I found this coffee shop one day while we were looking for a local place to get some good coffee. Lucky us this place had just what we were looking for. I have gotten hooked on the "Jittery Javelina" it has just the right amount of caramel and vanilla ( I only drink my coffee hot, but my husband had it cold and really enjoyed it). We have tried the Marana Mocha both cold and hot. It was good, but just a little too sweet for me. My husbands favorite is the Ragin Roadrunner which has chocolate sauce and banana syrup. After coming here for a couple of months we just realized that they make breakfast sandwiches. Since We have made this our Sunday morning coffee date spot we decided to try some. I had the "veggie breakfast" and my hubby had the egg& cheese with bacon both on croissants. We give our sandwiches 5 stars! My veggie sandwich was stuffed with egg, pepper jack cheese, tomato, red onion and a generous amount of avocado, Yum. My husbands sandwich pales in comparison to mine. He does not agree and told me not to judge his :) He thought it was delicious. The fresh fruit was a refreshing addition to our meals. As always, one of the most important things to us is the service we receive. Every time we have gone here we have been greeted by friendly young ladies. I am sorry that I don"t remember their names but they are there early Sunday mornings. They make our coffee fast and are always super friendly. Now that we have seen the lunch menu we plan on having a lunch date here in the near future. read more

I'm not a coffee drinker but I enjoy there breakfast. They have a delicious bagel sandwich that I get with egg sausage, havarte cheese on a cheese bagel. I live about 3 miles away and its out of my way to get there but its worth the trip. read more

After much thought, my coffee was just OK. Nothing special, not bad, a little bitter for my liking, served hot and price similar to Starbucks!! I'll try them again, maybe go inside next time to check out more of their menu and pastries!!! read more

Prices are too high. Wait is too long, even at random times of the day and even when there's nobody else in the shop. Coffee is mediocre. That being said, THEY HAVE A DRIVE-THRU. And good iced tea (especially the earl grey). Those are the only reasons I keep going back. The owner works there most mornings and remembers your face. He makes sarcastic comments and knows your order. I like him. Food is pretty good, but awfully heavy. The breakfast sandwiches are really greasy. Lunch tends to be a bit lighter, but they buy whatever chips are on sale at Sam's Club.... sometimes you'll get good ones; other times, you're stuck with really awful ones. #firstworldproblems It'd be 3 stars if the coffee prices weren't even higher than Starbucks's and the sandwiches weren't more expensive than Panera's (while neither item is as good in quality as those at the chains). I'd also bump it to 3 stars if the coffee wasn't always over-roasted and over-brewed.... after 3 years of Roadrunner being on the right side on my way to work, I now go out of my way to find something else whenever I'm early enough to do so. On the other hand, it'd be 1 star if it wasn't locally owned. I'd also bump it down if the staff wasn't great or if they didn't display funky local art all over the place. If their tea wasn't good enough that I have a perfectly acceptable coffee substitute, that'd bump it down too. If I'm out of time on my way to work, I won't sacrifice caffeine out of spite for Roadrunner.... In conclusion, Roadrunner is better than "meh," but not "a-ok." I NEED HALF-STARS, YELP!!!! read more

I discovered this place when I moved into the area and I'm in love. My very favorite is the Marana Mocha because it's got a splash of mint. Friends and I have had several play dates there and it has been awesome because there is a small corner in the shop with coloring books and crayons and things for the kids to do so the moms and relax, talk, and get caffeinated. There's also outside seating when the weather is good. This place also sells art from local artists. I was pining for these barbed wire crosses they sell there and my best friend just got it for me for my birthday from Roadrunner! They also have the cutest little milkshakes and smoothies for kids. It feels more like a local coffee shop where everyone is welcome than a chain. They also have a drive thru window, too, which is convenient. So back to the coffee, again, yum. And works great! At some chains it can be pretty weak but not at Roadrunner. Keeps me going all day! I love this place! read more

I was really excited to find this place because good coffee is hard to find in Arizona. There were only two people in line in front of me yesterday but the cashier was disorganized and slow. We went in on a whim because the burro place next door was closed and I must say I am SO glad we did! The atmosphere is fantastic and the ladies working were super friendly and helpful. My husband enjoyed his organic coffee and they make a killer hot chai tea latte! I also had a cherry turnover which was yumtastic (yes that's a word in my world)! Our food was not good at all. The burrito's were probably 98% rice. The croissant was dry and tasted awful. Not great!

Roadrunner has easily become my favorite local coffee shop! The coffee is amazing and so are the pastries. Staff are always so helpful and welcome you with a smile. The environment is clean, with tables inside and outside. They have televisions and board games for you to relax and enjoy while in the cafe. read more

Been there about six times. Located in a plaza, the best thing it's got going for it is that it faces west. Nice atmosphere once you're inside, but the walls are lined with kitschy art and jewelery, which I guess people in Marana might be into. Basic radio is heard faintly in the background, making the place seem pretty barren in the early afternoon. Though, I've seen some liveliness in the mornings. A large flat-screened T.V. playing Fox News watches over the cafe, and yes, that's a reason not to go. read more

Love the coffee. The people working are nice however they should just close the drive thru. Drive thru's are suppose to be quick and convenient however the wait time is 15 min with no one in front of you. I ordered then drove up to window waited a solid 5 min then saw a guy in the parking lot talking on his phone for 5 min then saw him through the window having his order taken rather then them telling him they would be with him in a min so they could make my drink. They didn't even open window to take payment or say it's almost done I assumed they forgot about my order because it had been 15 min from the time of ordering . However this isn't the first time it's been a 15 min or more wait with no one in front of me .Not to mention if your trying to get to work on time it's not cool.Not sure if this is because they are understaffed or because the new owner as the other owner was always seen there but it use to be a bit better Timewise. read more

Where has this place been...? Just now found this place and I LOVE it. It's the perfect place to chill out and have one of their great drinks. The employees have always been nice and have a smiling, helpful attitude. The sandwiches are all made with fresh ingredients and full of flavor... My favorite is the chicken salad but I'm sure as I continue to try more it'll change. I've never been such a fan of the organic coffee, but Roadrunner's is fantastic. Let me start off by saying I visit this coffee shop at least 1 time each week and sometimes it's 3 or 4 times a week. I've visited in the mornings, lunch time and the afternoons. I've been here when it's busy and when it's kinda slow. Sometimes I'm here for multiple hours because it's a great place to hang out at or do some work. This coffee shop has great variety with its drinks and food (pastries and sandwiches). I like that they have branched out to serve alcohol. It's a fun local shop that's been very creative with different activities such as live music and games for people to play. It's a great place for all ages and the prices are fair. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the inconsistency with service and staff. Over the past few months as this place becomes more popular and busy there has been a change in customer service (when it's been busy and unfortunately even when it's slow). I've had to wait 10-15 minutes for two coffees while customers in the drive thru are being served first. Sometimes I get the option to enter in my phone number for the rewards program and other times staff don't mention it so I have to or don't get the option at all. I've seen long lines where people are waiting due to 2 staff and one machine for making the drinks. I've received my coffee with the bottom of the cup being messy (leaving a coffee mark on the bottom of places I put the cup). Sometimes the coffee is so hot that I have to ask for ice or wait over 10 minutes for the coffee to be a temperature that doesn't burn my mouth. I've ordered egg sandwiches (which are great) but it's missing ingredients asked to be on the sandwich. One time my boyfriend asked about the pizza they serve and the staff said it was frozen and didn't know what company it was (she didn't offer to go look). Today I've seen a few people try to order with the drive thru option (which is a plus sometimes as well as the option to order by phone) but for some reason no one had the head set on so the drive thru people were not being acknowledged. Then I saw the drive thru people have to walk into the store to order. One person even waited over 5 minutes to be acknowledged (staff were in the back area). Overall it's hit and miss for customer service. I keep going back because it is a rare gem in Tucson and I would recommend this place to everyone. If you haven't tried it, do so because you are missing out. read more

On Saturday evening there is live music and it makes for a very relaxing and fun evening without breaking the bank or driving across Town. I just moved here from Colorado Springs, Colorado a couple months ago and I was really surprised that Tucson does not have more local coffee shops in town. I live all the way on the west side, by Starr Pass, and I will drive all the way up to this place just to get coffee, even though there's probably a hundred Starbucks' near me.
