I think this place is OK, I was contemplating between 3 and 4 stars, I think 3.5 would be exactly right here but I went for 4 because of the "innovation factor", for example, I liked the fried egg rueben I thought this was a nice twist on this sandwich. I like places that innovate and don't always stick only to traditional dishes. Everything else we ordered was good too but the place gets really hot inside in the summer, they really need an AC or maybe a few ceiling fans or something otherwise it gets a little uncomfortable. I'm always excited to try new places for brunch, especially when traveling...so when I found myself once again in the Lehigh Valley, hungry for fine breakfast food and wanting to avoid the many, many (many) diners that dot the land, I came across Roasted. I'd been on the property before as I had dined at it's former Blue Sky Cafe incarnation and, though I enjoyed my experience at Blue Sky, I was pleased to see a much more modern (and super crowded) experience both in terms of the design of the space and the menu. Word on the street is they have the same chef is Blue Sky and you can even see the former restaurant's signature "Sweet Potato Quesadilla" on the menu as a salute to the past. We were rolling in with a party of nine and even though we called ahead they stuck with the policy of not taking reservations, but they were able to seat us in about 25 minutes, which wasn't too bad considering it was a Saturday smack dab in the middle of brunch. They don't offer a kids menu (and we had 3 kids with us) but the prices are pretty reasonable considering the quality they put out...and we had both vegetarians and gluten free eaters with us and thought it was especially helpful that their menu was clearly labeled with which items were vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. They also offer soy sausage, tofu, and vegan cheddar so you can simulate the real thing no matter what you order. The coffee wasn't bad. I've had much bolder, but it was a couple steps above the browned water you often get at breakfast places. I had a Create Your Own omelet with egg whites, soy sausage, gouda and kale. I actually wanted the roasted leeks which came with the special omelet instead of kale but the kitchen wasn't willing to make that substitution. The server asked if I had a backup to the leeks in case the chef wasn't willing to use them...I was disappointed about this, especially that they just brought the omelet with the kale in it without any kind of report back or regret that they couldn't do it. It still tasted good with the kale. But the communication wasn't great and in the end I didn't feel taken care of. Our ten year old ordered the Oreo French Toast which was an out of control looking construction that he pretty much wanted to marry. My gluten free, mostly vegan wife especially enjoyed the hearty vegan soup she got. Everyone else was happy with what they got and the food came fairly quickly considering how busy the place was. We'd come back as there's so much to try for vegetarians. read more

We arrived around 10:30 for breakfast just 3 of us. We had the most friendliest, kind and patient waiter named Candido-who went extremely above and beyond with some of our requests. He made the whole table feel so welcomed. The food was fantastic. This was all our first time trying this place and it exceeded our expectations. The place is small yet cozy and welcoming. Some patrons might complain that the kitchen is loud but it's an open front cooking space so it's to be expected and honestly it didn't bother us at all. What an excellent little place! It's been on my list of places to try and we happened to get in on a whim today after my son's soccer game. They don't take reservations but we called when we were close to see if we would be able to get a table before getting parked, and they were kind enough to say we could get seated and saved it. We were greeted so kindly when we arrived and our waiter was so nice as well. It's tight seating, and it's a small place. They got our orders in timely and food arrived promptly as well. Everyone enjoyed their food. The Oreo French Toast is definitely a dessert and to die for. We ordered that with our regular plates and we all devoured it. We were staying in Philly and went to the Christkindlmarkt in Bethlehem, PA. We researched and found this highly rated gem, Roasted, on YELP for a fantastic breakfast! Candido will welcome you and give you great service! Roasted is currently following all safety protocols. We ate inside and the tables/booths were spaced just right while being separated by large plexiglass dividers. Much improvement from the way things ended at Blue Sky. The new owners (former employees) of Roasted have done a great job spiffing up the joint and make it a bit more spacious. While the place is still small they made a few improvements to make it feel less claustrophobic. The staff were also friendly and efficient as well. The menu has a few of the old favorites but plenty of new editions as well. There is a heavy emphasis on vegetarian/vegan options and they try to incorporate vegetables in most dishes. I had the Wendy omelette which was delicious. It had bacon, smoked Gouda, caramelized onions and portobello mushrooms. The combination was excellent and the smoked Gouda was outstanding. While I appreciate the effort to have gluten free rolls available in lieu of toast, the gf roll was pretty terrible. It was hard as a rock and very dense. With so many better gf breads out there and a local bakery that makes a a solid gf bread I hope in the future they consider a different option. Tip-in the winter sitting near the door is awful. The landscape in this area is drastically changing since I moved away a decade ago. It's awesome to finally have places up here my little sister(V) and I can eat together. Most places she can only get French fries or home fries. Anyway she suggested this place and we went over at 8:45 to beat the crowd. It get packed quick. Why? It is excellent. Great little downtown breakfast spot with a unique menu of a variety of staple breakfast items. It was really hard to choose, but we settled on the breakfast burrito (without meat) and one of their specials, which was a scramble with chorizo, parsnips, and other yummy things I don't remember. Both items were really good, but I would rate the burrito a 4/5 and scramble a 5/5. The scramble had such unique flavors with the chorizo and the chorizo was not super greasy (have had chorizo in items before where it leaves a puddle of grease). Great size portion to split and I appreciated that the toast did not already come with butter on it. The burrito was really good and unique with the black bean salsa, but would have added a bit more cheese and maybe some diced tomatoes or pico de gallo as well. My husband had lunch and he went with the Reuben and he said that it was excellent as well! So I was visiting from out of town & decided to check this place out. There was a line out the door of course so I went in to see what the wait would be. Well I lucked out & got a seat at the counter. But it took a while for someone to come over & acknowledge me for some reason. I mean I know you're busy but come on. I eventually figured out what I was going to order fruit & then a vegan pancake w/ real maple syrup (why charge extra?). While I waited I watched the kitchen chefs work their magic. This place was hopping so there was lots happening the entire time I was there. Well I was actually disappointed that the bananas & nuts I got w/ the pancake actually came on top. Not inside. I mean, what? Why on earth would you put them on top, not a waffle. It was simply not what I wanted & to make matters worse the pancake was pretty blonde (needed to stay on the stove longer) which wasn't appetizing either. Came for brunch with a party of four. Cute little place with some interesting choices on the menu. I have an allergy to dairy so I was happy to see some vegan options available. They catered to my allergy well and had no problem modifying a dish for a member in our party. Prices are not bad but not great, probably just right. I was surprised because usually vegan menu items are mediocre at best, but the tofu breakfast sandwich was really great, nicely seasoned and it had a ton of flavor in the tofu. I also ordered scrapple and it was nice and crispy. The coffee that we all got was also pretty great for just a hose blend, and our server was very knowledgeable about the different selections available. Only downsides is that we found that it can get very loud very quickly in such a small space that has large vaulted ceilings so prepare to have to talk loudly to the person sitting right across from you if its busy, and the building is obviously old so its not the prettiest place atmosphere wise. Came here for breakfast with the family. There were lots of options for everyone, including the vegetarians. There are lots of unique menu items, some of which were too unique for me to give a try. Our first order of business was to order coffee. The flavored coffee when we were there was coconut - my absolute favorite. It was a really happy surprise! I did go out of my usual omelette comfort zone and ordered the "The Wendy" - stuffed with bacon, smoked Gouda, caramelized onions, portabella mushrooms and tomatoes. It was delicious! I really enjoyed the sweetness of the onions paired with the unami of the mushrooms. A truly perfect combo. I don't usually like tomatoes in my eggs but these didn't bother me.
