RH was good to work for at first but then I asked for the money that I was told I'd receive. They then refused to release it to me until I finally got a resolution. RH then told me no hard feelings, since I'm only following through on what I was promised. After that, RH stopped helping me find work and has denied me for positions that I'm well qualified for. I'm unsure who is running this company, but I wouldn't say it's a smart move on their part. Actalent's however has been great, maybe work with them instead. read more

I am sad to share an experience. This company has been unbelievably difficult and dishonest to work with. They place temp candidates on full time hire jobs, charge excessive fees as far as I'm concerned. They don't have any skin in the game for your business at all. These guys coached a candidate they placed to stay for 90 days to stay and had them interview with other firms while working for our company! They could not care less you or business. I contracted Office Team / Robert Half to do a small data entry project. They provided suitable candidates (at a somewhat pricey rate) who worked on the project for a few weeks. After the project ended I received excessive follow up from their team and even other departments at Robert Half to the point where I asked to be removed from their contact list. 6 months later and 5+ request to be removed from their contact list and they are still sending unwanted emails and occasional phone calls. Only contact Office Team if you are prepared to deal with high pressure sales and excessive unwanted follow up without your consent. read more

I'm a little confused with Robert Half here in San Diego. When I lived in Los Angeles, I sent out my resume and I heard back from a recruiter within 24-48 hours. Now here in San Diego, I have sent out my resume, called and left voicemails and nothing. I'm very disappointed in the San Diego office. It's like they do not care! I would give the Los angels office 5 stars. However, San Diego gets 1 - update. I was transferred to someone who can "help me" left 2 voicemails and never heard back. Smh read more

Definitely do not recommend. My girlfriend has been ghosted by TWO recruiters from here. First was last year, before COVID hit. She didn't get the first job she had applied for and the recruiter expressed his condolences and asked to be kept in the loop about any future opportunities he could help with, then stopped responding to her altogether when she attempted to apply for other opportunities on the Robert Half site. More recently she saw a new job posted and rolled the dice again. This time, weeks after the interview with a new Robert Half rep, there has been no response once again and all her emails and calls are just being ignored. I did not have a good experience with RobertHalf. The recruiter called, she did not discuss anything about what I was looking for or even ask more about my experience. Within 2 mins of the call, she asked me If I was interested in a temp role and when I said I didn't prefer that. She quickly said she didn't have anything else and sounded like she wanted to end the conversation. She said "I don't have any full time positions right now, period". I have worked at a staffing agency before and I know for a fact that every candidate is valuable eventually if not at that very moment. read more

There are way better agencies out there to help you out without being disruptive during your working hours and will provide you with appropriate documents before hand. Starting with the DC office when I lived in Maryland and then the LA office once I moved out to CA back in 2006 and most recently with the La Jolla Office in San Diego. Working with a temp agency always has mixed experiences but I can honestly say that the short time I spent working with Linda and Lance at the La Jolla Office was terrific (I temped for a couple of months after graduation and prior to moving back up to LA). I especially enjoyed working and communicating with Linda and she was always prompt to respond to email questions, and such. Excellent experience. I reached out and got scheduled a meeting with Milan, a recruiter in less than a week. When I came to the office he saw me quickly and went over my resume and asked some questions about my previous experience. Afterwards I took a few online tests to prove my knowledge. I had a GREAT experience with Office Team! I originally met with Lance back in September, and right off the bat I knew I was going to have a good experience. He was very honest about my job prospects, listened to requests, and worked hard to find me assignments. About 2 days after my original interview, I received a call about an available assignment. Lance, Linda, and Kevin work so well together. Lance was very honest from the beginning and gave incredibly useful tips that would help me throughout the entire process. He encouraged me to call and check in with him every now and then, which I did. Like any job search, you also have to put the work in and hold yourself accountable to find employment. If you haven't heard from them in a few weeks, send a reminder email or give them a call. Almost always, I received a call back within DAYS with a new assignment opportunity. They were so understanding of my needs and concerns, and I truly felt taken care of. Laura was quick about getting me the interview, a few things that irked me was that she did not retain my resume and I had to give her information I already submitted to her. They completely botched the contacting of my references as they seemed to only contact 1 and I got an email that my reference doesn't know me. Once I thought we had everything squared away I got a call from my recruiter wanting a reference from me about me? Apparently she mixed up the phone numbers. Highly unprofessional! As a candidate, my experience with Robert Half Technology (specifically lead recruiter Christopher Hutchman, William O'Donovan, and other members of the team as well) has been nothing short of exceptional. Every communication I have ever had with this company has been first rate from start to finish and they have never failed to treat me with the utmost respect and care. Since moving to San Diego approximately a year ago, I have met with a number of recruiting professionals, and have been extremely fortunate to have been successfully placed with a number of high profile government and corporate clients in the greater San Diego area and beyond thanks to Robert Half Technology's sensational La Jolla, CA branch. While I had already possessed a marketable background and exceptional references when they initially called me, my technical experience pertaining to IT specifically had been limited in the sense that I hadn't had many jobs in IT. Although I could do the level 1 desk stuff literally in my sleep, I had barely proven it on paper, with only about eight months as a Help Desk Technician at my community college in Las Vegas, NV under my belt (the rest of my jobs were extremely technical but non-IT so worthless to most potential clients). With little more than an A+ certification and a resume on Dice, it didn't take long before a member of the team (Kevin Tan) reached out to me via phone and email simultaneously. We began corresponding regularly over the next couple days and he had me come in and meet him so that I could take a battery of basic tests, which I performed quite well on. My first contract was a relatively straightforward refresh project for the California Highway Patrol. It only lasted two days, but in my opinion it was enough to get me in the door and prove that I had the chops. The project manager on that subsequently recommended me and I was asked to continue traveling to other CHP departments to continue working (which I had declined even though RHT offered to reimburse me on mileage, a fair deal). Shortly thereafter, I got another phone call from RHT inquiring whether I had any experience with Office 365. Getting to work with experimental new technologies and cloud based stuff was/is a dream come true for an aspiring young geek like me, and a couple weeks later I was working for the San Diego airport on a large migration project. The rest is history. As a result of my experience with Robert Half Tech in La Jolla, I now get phone calls from recruiters left and right. My resume is pretty solid now, and I owe this company a debt of gratitude that can never truly be repaid. I moved to San Diego with nothing but an ultrabook and a couple pairs of Dockers, and struggled just to get gas money for interviews. It wasn't easy. I am 24 years old. While I am not afraid to stress that my resume was already impressive, I moved to San Diego with nothing more than a dream and this company took a chance on me initially. I'd like to think it paid off for both of us. Conclusion: When every other recruiter and staffing agency in town had me coming in for multiple interviews before they even shopped me out to a client, editing my resume without my permission, and making me wait weeks to get a call back... Robert Half Technology in La Jolla, CA put me to work. From the moment they found me on Dice I have never been unemployed for more than a couple weeks unless it was by choice. Christopher Hutchman and William O'Donovan especially understand the importance of creating a positive candidate experience, which I can't say is true for other companies. I can only imagine the experience on the other side of the table (clients) has been equally extraordinary, or else they would not be calling me with offers for interviews almost every week. These guys work with some cool companies too. And even when things in my personal life had gone awry and I am unable to answer the phone consistently, I could always count on Mr. Hutchman to leave me a voicemail and follow up with me consistently. As he has said to me many times, RHT is only as good as their candidates. And as I have told him, they need to rename this company Christopher Hutchman Technology. I have not met Mr. Robert Half personally, although I am sure he is a talented and competent individual based on my experiences with the members of his organization that I have had the pleasure of working with. Candidates: Meet with other recruiters, I have had the pleasure of meeting many exceptional individuals in this field and the reality is that only a small percentage of clients they meet will ultimately get placed. So this is an update to my previous review. So I thought I would be working with ATT but was told they were still awaiting funding of their contract and couldn't give us a start date. It was pretty disappointing so I asked Molly Benjamin to continue looking for jobs. I usually work as a network admin but didn't mind "stepping down" to a help desk type of position or even a short 3 month contract just to get me back to making money in my field. Well she got me set up to start working very quickly, in fact I got a call late at night telling me if I was available to start work the next morning. Amazingly enough the job pays pretty good for the type of work I'm doing and it's fairly close by as well. What a joke! I have been in their offices throughout different states 7 times to meet with them over the last six years. In addition, I have spoken to five or six other of their "team members" on the phone. In the six years, I had ONE total interview for a position that the company never filled. In addition, I have applied to over 100 postings of theirs on job boards with sometimes also writing a message to one of the recruiters I spoke to previously about applying for the position. It is always some excuse why I can't. Too much experience, not specific enough experience, they want CPA or have worked on a specific software package (of course never list it on the job posting) or job is already filled. But I was getting the periodic junk e-mails of the $15 an hour positions they have available and if you know someone interested, there is a bonus to be had. I am starting to wonder if any of their postings are real and not just to get a group of higher level people in an e-mail list to find the lower level positions they only have. read more

"Buyer beware!" RHT has two divisions, one that deals with permanent placing while the other one deals with consulting/temp placement. Although I have not been able to get a job thru RHT, their permanent placing side is a pleasure to work with. They keep you up to date on everything from the start of an interview all the way to the actual decision. However the consulting temp placement arm of the company is a different story. Case in point. I used RHT to land me an opportunity with one of their clients who by all accounts was very interested in me. The whole interview process went so well that I was able to convince their client to hire me directly and just pay RHT a placing fee for their troubles. What happened next was not something I was prepared for. My recruiter ended up convincing their client to not hire me directly and just bring me on board as a Temp-to-Hire employee for 6 months. They then proceeded to negotiate my salary (downward) from my asking rate to $10 an hour less. And then to cap things off, promised me that everything was good and that the job was mine for a whole week only to call me at the end of the week (Friday before I report to work the following week) that the job was off the table. Apparently someone in their firm jumped the gun when in fact there was never really an offer letter to begin with. I ended up losing the opportunity and unemployed after my previous company closed shop and went belly up. But I don't blame RHT as a whole, just my recruiter in particular for not handling my opportunity well. read more
