feedback or reason for their lack of communication. AVOID them at all cost, unless you are into being humiliated and/or ignored by both Tabitha and Michael, it was a truly depressing experience. Robert Half ended up being the staffing agency I didn't know I needed. Having just moved to San Diego, I did my due diligence and found myself a job to start shortly after moving. I had been in touch with several agencies and RH contacted me after I was already working with one and they advised me to stick with that one so I wouldn't be double submitted (and therefore disqualified) for job postings. Unfortunately the job I accepted ended up not being a good fit, and a friend of mine referred me to RH putting me back in touch with Mike La Barbera who found me a great position and had me lined up for an interview in a matter of days, and I was offered the position the next business day. When I became unemployed last year I signed up with several staffing agencies to assist me with finding employment.
